  • The 1950 Swiss Grand Prix, was a Formula One race held on 4 June 1950 at Bremgarten. It was race four of seven in the 1950 World Championship of Drivers. The 42-lap race was won by Alfa Romeo driver Nino Farina after he started from second position. His teammate Luigi Fagioli finished second and Talbot-Lago driver Louis Rosier came in third.
The footage has been AI-Upscaled an AI-Colorized and than has been heavily hand edited to achieve the result you see.

Thank you so much. This one was one of the ten races that I couldn't find any footage on the internet. Guess the list is now down to nine races.

"Fortunately, the driver was not injured in mortal danger." (Commentator) Haha today these kids don't drive when it rains a bit.

An auto race of F-1 in Switzerland...I didn't know that racing was done there. This is neat to see.

Thank you. Actually the Swiss Grand Prix was a classic race back then, unfortunately after the tragic accident of Pierre Levegh at Le Mans in 1955, the Swiss governement completely banned motor racing. The ban was lifted only a couple of years ago and for electric cars racing only.

      @@andreacolombo9795 "Completely" - Wrong.
Rallying, hillclimbs and slalom racing was still allowed(A to B timed racing), just everything that involved direct car vs car racing was banned.

@@peterdaviesracing I would be completely wrong, as you said, if there was not a Swiss Grand Prix, a tragic accident and a resulting racing ban, but I thank you for the correction and for your extreme politeness. ❤

@@peterdaviesracing Sorry for the over the line answer I had a bad day and didn't get that with "Completely" you was referring to the word in my comment and not to the whole comment itself. Ouch. 🥴

@@andreacolombo9795 Sorry, I kinda didn't notice that. Maybe I saw it as snarky sarcasm :D
Iit's just annoying as a Swiss that it gets repeated wrongly very often. I've been to a national(even European!) hillclimb event for years, it wouldn't be possible if ALL forms of motorsport would've been banned, ha ha! :D

Bei 0:40 sieht man für einen Moment die Schweizer Radio-Reporterlegende Vico Rigassi, der also offenbar dort auch dabei war.
