Yeah I remember seeing her head shadow change around the fourth mission it was such a neat detail, also explains how Six was strong enough to take down that many predators virtually by herself
Because originally, she was gonna slowly morph into a Praetorian over the course of the game. This idea was scrapped but you can still see that they were initially developing this idea hence the shadow which wasn't fixed for the final release.
I'm not surprised, Marine Story is just the regular basic Ending you see all the time. Predator was cool, but a Alien evolve into a Queen is so satisfying.
When multiplayer was more consistent and had an active population, I’d pretend that my Praetorian skin WAS 6. Yes, I’m well aware that there’s an actual 6 skin, but I like to treat it as the Praetorian 6’d become before turning into a Queen.
The Alien arc was by far the best, and was a triumph of technology at the time the game was released. Even the reviews for the game noted that the Marine campaign was "basic" and the Predator campaign was "interesting, but not unique or challenging". But the Alien campaign, with its immersive storytelling and its 6 degrees of freedom of movement, really made you feel like you were actually playing a Xenomorph from the movies.
Wait now that i noticed it,six had the chance to kill the elite predator with the head bite but purposely chose to wait for him to counter attack so hed think he won and she could get a crippling blow on him...smart girl
Yeah but on second thought, if the plan was to get a facehugger to implant its eggs and burst out of its belly, wouldn't making a huge hole in its stomach be kind of...counterproductive?
1. in the cutscene at the end we see Doctor Groves the man who had imprisoned you in the beginning of the game and ran away when you broke containment. 2. all the stories are linked in one way or another because when 6 emerges and see the refinery burning is the moment after you defeat the queen as rookie while in the predator campaign you show up long after the queen was killed
I do think jts a bit disjointed between the Marines and Predators campaigns. Marines, few survivors. Predators? A shit ton of reinforcements out of nowhere.
Alien campaign goes on its own until like mission 4 when the marine campaign starts. The Predalien is first seen in mission 2 of the predator campaign so clearly it's after the Xeno campaign. I imagine his campaign starts at like mission 3 or possibly even 4 of the marine campaign

6 had the best story. I never understood why people hated the alien camera/movement it was awesome to me and not an issue. I thought the whole game was ahead of its time and absolutely amazing. Especially multiplayer
It had the same problem that the Descent games had: the six degrees of freedom of movement is extremely disorienting to people who do not have good spatial orientation capabilities. Do you know that if you apply to be a pilot in the Navy, they give you a test to gauge your spatial orientation and awareness capabilities, because it's something that cannot be trained? You either can grasp it or you cannot. The test consists of 150 "questions" which are all multiple-choice. They consist of either sketches looking out an airplane's cockpit follower with sketches of planes in various orientations of flight and the converse. You have to line up the "question" sketch with the correct "answer" sketch. You have 15 minutes to answer the 150 questions. That means that you have to answer 10 questions every minute to get through all of them -- an average of 1 question every 6 seconds. I did exceptionally well on the test, which likely explains why I didn't have any issues playing the Xenomorph!
The multi-player in this game, albeit I experienced it for like a total of a week, was some of the beat pvp I played, over many many shooters. A remaster or sequel would be epic af.
It was such a fun game. Glad I got the chance to play the MP and just dominated as a Marine. I feel like a lot of Marine players just ignored the fact that they have motion detectors(Just like in Halo) so it was also fun just abusing the poor Marines.

Sadly it seems Xenomorph eggs do better in hot climates since the Queen is always looking for the warmest areas to brood. She's not there because she ISN'T aware of the danger, it's because it's the warmest place she can find to develop her eggs. That's why the Hive guards these areas so heavily, but clearly it takes time and resources to build up the numbers needed. Queen Mother can only do so much with what she's got and can only do things so fast. Probably why she was watching Six so closely since she needed Six to become a Queen to help her build up their numbers.
Matriarch is such great mother she did never give up to support her hive though she was very old still didn't give up anf Six gave her taste of freedom for short time when Matriarch died Six felt so much pain and sad she cruled up her like ball like cats she will find Rookie and make him pay this game proves that Xenomorphs are not the villains

I live this game because I loved playing as both aliens and predators. The human campaign was even cool. But I must say my favorite campaign was the predator campaign. I'd love a sequel to this game or even just another game like this but my hopes aren't very high sadly.
@@MrDosonhaiwell you were brought onto the ship as a praetorian, there's a lot of time between escape and molting into a queen. (6 still looks like a warrior in the cutscene but the devs wanted her to be a praetorian, there just wasn't time to rerender/adjust it)
@@MrDosonhai you could have a hoard mode like gears or war and instead of being able to use the Brumak you could be the Queen. The Queen is vicious.. not just for eggs.. they just don’t have the money to put the Queen in many scenes due to budget and how big the animatronic was in film - also the original creator of Aliens wasn’t a fan of the Queen created by James Cameron in the 3rd film.

