Hi folks :) I hope you’re having a great day so far! Welcome back to what’s for tea, and I hope I find you all very well.
This week we went to Aldi and Tesco…This week we spent just over £70 :) This will do us for the week ahead. I do mini top-up shops throughout the week too, or pick up things I’ve forgot to get.
If you like these types of videos, please leave a like so that I know you like them…and I’ll do more in future.
take care x

Evening everyone! Lovely to see you all 🤗 Thank you so much for watching...and I'll be down in the comments for a wee while x
Hope you've had a lovely birthday !
I can't look at marmalade now without thinking, "The devil's jelly!" 😂
Hi Cheryl, happy birthday. We have no Aldi and Tesco in Canada. But I thought I would at least say hi and leave a comment. Hope this helps you a wee bit. (Celebrated my 65th recently with a bottle of Glen Levitt)
Hi from Ontario. I also celebrated my 65th birthday at the end of May.🇨🇦😁
Oh happy belated Birthday Kevin! Thank you so much....you know, I've never actually tried Whisky! As a drink anyway :)
@@WhatsForTea thank you. Whiskey is only once a year for me. Glen Levitt is very expensive here, and I no rich. Normally its cheap beer lol.
i really like the little cucumbers for a light lunch, i scoop out the middle and fill them with egg salad or tuna salad - cute cucumber boats!
Great idea with the cucumbers, I get a big one and only tend to use half. I’ve not seen half portions for ages. X
I really enjoyed seeing the items you have available in your stores. I'm jealous of the beef dripping chips you bought. They sound delicious. I live in Washington State and have never seen those chips anywhere. I am with you in that I love pineapple on my pizza. I'm especially fond of pepperoni, green peppers , onions and pineapple instead of the ham. Delicious! Happy Birthday, Cheryl!
Don't know what I would do without you Cheryl, you give me great ideas for weekly dinners, so thank you. Take care.
✨ Happy Saturday ✨ Hope you’re well? Love from Lancashire 🫶🏻
Hey there! Lots of love to you in Lancashire! 🤗
Want to see what your going to do with all that double cream. I love that stuff I could bathe in it or lace it with mushrooms.
The thing about football Cheryl is, we must have the best supporters in the world and they always turn up hoping for the best, that says a lot about the Scots lol, ever hopeful . Great haul, can I just add that I had a fakeaway black pudding supper tonight (saturday). I bought black pudding in batter from Asda, the Wae Hae Meat brand, I made chips with it and it was sooo good. You're shopping hauls always give me great ideas, so thank you for sharing xxx Happy Birthday, sorry I missed it xxx
I didn't even know Cheryl was into football! But I guess when your national team is playing you're a fan. It will be fun this summer for the Olympics! I was born in the US 🇺🇸 but my family is from Canada 🇨🇦 so I cheer for both. Happy Saturday to all from the stormy Seattle area!
I just discovered that we have an Aldi in Brooklyn! 🗽I wonder if they have those beef dripping chips (fries)!
Hi from Australia. I enjoy your shopping rather than my own!!!! No trying to push a dodgy trolley around the supermarket, no heavy lifting into the boot, no hauling the groceries up a flight of stairs. Takes much less time too. You've reminded me, must get some yoghurt next time. Bye now.
Orange Marmelade, introduced to me by a wonderful Scottish woman of a B&B, 35 years ago, and cannot live without it!
Woww a good selection of food for unbelievable low prices. I live in Southern California and the comparable food would have been around $150.
I've heard you mention several times that your grocery haul videos are not your most popular by quite a margin, but I do hope you'll never be dissuaded from continuing to do them.
Not only do they provide ideas for additional products or styles of products to seek out and try, but it is interesting (when viewing from another country) to see what's available and how prices compare in other nations
All around I am very much a fan of these particular offerings and watch them regularly.
One thing I resent however, is the variety of McCain frozen potato products you reference.
I live in Canada and as McCain is a Canadian company I'm very disappointed that some delicious sounding options, like frozen jacket potatoes, are not available in any Toronto supermarket in which I have ever shopped.
As far as prices, you seem to get some excellent bargains, particularly on produce, whereas a few items appear much more expensive on your side of the pond.
Either way, you provide interesting information with which I never get bored.
As a long time viewer of these and your 'Meals of the Week' videos, I know I can always confidently 'LIKE' them before even viewing them, and you have certainly never let me down.
Keep up the great work.
