Its nice hearing from somebody a bit more relatable why those choices are made! Im a pure user who could not click with the envy (but have not tried a proxy). Now im conaidering trying one!
It always feels like when I try new discs I like them more than what's in my bag. I think it's just because I like new things.

Hey Anthony! You should really check out the Thoughtspace Praxis, the Mint Bullet, and the Wild Sea otter. All really great throwers. The praxis beats in to a point and shoot and very close to it out of the box!
I throw a praxis and I beat it in to the point where it has a slight flip, it’s absolutely money

Wild Discs Sea Otter is eirie similar to the Viking Knife, Discmania Sensei and the Yikun Gui... I wonder why ;) That being said would love to try the Sea Otter in different plastics. It's 100% a great mold for beedless stable/slightly overstable flights!

@@hoaxgaming1775 Wild Discs are made by Yikun and all of those mentioned are almost identical and depending on dome flies the same. A dome adds some glide but makes that mold less stable imo^^
Love the proxy! Lost mine a few weeks ago and bought a pure to replace it! Very similar! Love them both
I’ve been using a Neutron Proxy as my thrower for a few months. I picked up the KK premium Logic - Cosmic Fury - and it kicked the proxy out of my bag in one round. The depth and grip are better for me and stability is about the same so my accuracy is better. It would be cool to see you compare it vs. your Pure. The profiles are very similar.

At the very end of your video, I felt the same way about taking a buzzz out of my bag. It was my go to. I threw it all the time. Very well seasoned and fly exactly how I wanted until it got to flippy. I tried my best to replace it with a new buzzz but I just couldn’t get that same feel out of the new one. I still bag a buzzz but it is no longer my go to flip up to flat and glide for days mid. The md1 Simon lizotte mind bender took the go to point and shoot spot.
I love the neutron soft plastic for my envy and proxy. Catch the ground and chains extra nice. Although the Watt is my favorite point and shoot disc ever.
It's funny because I bag only two putters and it's an R2 Proxy and a couple of different plastic Pures (original moonshine, zero hard and Gold).
They're not at all the same disc. Proxies are the most neutral discs ever made. Pure has a lot more glide and is a lot flippier, which makes for hyzer flips and shot-shaping, and is better when you want to come in with a bit of fade at the end. Proxy doesn't fade at all, it just flies in a perfectly straight line - which is often dangerous.
IMO Latitude's most similar disc to the proxy is the Hope, although a VERY overstable Pure (brand new opto) might be similar although Latitude discs are very consistent so I wouldn't expect to find a non-flippy Pure.
yeah the optos and opto xs are pretty stable, I tried ot pick 2 of the most stable plastics for both of these discs to compare them bc I'm sure the electron proxy will also flip hard like a medium pure
Have thrown envys for a little over 2 years and just put a proxy in my bag “for fun”… it hasn’t left the bag😂! It’s such a great do everything disc and gives me unmerited confidence, glad you’re also coming to the dark side lol!
Love the Proxy. If you ever get ahold of a low 160-class, especially in Plasma and a Patent Pending one, definitely try it out. Effortless hyzer flips and super easy to carve lines in the woods.
Keystone is my favorite... Blunter like the Proxy, but from Tomas's genius mind.
I use the Keystone for approach shots and putting. I love how it flies but just can't get the distance I can with the Pure.
I putt with soft neutron proxys and man they are so good. Hold up seriously well and handle wind great due to slight over stability compared to base plastics.
I love my proxy. HIGHLY recommend the soft neutron. It is slightly more stable and it a bit flatter on top, which I love, and has a softer feel than the regular neutron. Can throw mine 300+ when I really get ahold of it
Proxy is an amazing forehand 'do anything' disc. Approaching or an anny forehand to get out of trouble, and it always does what I tell it.
I bag both + an Envy atm and use the Pure for my daytime putter and Proxy/Envy as my throwing putters. The Proxy is is my go to glow round putter, nobody can beat MVP Eclipse plastic.
This is just perfect timing, because I just switched my putter to the Pure. Now I have to check out yet another option??? Grrrrrrrrr. 😊

