- I arrived in Siem Reap 2 days ago.
The city is already surprising me with its quaint vibes, impressive cafes, co-working spaces and awesome food options.
In this video, I show you two spots I've enjoyed working from. One of them, Siem Reap House, is especially impressive for a tiny little city like Siem Reap to have.
the vlog is amazing and well described.
Thank you! 🙏
We have a 3$/day (including a cup of iced latte) coworking space in Phnom Penh around my condo. But the place you visited was more spacious and looked better. Welcome to Cambodia!
អរគុណ ☺️ I'm heading to Phnom Penh tomorrow! What's it called?
❤
I also like to mention this if you have time to visit Kampot and Kep Provinces more layback close to Ha Tien, Vietnam, only a few hours south of Phnom Penh.
Phnom Penh is more vibrant with a few million people comparing to Saigon and Bangkok.
Battambang is a few hours from Siem Reap but close to Thai border. It's still a sleepy town and it's well-known for millions of bats in the caves.
Currently, I'm in Nha Trang visiting friends and relatives who got separated during the Nam War.
Again, enjoy your travels 🎉
Really appreciate all the tips, thanks! 🙏
We love Cambodia. We’ve been there many times. The country is developing fast. People are super friendly, kind and welcoming. In fact, Cambodia voted “ the friendliest country on the planet” for many years. Cambodia is now the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia and third in the world.
@@happy4ever305 I can see why! Siem Reap and Phnom Penh have won me over. I’ll definitely be back ASAP!
Looks lovely. Great weather too x enjoy
@@janekershaw458 Thank you! It’s great weather right now, not too hot.
Cambodia has come a very long way since its civil war was officially ended in 1998 and the county started to develop within the last 20 years.
The whole country was destroyed from prolonged civil wars and families were torn apart from genocide in 1975 to 1979.
Most of my family members did not survive it and I had to escape the country in late 1979.
I've been returning to visit the country every years for the last ten years since my retirement from US.
Peace out from a genocide survivor. Enjoy your travels 🎉
Wow, sad to hear. It's surprising how quickly it has developed considering all this didn't happen too long ago. Here's to long-lasting peace for Cambodia!
@@martinrue ❤️✌️🎉
Love SR beautiful 😻
Officially influenced to visit Cambodia this year
Got to be done. I'm really impressed... I could 100% do a 3-monther here (if it were possible).
@@martinrueYou can apply for E-Visa aka Business Visa then you can renew it for 3, 6, or to a year very easily. Just find the local agent to process it for you with a small fee!
@@martinrue You can easily renew a tourist visa to E visa aka business visa for one year!
@ I did not know that. Thanks for the info!
@@martinrue Just check out with the local travel agents in Phnom Penh, they can take care it for you. You can renew it with 3, 6, and a year about $300. Cambodia has the most friendly visa in SE Asia!

Wow, that's NOT how I expected Cambodia to be!
One complaint I have in particular about Asia is that they keep making cities I want to live in. I'm getting sick of it. Can't they just stop being awesome?
This is great. I'd love to see Da Lat 😉 (all of the places you mentioned actually)
I've heard so many great things about Da Lat! I can't wait to be there in a few weeks, and I'll do my best to capture it on camera. 🙌
welcome to siem reap
អរគុណ!
I noticed in a video that there were just a few people on the roads, in a cafe, and in a coworking space. Is this normal for Siem Reap? It seems very different from many places in Thailand and Vietnam, which are often overcrowded.
I can't say for sure as it's my first time here, but for sure it's less busy than Thailand and Vietnam, as you say. Perhaps people just forget about Cambodia... I'm sure that'll change fast based on what it feels like to be here!
@martinrue, you presented a different perspective of Cambodia. It sometimes appears even more appealing than Vietnam - at least in the video. Nice job! 👏👏
@ Thanks! Yeah, it’s definitely a place that’s changing quickly based on what people here tell me. Saying that, I’m also really looking forward to being back in Vietnam again soon too :) There are just too many interesting places in Asia!
Siem Reap hasn't recovered back to pre-pandemic. Very very few Chinese tourists now.
Just for your safety, please wear a helmet while you were driving :)
