Another wonderfully informative video - thank you. Great that you fill in some of the history and architecture as well as noting the variable quality of the surface - and some alternative options. This is so encouraging.

Very nice! This video brought back memories of my own cycle trip on this route. Despite the lack of cycle paths I enjoyed EV1 Spain more than any other route in Europe. It was so nice in my tent at night having cheap wine and fuet sausage from the supermarket Mercadona.

I was going to cycle this one after doing France, but thought it didn't seem well thought out. I did the Camino del Norte instead on my touring bike. It worked out very well except for pushing uphill into Bilbao. It's very good on the coast. I found gpx tracks on the web. Some better than others. You end up where you can fly home from, and they have boxes to pack you bike in. For Portugal next time I'm going to do the Camino from Lisbon. EV1 in Portugal ends in an odd place. Strangely on Google maps it shows that you can't cycle north from that town!

How do you find your information about the trails you take? I would love to go to Europe to cycle when the pandemic is over.

The most interesting leg of EuroVelo 1 in southern Europe is that between Salamanca and Sagres. I have not made this video open to the public yet, because the music license must still be cleared. You can already have a look at ruclips.net/video/EzyWYapz9sA/видео.html
In it I also discuss the problems of finding informations about the best route to take.
If you have never cycled in Europe before, chose for your first trip a dedicated cycle path: EuroVelo 6 somewhere between Nantes and Slovenia or the "Long Trail of the Dolomites" through the Alps. Avoid high season in July and August. Everything will be crowded an expensive.
