Today marks my 40th anniversary of leaving my beautiful homeland. Although I was quite young, I remember it fondly and miss it more today than ever. Will always be Guyanaese!
Why don't you guys return home? There are lots of Guyanaese on many websites saying they left for North America as kids about 40 years ago who have fond memories. It's an interesting country for it's the only English speaking South American country and is a lush green tropical one teaming with life. The city doesn't look appealing like shown in this video.

From what I hear about the crime in Guyana, I would feel like I need one. Plus the flights are overpriced, if I’m going to be paying that much, then it better be worth it. Guyanese people need to clean up the country if they expect us to return and spend money and invest in the country. All a we Guyanese living in foreign have a lot money saved up. We would love to invest in we former country, and see de place grow. But y’all not making it too welcome for we. Guyana has a much more mixed culture even tough it doesn't seem that way (not just racially). The mixed and creole culture that existed in Jamaica was thrown away for Yardi in the 1970s
Spent 3 weeks in Guyana back in 2004 must say i really enjoyed it. I stayed at this hotel called the watercrest hotel in Georgetown. Since 2004 i always wanted to come back but life and work always gets in the way. oneday i will return.
My mother was born there and as a child I spent Summer holidays there and I enjoyed it. I am sorry that I didn’t have the opportunity to show it to my children

Some places haven't changed around Stabroek. Nice video and good information on the Malali. I used that vessel lots of times years ago to transport survey equipment and crew to West Coast for Sea Defense purposes. Myself and two other Surveyors did the work for the approaches to the floating bridge across the demerara river. After that we used the bridge to access WB, WC and then onto Parika to access Essequibo. Years ago and memories past. I long to return ... lots of collegues have passed on both in Guyana and Canada. Recently, Bishun Dyal who was the Superintendent of Cadastral surveys passed away in Canada. I'm now convinced that I have to see Guyana again in the near future. Cheers.

If you are ENGLISH Caribbean person regardless of race person complaining about racism in the UK I really want to to know what you done with life there so far. Maybe you went there when you were older. Are you aware of politics in the UK. Its very mild mannered compared to the constant confusion that happens in Guyana. For everyone about to comment on how chaotic GT looks, just know that not everywhere is like that. Stabroek Market is one giant hub of transportation and business transactions, so yeah, it gets chaotic. -you should see it during Christmas-
I have seen videos of the countryside, the mountains, rivers, waterfalls, wild life diversity, specially beautiful birds, green vast plains and it is absolutely beautiful. As to Georgetown is concerned it looks disorganized, vendors and food stands taking the public space leaving actually no space for people to walk or cars to go through and besides for this purpose the streets look so narrow.The government buildings, the cathedral and other churches look very nice. My girlfriend is from that country. Thank you for the good video.

Public comments.guyana is a beautiful country with lots of resources and opportunity but it needs proper management in government including checks and balances and transparency and accountability in government.
