The thing about the sights is kinda funny, but this is just a fun fact for you: the real steel Gen5 sights often deliver low shots, they're not all the same actually, many switch them for Gen4 sights because of that. For the replica, I dont think they did that to prevent the low shots the Gen4 is known for. The Gen5 is half-blowback and achieves more FPS that way. It probably is just because the Gen4 was produced by KWC and the Gen5 is by WE or smth, so naturally parts won't end up identical.
Personally, just from a replica point of view, the gen 4 is far better than the gen 5 as it has a true single action trigger rather than having the double action (revolver style) trigger that the gen 5 has and pulling through the longer trigger pull is bound to effect accuracy (in much the same way that DA shooting does in a revolver). The lock back on the last shot with the gen 4 is a big plus point for me as well as the fact that it can be field stripped like the original too, just adds to the overall 'replica realism' . As for the higher rear sights on the gen 5, well I think that has more to do with compensating for pellet drop as pellets weigh more than steel BBs (pellets are generally > 7grains vs steel BBs at 5.1grains). I think that Glock's intention with the gen 5 was to make a 17 much more easier for prolonged carry, rounding the edges and reducing catch points makes it easier to pull from a holster and conversely put back into one too, the 'snag' factor has become a hot topic for gun designers over the last few years and Glock just wanted to fill that niche in the market. Flaring the mag well just makes reloads easier and quicker too, all round they were trying to regain a bit more of the market both in terms of civilian sales and the Police sectors too. In truth though when people say 'Glock' to me I immediately think of the ol' slab sides (the original G17) with it's lego gun looks and incredible reliability, which if you're looking for a day-to-day workhorse then the G17 is the right choice, irrespective of what gen you actually go for.
I got Gen 3 G19 bb and Gen 3 G17 pellet both are great only what I no like is paint bcs it came off quick and for me that G17 Gen 4 is myb most realistic air Glock looking of them all.
Not on these two. The mags are very different along with one being for pellets, the other for bb’s. I don’t have the dual ammo version of the Gen 4 which shoots both but that’s a different magazine again so I’d doubt it fits either of these.
Nice vlog about the Glock 17 Gen4 and the Gen5 ( 6mm ) airsoft . I have a decision to make: i have co2 🔫 airguns ( 4,5mm ). I have some Glock´s including 1 Glock 17 Gen3 ,Gen4 and a Gen5. Also 1 Glock 19X ( Coyote ) with recoil. The Gen3 and the 19X I keep,would you go for a Gen4 or for a Gen5? Comments and answers are welcome
Hi and thanks for watching. Just for clarity, the Gen 5 featured in this video is .177 pellet, not 6mm airsoft. In answer to your question though, I'm a little confused. It sounds like you already have 3 Glock 17's . Gen 3,4 and 5. Plus a 19x. Is that right? If so, what are you looking to buy that you don't already have? Apologies if i've missed the point here.
Hey @@airgunreplicas77 , Sorry for being unclear. I have indeed 4 glock´s (co 2 🔫) 4.5mm steel bb´s. I have 1 gen3,1 gen4 and a 1 gen5. Also 1 glock 19X coyote. Of those 4 glock´s I need to sell 1,but which one? Is it clearer now? BTW: Sorry for my bad English
@@jnsdm2442 No need to apologise mate and thanks for clarifying. Hmm it sounds like a difficult decision. Personally, I would keep the 19x as it’s pretty unique in the Glock lineup. I’d also keep the 17 gen 4 as it’s a fully functioning and field strippable replica. Which leaves the Gen 5 and the Gen 3. I haven’t had my hands on a Gen 3 Glock 17 so can’t comment. Or is it the Glock 19 Gen 3 you have? So you could sell that but it’s probably the one you’ll get least money for, or the Gen 5. Hope that helps but ultimately the decision is still yours unfortunately.
Thanks for your quick reply@@airgunreplicas77 . Then I'll keep the Glock 17 Gen4 and the 19X coyote, that's already certain, thanks for your answer. And yes I mean a glock 17 Gen3, check it out on RUclips. I even think the Gen3 shoots harder than the Gen5. The Gen5 shoots 100 m/s and the Gen3 shoots 115 m/s i thought. Probably saying goodbye to my Gen5 🤷♂️ . Thanks man, also for your second opinion etc.. 👌 Now I'm out 😉
@@purpleman5564 some replica air guns can be taken apart (field stripped) without tools so that you can perform maintenance/cleaning etc. The Gen 5 pellet pistol in this video isn’t one of those guns. It doesn’t function in the same way as the Gen 4 bb (the other pistol featured) so the parts are not interchangeable between the guns in this case.
It’s hard to give your video a thumbs up when you didn’t even think about letting us hear the gen 4 chock when that kind of thing is important to an observer. I will never-understand it with air gun video presenters.

Ah interesting about the sights, thanks.
To make gen 5 Stronger. Weakin the spring so the blowback is more intense. Order 6mm steel bbs. And always keep your barrel clean.

Can we strip a Gen4. Gen5 cannot be stripped
The gen4 bb can be stripped. The gen 5 pellet cannot. There may now be a gen 5 bb that can be but I don’t own one so not sure.
Are the gen 4 & 5 mags interchangeable?

Whats the gloves for
Which is more accurate mate
The Gen 5 pellet is more accurate in my opinion. Thanks for watching!
Dumb question, but would a Gen 5 airsoft, fit all the internals for the Gen 4 air gun?
Honestly no idea mate but, assuming you could remove everything and reattach in the same places, I’d expect the frames to be pretty similar.
@@airgunreplicas77 all right thank you I will for sure do some more research into that

gen 4 4.5mm vs gen 5 4.5mm steel
Which is more powerful? Could you please tell me that!
Gen 4 will field strip, correct?
Yes. The bb version of the gen 4 field strips.

Not in the case of these two replicas, no. The Gen 4 is field strippable whereas the Gen 5 is not.

sorry for being stupid but does the gen 5 shoot bbs
The one featured here only shoots pellets but there is a gen 5 bb version I think

9xp with a blue Lazer spot

put in the title that they are BB guns please
