Just purchased one today. After driving a Mazda CX-30, not sure why anyone would go the Mazda over this. The Mazda was a hard ride with lots of road noise. Yes, it looks nice but it’s style over substance. Anyone who compares Mazda’s to European cars need to book in with their psychologist. For the money this is a winner! Great review.
How is it holding? Test drove a 2023 version. It's much roomier than both T-Roc and Mazda CX-30 and looks better than the T-Roc IMO. Between this and the CX-30, its either the roominess plus the smoother, quieter cabin of Renault, or the eye-candy cabin of CX-30. Driving wise, I didn't push the car, but don't think I could find any difference in 50 and 90 zone that I test drove it in.
@@Subh8081 I ended up selling it after about 8 months. I went back to a Subaru (which still craps on Mazda) it started to show why it a bit cheaper, squeaks in the cabin and was a little crashy over bigger bumps. It looks fantastic though but a bit of style over substance.
Arkana is a compact coupe-SUV and T-Cross is small SUV. Arkana is much bigger both externally and in internal space. Arkana's internal space also felt more roomier than CX-30. I feel it's true competitors in terms of interior size are Nissan Qashqai, Peugeot 3008, Toyota Corolla Cross, Volkswagen Tiguan, etc.
Aussie reviews have often compared Renault SUVs to smaller competitors. The Kadjar was reviewed against the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Kona. Who knows why!
For god sake, comparing the interior to TRoc and it’s hard plastic to this I’d take this any day. The interior of the Mazda is of great quality but it’s heavy, dark and dank in my opinion. This interior is light and airy and for the money is only matched by the Skoda Kamiq.
I really hoped we might get the hybrid version in Australia. I like the Arkana but my next car will have to have some kind of electrification. Hoping for more incentives and infrastructure in Oz to attract the good vehicles from Europe
The 160 is the old engine not very good I have the 130 r/s line. No rear wiper water runs in the boot every time you open door locks fail But the worst is the dealership network. They wanted me to wait six weeks just to look and then order parts keep well away
I like it! In the sea of same styled boxy cross overs/SUVS this stands out. Gotta give it to the French for remaining quirky. Although I'd probably get it in black or grey. White does make it look too busy. However in terms of package, all this just shy over $40k for top spec? I'm in! Sold!
odd, weird, different??? I guess having the cc logo plate in some shots and not in others could also be weird, personally i think the arkana looks decent, i'd drive it....
As a VW T Cross owner with the three cylinder 1.00 litre engine, I wouldn't trade up to this vehicle. Looks good and the 1332cc engine is spot on for efficiecy viz:- 333cc per cylinder. Honest review.
Interesting! I have the new Captur which is basically the same car, but for Captur it only takes 95 and 98 petrol... Maybe I can risk it and go 91🤣🤣 /s
Mate the boot space in this is amazing. There is plenty of room and more for a couple of dogs. Compared to the 2 examples this guy gave ( TRoc and CX30) the rear leg room and boot just can’t complete.
Sat in one yesterday. With the front seat slid all the way back, half the seat is blocked by the side panel. As a person who regularly transport people with disabilities, this makes getting in and out difficult for my passengers. Does that make sen see?
@@chasingcars I’m sorry but now, what assessment is discussing that you don’t like the design? Hard plastics below? Are you telling that it’s standard in the segment or is it just the Renault? Poor journalism

I tried it today and both the interiors and exteriors are much better than the T-Roc. Also for the same price you get so much more for your money.

Same. In addition, I do love the SUV-Coupe design, but don't relish the idea of forking out insane amounts of cash for it like the other brands.
Looks pretty good to me but would like to see an RS model with larger engine.
Whiter than most Americans teeth - love it 👍
OK, I found out a 160 Hybrid is sold in Europe. We absolutely need this model to be sold here asap

Sharkana or Tarkana- needs more oomph imho - need a Megane RS line as that is a car that I’d buy - great review as always
Sharkana RS
This car is far better than T-Cross. Not comparable. Cx30 is definitely relevant.
Earliest I've ever been on to a review! Love your work fellas!!
Much appreciated!

Can someone explain if black roof is coming along with the normal edition or costs extra?

nah dont. need the detergents and additives if not the octane rating itself.
Who’s asking for a coupe suv
No mention of a spare tyre?
It's a space saver spare
Technically speaking you could also consider the Toyota CH-R a coupe SUV, it’s even in the name, and is similarly priced but smaller…
Quite true.
Any comments regarding the Torsion Bar rear suspension it has V Multilink?
Is anyone getting, the cheap looking Alfa wheels?
pls renew Koleos.
my choice of french cars would be: 1)Peugeot, 2)Citroen, then 3)Renault.Actually I love design of Pugs
T cross better quality then arkana? 😮
So basically a jacked up Megane
Basically.
No, it's actually a longer Captur.
Can you make a Koleos review?
Tell as the price for service?
You said "the only affordable coupe suv" but isn't the new Citroën C4 also an affordable coupe suv?
Yes - but when this video was filmed the Citroen C4 wasn’t available in Australia.
I am just scared that the sloping fastback roof/hatch might not be great for 2 large dogs? Also, seems very high from ground to boot lip?

Name one SUV Coupe with wiper ? BMW,Mercedes or Porsche ? Nope so what is the Point it is a SUV Coupe 😅
