I can not thank you enough for the all the work you do. Thank you Mr. walker & thank you Mrs. Shanell for posting this video. Much love and respect from the states.
Btw, I learnt all about this growing up from reading old newspapers articles, books and sharing stories/history with my fellow African Americans here in the states. It really shows what black people can do (not just in America but globally) when we work together.
The sad part about this story is that it was not taught to us in our American history books.

Brother Robin Walker teaches us an all round African community in Tulsa Oklahoma, where we had our own grocers, our own clinics and our own banks where racists unjustly bombed to death our brothers and sisters who were harmless.
Big up to you Brother Robin Walker for your uplifting teaching of our history. Plus, our old school funk group the GAP Band who got their names after streets of Greenwood, Archer and Pine in Tulsa Oklahoma.

And here today, in 2016, in Oakland I can't even find one Black grocery store.

I am from Oakland too..Your black Muslim bakery (an off shoot of the nation of islam)Had a main bakery on San Pablo ave..And they had several outlets throughout the community and delivered as far as Santa Cruz to white own natural grocery stores..When I would go to the bakery I would see white people in line all the time buying food or sitting outside eating.. Dr Bay used to tell me that if it wasn't for caucasians he would be out of business because black people are too divided with religion And would Not patronize his business..Not even the church that was next door to his bakery.

The GAP Band get their name from black wall street. ( Greenwood,Archer,&Pines streets.) Also the song; "You Drop the Bomb on Me" is a dedication to the people of black wall street.

"We were in motion, felt like lotion
You were the girl for me
      You were the first explosion
      Turned out to be corrosion
You were the first for me
But you turned me out, baby"
Yeah, maybe you should've read the lyrics before you made that stretch.

We need to get back to the teachings of Booker T Washington. It was his tireless work that inspired the founders of Black Wall Street (O.W. Gurley & Jean Baptiste Stradford) to build this magnificent city😊

Interesting how the Native Americans supposedly had slaves but it turned out the slaves became more successful than the Native Americans in Oklahoma. The Native Americans, who were black, had their own people as slaves. Slave is another word for worker or laborer in the thesaurus. There's a lot of misinformation about Slavery and African culture.

It would not be possible for black people to succeed in a world of white racial hatred. It was simply envy and not accepting the evolution of black people anywhere in the world, which is why Africa is still underdeveloped today due to the will of white people. Thank you for the lesson teacher, peace and lots of love from Mozambique

So why are there no successful black communities in the world today?

    • @suhcars8395
      @suhcars8395 6 лет назад +1

No. But I know there are no successful black communities. None in Africa, none in the islands around America, none in America, none in Europe, none in the South Pacific Islands, none in Australasia, or anywhere else. Not even one suburb or street with a majority black population is without crime, violence and ugly mess. Smart black people move to white neighbourhoods, period.

A Person. Yes there are black professionals, (which proves there's no institutional racism). But the fact that there are zero successful black communities anywhere in the world should tell the blacks that they need to take some personal responsibility, and stop blaming white people for their position in life (blacks living in countries with no white people are worse off). It's 2018, and it's time to stop pretending.

    • @suhcars8395

A Person. Name me a successful black community, I would like to investigate. My views are based on evidence and reason, not fake mental gymnastics, like what you need to use to make excuses for the black community. Many other minority groups in the West make more average income than white people. Why do minority groups such as the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Indians and Vietnamese have massive success in the 'racist' West? I'll tell you why, it's because they have higher average intelligence, work hard to overcome barriers, and don't make excuses.