I have a glow proxy and an eco pure. The proxy is my throwing putter and the pure is my putting putter. Love them both!
Explore more anny angles with the Proxy. Like for your second hole. Once you get used to it you'll shape something left to right and avoid that annoying tree on the right side of the basket. You might not have to throw quite as nose down as you would expect.
It is my approach disc of choice 150-250 (shorter and I use a Nomad)'. Fantastic for hitting tight gaps. Unless you need a big fade or skip/ground play it holds whatever line you put it on and if you have the airspace to play with, you can shape your line to match the slope you're landing on much of the time. And in soft neutron, it doesn't bounce/roll away from where you want it to stick (most of the time).
12:06 there will be a throwing putter in the Simon Line confirmed. Maybe not neutral/understable but we'll see.
pixel... coming soon, already pdga approved. P2 esque but a bit shallower. I got to feel a bunch of them
I play a lot of tight woods courses and wanted a putter that would give me good distance with basically zero fade. I had been using an Electron Proxy and Envy combo but of course the Envy does have a good bit of fade and for me the Proxy was just too east to turn over. Tried a Plasma Proxy but it had as much fade as the Electron Envy. Enter the Opto Pure. For me it is the one. It flies dead straight with basically no fade if thrown low and hard. Also doesn't turn over on me like the Proxy. On a side note, the Opto Claymore does the same thing for me but just further. The Pure and Claymore replaced the Envy, Proxy and Uplink in my bag but to each his/her own.
I bag the Proxy in the Eclipse glow plastic. I have owned it since I started and while it did make it out of the bag once. It only lasted 2 weeks (if that) and it not only made it back in the bag. It is nearly my go to "ye old faithful." I would typically use it as an approach range or a less than mid range upshot disc depending on the ground play. As where I might would use my inner core here but more and more I seem to just putt with it as where normally I would have used Gateways Lunar or the Cro in which I got from you. Always depends on the gameplay style that day too. Weather, day or night disc golf but I give room in the bag for 4 putters so I got options. Low key like using my hex lizzotle or mind bender to putt with too. Since I use them in that easy upshot 250ft range. I pick up and tap with them but on occassion in that 17ft range ive just used the mid range to putt with. Idk, im weird though.
Content Idea: talk about what factors matter most to you when choosing / liking a disc. It seems like you like the Pure for its flight, familiarity and shape/feel, but you care less about having it in your favorite plastic. Like obviously Neutron is great plastic, but it's not great enough for you to switch to a new throwing putter.
TLDR: If you had a pie chart, what percentage would each of these factors weigh into bagging a disc?
Shape, hand-feel, familiarity, plastic characteristics, flight path, look, brand, etc.

Need to throw a Watt into the mix. Booted the Proxy and I loved the Proxy. Watt and Envy is all you need although I am loving the P1 for that low straight shot. Waiting to check out the Pixel when Simon drops it after the Time Lapse
Everybody always talks about the Envy and Proxy but I think MVP's most slept on throwing putter is the Atom. I like it a lot better since I have smaller hands and it feels more shallow than the other two. Basically a slightly more overstable Logic for me.
Agree - I have and throw all 3 at diff times. Atom has the same core mold as the other two I believe.
I think it's because most of the time you see people talk about the Proxy, they refer to it is flippy/understable which it isn't. It is the most neutral throwing putter I have tried and locks into any line you put it on. I have Proxy's that are years old and still don't have much natural turn, they just lost their fade over time. I think the Envy's strength is distance while the Proxy's is accuracy.
Yeah the Atom has the same core as the Envy and Proxy, but the rim shape is in between the two in terms of stability. I think it's actually the straightest of the 3, or at least falls fairly evenly between them.
I love the Eclipse Soft Proxy. The Pure I have is from this years Trilogy Challenge. That Pure seems a little over stable, while the Proxy is definitely more straight flying.
I personally think that the glow dx classic avair is the best throwing putter but I’m gonna check out the pure
The best Pure is the 2012 Worlds Pure but they are hard to come by and expensive. They had a lot more glide and felt great in the hand. I have one bagged but cant bring myself to throw it. I also like the 10 year anniversary opto x glimmer Pure or just a opto x glimmer. They are a bit easier to come by and have a tad more stability. I agree though the Pure is the best throwing putter out there.

