The reference to special occasion clothes really resonated with me. I have a number of ‘special occasion’ clothes in my wardrobe and just recently realized how silly it is not to be wearing them whenever I want to. The reason they’re special occasion is because they’re all items I love but they just sit there waiting for a right occasion to come along. Life’s too short for that! 😀

The way you’ve described a style rut in the beginning is really REALLY similar to the way Dr Ramani described a person that’s stuck in the game of pleasing and adapting to their narcissistic partner!! (One of her most recent videos).
I have immediately started to draw parallels between both theoretical situations. With a narcissist first things to do are: admit you can’t win, because the game actually has no rules and will absolutely always be rigged; stop playing into “the game”; build your own sense of worth and reflect with as much honesty as you can to the things you feel.
And I can already see how it can help on style journey!!!
Rita, I am your follower for years now, I think, and only now saw the value of this video. How much life experience and wise consideration you are putting into your content is so inspiring!

YES. YES YES YES. Adding small style ***time***My new frequent item is yoga pants with RENAISSANCE PAINTINGS on them. They are so soft and comfy but intriguing and special. I wore them like 4 times in 10 days trying different tops 😁

Yay!! So glad you're back! What you said about colors vs neutrals really resonates. I feel as though wearing all neutrals has been a HUGE trend for the past few years, and I feel like it just does not lend well to expressiveness in dressing. Like wearing an all neutral outfit can look classy, elegant, etc etc but the double edged sword is that it's hard to get an all or mostly neutral look to not to come off as boring/looking like everyone else.
Speaking of color, that red on you is AMAZING! You look gorgeous!

I always need the reminder to go slow and be consistent! I am soooo the oversaturator of fantasy boards type! Good to remember small movement is still movement

Wearing mismatched sweatpants while scrolling amazing outfits? Relatable! Part of it is about ease of movement and not wanting to damage/ stain/ tear nicer clothes while at home as a pandemic hermit.

i'm just a silent viewer usually but i really missed your videos! just recently learned i'm FN and a soft summer (which is real progress considering that just last year i thought i was an SG winter... those were dark times), and i'm so excited to use this new ✨empowering knowledge✨ to build a wardrobe and integrate essence at some point hopefully. i'm still learning but can honestly say i've learned so much from you and had kinda given up on understanding style/kibbe/my own body until i found your page so thank you. 🌻

This is an Amazing video. You are right that it seems such simple advice but I think we zoom past that looking for a more complicated answer. What a great place to start with revamping your style image! I can’t wait to start tomorrow . (Great lipstick btw!)

I've been drawn to a specific chunky necklace for like a year or more. Thinking that it would pull all my outfits together even my comfy house mom regular clothes.... I guess that's permission to buy it 😏....😂

Love this Rita! I can tell you’ve learned this through working with so many people so thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! ❤ I realize I’ve been unconsciously doing this a bit and now gonna lean into that. I changed my haircut which has made such a significant difference! If anyone needs an idea and doesn’t mind hair experiments, I know that’s a bigger step for some people.
