Is the UK's youngest MP experienced enough for Parliament?

  • Age is just a number for the UK's youngest MP, Sam Carling.
But at just 22 years old, many have been wondering whether the new "Baby of the House" is experienced enough for Parliament.
The North West Cambridgeshire MP actually believes his youth is an advantage in politics, and insists he's just as qualified as his older colleagues, some of whom are more than three times his age.
Political social media reporter Lewis Denison interviewed the Gen Z MP to learn what it's like to be Parliament's youngest MP, with one of the smallest majorities.

@_.august4243 I think we need to be careful. The LGBT community is well over represented in the House of Commons. Around 3% of the UK identify as LGBT but around 10% of MPs do.
I'm talking about real diversity. People from poor schools, poor backgrounds, ex laboures factory workers etc. Be they black, white, gay or straight. Around 50% of the UK is working class, in my opinion, this is the most underrated group on politics.

Except the vast majority of people vote tribally for the party, NOT the candidate. There's very few MPs who have their own personal following amongst voters. In the last election I can only think of Corbyn and possibly Farage who could claim to be capable of winning without a serious party machine behind them. Would Mr Carling win as an independent?
