Literally. I was having a drink with friends and these two people we had met a few days before (a man and a woman, they were friends). We were talking about how much alcohol is too much and why some of us didn't like drinking and the guy says to his friend "I've never seen you drunk tho". She says "Yes you have, one glass is the right amount for me" and he goes "Well, it can't be the right amount, why don't you ever smile? You can't be drunk enough." And this pissed her off so much... Since most people at the table were girls we all were thrown off by that comment and I try to shift the subject to something else cause he wouldn't shut up about it.

I'm so conflicted with this song. It's such a bop and her vocals are insane and beautiful and she's feeling herself and the beat is great! But at the same time she's throwing another girl under the bus to boost her own worth. Like the line, 'I guess I'll never understand why guys want something bland' or when she mimicked a certain type of girl. Hell yeah she's a prize but so are other girls. What a shame. I get that everyone is conflicted because it seems like she’s putting another woman down but for me and my particular situation this song is perfect. My husband cheated on me with a girl that knew he was married with kids. Now I know she’s not married to me or owes me any loyalty and this is on him 100% but I would put people that don’t purposely get to facilitate an affair over people that do. We've all probably felt this way about another girl/woman/person, but who we're really angry at are the boys/men/people that see us as interchangeable, able to be traded in and out as if we're all the same. But since they have generally not shown themselves to be very prone to listen to us, and often ghost us, we never get to tell them that. I don't support the parts of her bashing the other girl, but I understand. She even apologized for those parts of the lyrics and has said that she has since been working on her perception of these types of situations. Which is something.

Yeah, this felt disappointing. The chorus is catchy, but girls should cheer on girls.
I really respect sonority and women helping out other women, but guys everything has a limit. I don't think she really feels that way, although we all try (or at least we should) to be a better version of ourselfs and evolve, we're not all political correct all the time. I'm sure, judging by other songs this artist have, that she does not appreciate putting women against other women. But, in the heat of the moment when you're rejected by someone it's normal to have those feelings, and that's what this music is about. It's not even just a women thing, I've felt this way several times although I'm a man (thinking that I'm better than the person he choose it)

I would like to jump in & interpret 2 simple things for the people who are disliking it -
1. The reason why some lyrics hit you to the point to like/dislike it is because it generates some kind of emotions in you. Everyone has felt these kind of feelings some day or the other while love hit'em hard. This song just hits you right there.
While many won't want to admit & associate themselves with it. THEY WILL CRITICIZE IT.