I would love a game only about aliens. And the life cicle. You start as a face hugger. And you can choose on the planet what you want to infect. Animals, humans. Never seen before iterations of aliens. Predators. Engineers. And then you evolve, and in the end like in this game, you can be a queen and have a hive. And control them, and take over the planet. What an awesome game it could be

I'm new to the whole AVP universe, so I don't really know much about it but I'm kinda surprised the xenos were able to beat the Predators, I thought they were the ultimate hunters?
It’s a story mode, of course they win when you play as them. I’d say one experienced predator should be a fair fight against 5 regular xenos. Remember in AVP series they are generally not using their plasma casters because it’s too easy-they seek honor in winning with brute strength or sport hunting gear.
Xenos can be very individualistic. Most will struggle fighting a Yautja (Predator) one on one but some individuals have the skill to do so. A single Xenomorph in the first AVP movie killed 2 Yautja by itself.
The predators love hunting the xenomorphs precisely because they can fight back and win Hunting is very important to them so having prey that hunts you back is their wet dream
My only wish for this game was that there was some sort of Life Cycle mechanic like in the previous two games. Other than that, phenomenal story and gameplay. Sticks true to the Alien Cinematic feel.
If I remember correctly, all three of these campaigns were inter-linked with each other because in the Marine campaign is when you deal with the original queen, the same queen you see being burned at the end of the Xenomorph campaign.
Not to be "that" guy, but wouldnt the number 6 marking naturally delete itself when the alien molted? Or at the very least become faded more with each molt?
We can't exactly expect Xenomorphs to be logical in the conventional way since they are, by their very nature, VERY unconventional and technically shouldn't be able to exist. So my best guess for her scar is that multiple layers of her exo-skeleton were burned and having been so young when she received it, her armor just converged into that shape. She had to develop what would be her armor-like crown carapaces as a Queen, which is more like bone then "skin," in order to fully remove the damage done to her head. It can also be looked at as allegorical: as number six, she's part of a Hive, but as a Queen she IS the Hive.
Lowkey wished we had our first game appearance of the legendary King Xenomoroh when 6 was evolving I think the elite predator was supposed to represent someone like Hunter in the AVPR movie So canonically, 6 defeated a predator that can body an army of xenomorphs

As others have mentioned, the 6 xenomorphs that break out (with 6 herself being the first to break out) eventually molt into Praetorians ''The Queen's Guard'' basically, and in most accepted forms of cannon Praetorians are able to molt into a new Queen if the old Queen dies and the hive doesn't have any ''royal facehuggers'' available. Basically, Xenomorphs have so many ways to keep the hive going that it's insane...
This game really is a half and half mixed bag. On the one hand the graphics, Character and Environment design looks gorgeous and still holds up today. The Animations, especially of the Aliens is great. The Predator might just has the best FPS Controls in the entire series, including this Predator Multiplayer Game. But on the other side the game basically has no story, it retcons the Xenomorphs existence by making them Predator Pets, so to speak, The Gameplay is a linear slog, no way to explore the map as you want. The Alien "Story" if you cna call it that, is just go there and kill everything. Every Characters through the same Maps. I really wish this game was a combination of AvP 2010 gameplay and graphics and AvP 2s world and Story.
AvP Prey had the seeding concept and it predates Alien 3, which is why all the Xenomorphs were the classic design despite mostly coming from sheep things.
listen, i get that number six is strong and clever, but the fact that she managed to kill 2 YAUTJAS plus 1 ELITE WOLF predator is wild, no way considering a wolf elite predator can go toe to toe with a predalien, makes 0 sense, it should have been celtic pred vs 6, and then wolf should be the elite pred you play in order to kill the abomination that 6 created by defeating hunter (celtic), makes more sense!

So this is what a normal player looks like. No wonder I mauled people in pvp. Also try beating the game on nightmare. You might think of thoughts predators different. So different you fight a way to break there ai😂

I didn’t enjoy 6’s part of the game as much as the others, mainly because the gameplay left me confused and occasionally nauseated.
I thought they had to be born Queens
As others have mentioned, the 6 xenomorphs that break out (with 6 herself being the first to break out) eventually molt into Praetorians ''The Queen's Guard'' basically, and in most accepted forms of cannon Praetorians are able to molt into a new Queen if the old Queen dies and the hive doesn't have any ''royal facehuggers'' available.
Basically, Xenomorphs have so many ways to keep the hive going that it's insane...

The queen 6 & marines story run at the same time so the queen the marine killed was replaced by 6 which is why 6 collapses at the end
This game really is a half and half mixed bag.
On the one hand the graphics, Character and Environment design looks gorgeous and still holds up today. The Animations, especially of the Aliens is great. The Predator might just has the best FPS Controls in the entire series, including this Predator Multiplayer Game.
But on the other side the game basically has no story, it retcons the Xenomorphs existence by making them Predator Pets, so to speak, The Gameplay is a linear slog, no way to explore the map as you want. The Alien "Story" if you cna call it that, is just go there and kill everything. Every Characters through the same Maps.
I really wish this game was a combination of AvP 2010 gameplay and graphics and AvP 2s world and Story.
Are they not just predator pets? Predators basically enjoy hunting them. Not to say it’s easy, but they enjoy it a lot.
AvP Prey had the seeding concept and it predates Alien 3, which is why all the Xenomorphs were the classic design despite mostly coming from sheep things.
Six remembers everything she saw, She knows how to work basic switches and machines.
Essentially she's the most dangerous Queen to ever exist.

... Which is required to become a queen. You can literally see the Praetorian webbed up in resin, then it molts. Queen form emerges.

listen, i get that number six is strong and clever, but the fact that she managed to kill 2 YAUTJAS plus 1 ELITE WOLF predator is wild, no way considering a wolf elite predator can go toe to toe with a predalien, makes 0 sense, it should have been celtic pred vs 6, and then wolf should be the elite pred you play in order to kill the abomination that 6 created by defeating hunter (celtic), makes more sense!
I don't like the "Ancient Aliens" canon. I like the part where engineers started it off and left it alone.