You should check out the Praxis by TSA for throwing putters. I feel like it is pretty similar flight to the Pures I just like TSA's plastics a little more
The proxy and the envy are very very similar
My Eclipse Proxy was one of my first discs and I just added a Fission version of it to my bag. I just got a Pure a week ago in the Trilogy Challenge, and dang did I have trouble throwing it! So much more stable than I want in my putter. Pure isn't going in main bag - it's being relegated to my little putter bag just for drills.
My Opto Pure flies dead straight with no fade or turn. Curious why yours is so stable. Is the Trilogy Challenge a Zero Medium? Oddly enough my Kristin Tattar Pure flies more stable than the Opto but still definitely not what I would call over stable by any means. I wonder if it is just that run?
I bag three pures. Zero medium, gold, and opto. Best disc ever.
I love both of those SO much, but I have actually found that the baseline inner core has been even BETTER for me at least

Proxy is an amazing disc! Picked up the Simon fission prox, thing flys amazing! Very similar to the WATT actually, its like the new MVP WATT is MVPS take on the proxy in their lineup

I putt and throw the pure. Ever since my return to disc golf what I used to putt/throw just dlesnt feel good. I often find the Pure to be too straight and it can definitely get finicky if you dont throw well. Im a weirdo who has to throw and putt the same disc so, I think ill do some exploring soon. The logic is looking like my next tryout. I really do like the Pure. Maybe I can break my tradition and throw logic while putting Pure.....
Try the Praxis by thoughtspace athletics.. definitely has a shot at the best.
Financially for both MVP and Simon pushing the Proxy as his favorite putter makes complete sense.
By the time Simon became team MVP there were way more Envy's already in bags compared to the Proxy.
Choosing to push the Envy even harder, had Simon wanted to, wouldn't have been as profitable for both MVP and Simon.
However getting more players to buy, Axiom's 2nd best selling putter, makes both Simon and MVP more money.
Getting golfers to check out a new mold, they didn't already own is a win.
Simon could literally choose any putter to push on to the golf community and adapt to its flight characteristics for the sake of sales🤷.
And let's be honest here, I think most of us know, it's just a matter of time until everyone is buying Simon's "new putter" he helped MVP or Axiom design.
I'm also betting his new putter will inevitably be more stable than the Proxy and also deeper in feel, and probably much closer to the Envy flight wise.
I guess we'll see how well my prediction ages 11/18/23 😉.

Just saying best is much too broad/vague. Best for what, distance or best for limiting distance best for over stability, understablility a lot of ground action very little ground action......?
I use proxy’s until winter hits. Then I use a soft Reko. Feels close and flies close but I don’t care if i lose it.

Ya opto pure you have to throw a high floating putter shot. A proxy or envy they are miniature midrange and you can rip them low and flat.
It’s all about phission plastic full weight, the lid is thin and light, all the weight is in the rim, very gyro

I was bagging both but really felt there was too much overlap. My goal this year was to have a bag where I never had to decide which disc to throw for the same type of line. Only one disc for each similar line now which meant removing several discs.

The Proxy is my Pure when I throw an all MVP/Axiom bag. Makes zero difference to me and I can move one in or out for the other with no adjustment. I love both molds, but if forced to choose, it's the Pure.

Might be just me but i hate the opto pure.. it is just slippery in my hand...love the zero medium and zero soft however..
That's strange. I recently moved from and almost all gyro bag to all Lat 64. Opto feels really great to me but Retro feels best. Just doesn't hold up well to the woods where I play.
You really would think about which course you play for disc reviews. Throwing discs like these or some other straight/understable/touchy discs you have reviewed in courses that are basically open fields, gives us no clue on how these discs will perform on the lines they were made for. Throw them on wooded technical courses where you would actually prefer this discs and not over stable hyper shots
yeah this wasn't the planned course unfortunately, but the shop I was planning to buy from ran out of stock so I had to cross town and was on a time crunch to film before flying to Massachussets the next morning. I'm likely going to be doing more reviews in this series of finding the best neutral putter and they'll be at a course with at least half the holes requiring shot shaping!

My guy, I really like the content you put out! But if I may share an opinion, or something I experience: I feel like I'm watching the video's in 1.25 x speed. It kind of stress me out a little - in a similar way to when someone is trying to tell me multiple things without taking a break to breathe. It's not a big deal, and I don't know if you looking for feedback - if not just disregard it :)
appreciate the feedback, I definitely run at 1.25-1.5 speed in life lol. I try to slow down sometimes but it can get away from me. It'll be a process since I already feel I'm slower for these than I could haha, something I'm continually working on :)
Envy power in the throw dictates how it flies. More power more straight. A pain to always be adjusting.
Proxy power just changes distance not flight. Angle is all that matters. Not having to adjust your throttle for flight and just worrying about angle and distance makes it predictable and trustworthy.
