Have you made your own shorty levers? Are you thinking about tackling the project? Also give me your guess as to what coating I'm going to use on these new shorty levers I'm making.
Great job, when I was a young kid I used to race motocross and we did this to our bikes, cut down levers to fit our little hands and did the shifter and foot brake too, just making the bike fit us, everyone is built different, nice job
Great video Ron! "Taking a deep breath and making the first cut" is always my hardest part, so I really enjoy watching you dive right in to all these projects 👍
I cut my stockers. It was a big improvement , but I really liked the idea of the trigger levers. I ordered a set from Lucky speed shop. Much better positive grip. The clutch side could be a bit shorter, but these were expensive and I don’t want to spend anymore re coating them, so I will leave them as they are. I really like them.
Have Dave - Thanks for sharing your setup! I’ve been very happy with my Lucky Speed Shop levers overall, and I really like their trigger style levers too.
Do you happen to know what media or grit sand was used while sandblasting? I’m loving the look of those sandblasted levers but I only have walnut shell media right now. Not sure if it’s abrasive enough.
Hey Jeff - my buddy Tom wasn’t certain but our best guess is about 120 grit. I loved that raw look too and I was tempted just to clear coat them like that! Let me know what you end up with.
Yep! You can see how they came out in the follow-up video: ruclips.net/video/2mUqy6Kq4y4/видео.html And if you want a sticker send me a DM on Telegram, Instagram or Signal with the mailing info @RonsWorkshop
Why would anybody that’s riding a motorcycle think this is a good idea????? For safety reasons when you have to make split second decisions you don’t want to sacrifice your life over levers
Hey Robert - that's a valid point for sure. I've been riding shorty levers for years and I haven't had any issues with sudden stops or unexpected situations. But nonetheless, you raise a valid concern! Thanks for sharing that.

Hey James - thanks for the kind words!

Thanks Joe! Yeah, that first cut or drill or whatever can be intimidating. I try to remember that nothing is irreversible!
Looking amazing. Can't wait 😁😁😁
Thanks Nathan!

Alright Ron, maybe a Sealed Hardcoat Anodized with that same Bronze-Gray finish? That’s my guess…. Keep up the great content 👊🏽🇺🇸
Good guess! But, nope. Thank for the encouragement!

Duracoat?
Nope - good guess!
I’ve never witnessed such obsession with levers. To each their own.
🤣 I know! And there’s more to come lol