Great food haul sorry about the footie ❤
I may make some millionare bars this week for a wee treat. Using your recipe of course. lol
I miss cod.....If U travel to Australia people assume we have a big coastline so our fish and chips should be really cheap..... I recently traveled to Queensland where a Scottish relative of mine had an affordable fish and chip shop off the main street and the Scottish in him makes sure locals get a good amount of food for you money BUTTTT most fish and chip shops in Australia are owned by Asian families and I am sure they just go to the local supermarket to pick up bags of the fish because it's small portions and tastes like Aldi fish.
Yay Marmalade from across the pond. English heritage 😂
Another great weekly shopping haul Cheryl, thanks as always for sharing! Take care & enjoy your weekend. xx 👩🏻🍳🛒💕💞🩷
I'm not a football 🥅⚽️ fan at all Cheryl so I'm trying to avoid it on the TV like the plague!! 😅 anyway nice big shop there. I'd it a banofee pie your making with the cream & condensed milk? That would be a good video with watch if you do make that, but whatever you make it's gonna be delicious. Yes try the cheaper things ( jacket potatoes) from fron lidl, ots a big price difference isn't it and 30p more each for the cream from tesco, that's naughty & it soon mounts up in your shopping bill. Hope jasper is OK I'm sure he will enjoy his treats!! 🐈😺
If you have a surplus of cucumber, make quick-salted garlic cucumbers of them. One fullsized cucumber shrinks so much that it makes a big serving for one person.
1 cucumber
4 tsp salt
garlic cloves - sliced or crushed to taste
2 tablespoons oil (sunflower, rape seed, etc)
Slice the cucumber thinly, possibly with a Scandinavian cheese slicer. Mix with the salt and leave for about 15 minutes or until the cucumber has softened.
Rinse the cucumber well in cold water so that the salt softens but does not disappear completely. Taste. Squeeze out excess water.
Put the cucumber in a bowl with garlic and oil.
Let stand at least 30 minutes in the fridge before serving.
Sounds delicious
@@haulornothing5647 It is and also so simple to make.
Some serious price differences between your Aldi and our here in Dublin
Another great shopping trip. TY for sharing. My closest Aldi is over 60 miles away (round trip) but I've got to go at least once to see our prices here in Tennessee. Can't wait to see what you coo with all of this. Show us some breakfast sometimes too. Love ya.
Hello Cheryl,,I am looking for those jacket potatoes at Aldi..looking forward to your fabulous Meals of the week.
I made your Morton rolls and they were BEYOND AMAZING! I used cornmeal instead of semolina. Thank you for the recipe! Lisa from Missouri, USA.
I do enjoy your videos. Nice ideas for meals and it is interesting the different items available to you we don't have in the States. Your meals are hearty and look so delicious. We live in the mid-west and I so enjoy listening to you speak. Much more melodious than the English spoken here. You have lovely hands- I can tell you take care of them.
Hi Cheryl Happy Birthday🎂🎂 I buy the mini cucs too as fed up of a whole one going off. I wrap mine individually in kitchen roll keeps them longer xxx
banoffee pie on the horizon
I just love Dove bars.
The chocolate ones taste better though 😂
I love the smell of them! It's all I could smell in the car 😂
@@WhatsForTea Just occurred to me in the States what you know as Magnum bar is called a Dove bar. My joke flopped lol
@@jakematicfunny, but don't we have both Magnum and Dove in the US?
@@LindaC616 I think your right. I don't get out much anymore lol
@@jakematic isn't it funny though that we have both? If they're essentially the same thing I didn't realize they were the same company until now
I prefer shower gel because I think it's softer I did have a stout using bars of soap before and during the lockdown but I have gone back to shower gel.
Lamb lungs in haggis?? Oh dear......😂😂😂
Always enjoy your videos. Happy weekend.😊
Love it! Love it! I love the weekly shopping!❤❤❤❤
Happy birthday Cheryl.🎂
Surprised you are buying anything from Germany, Cheryl 😂😂😂
Happy Saturday Cheryl!
Thank you ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊have a wonderful weekend 😊
Happy Saturday Cheryl! Looks like a yummy week of meals. I’ve yet to try haggis but one day I will.
I did. It was OK. I wouldn't crave it ever, I don't think. Prefer stuffing
What's in haggis? ... Lamb lungs! 🤮🤣
Hiya Cheryl ❤ xx
Hey Wendy! 🤗

Do you like football or any sports?
Embarrassing about football.? I was so proud. Never thought we would win. We go there with such enormous enthusiasm. Win or lose. Best supporters in the world . And you are embarrassed. Wow. Shame on you
