Great information! I was nervous about using compression fittings to anchor my shed, but now I see they are the most secure 👍🏼

I'd love to see a video comparing how a properly made connection fails in comparison to an improper connection. Say a poorly made compression sleeve crimp, or an improperly attached cable clips. Additionally, data on unrated items like quicklinks vs. shackles. I'd find that useful for training on why proper connections are important.

I'm guessing the gripples did awesome. So, I'll go with that. Thanks for showing me real-world applications for them even if it isn't the "right" cable.

    Why not mention the gripple?

As mentioned in the video, the wire rope we had in stock is not one of the constructions specified by Gripple for that size. As a result, the tests we did were knowingly an incorrect usage of the hardware. We don't want to endorse working outside manufacturer specs but we also did not want to skip Gripples in the demonstration, so we did the faulty test but don't provide the results. We don't want people to see the numbers and decide that we are right and the manufacturer is wrong. Some day we will get the right cable and do more tests on Gripples, although the results will not be terribly interesting. They cables break around half the strength as they supposed to when any cable glide is used - a reality reflected in the manufacturer load ratings.

Tying knots in wire rope.......not a big fan of this. I know that it has been used in the Circus for years. Still I won't do this practice.

Circus knots should never be used for permanent applications, and in fact should not even be left unattended. They are not a commonly used technique in most areas of the entertainment industry.
