      strfltcmnd. Hate when people like you, which say that crap of “ooooo, his only remorse was getting caught.” What if he is really sincerely and genuinely feels remorse of his actions. You can’t make any assumptions that fall under your conclusions. You don’t/feel someone’s grief just based on your biased view. However, he probably does feel remorse of committing his action despite of being caught.

      Alejandro Perez I understand your point but his body language says otherwise. The way he acted in court was not a man who felt remorse for his actions. Glaring/staring at the other attorney, the way he walks away at the end, nothing suggests he felt sorry for what he had done.

You see I was an employee of the Salvation Army working in downtown Los Angeles on Skid Row in the yard helping lost souls build their lives back. The employees that the salvation army takes in our people that have hearts of gold and that will die for you literally these people are angels and it's plain to see it in their eyes and In Their Manners. Most civilised countries have abolished the death penalty.

      However, to address your first part, it IS unfortunate that sometimes an innocent person is executed. Even if they are falsely convicted and put in prison without being executed it is still unfortunate. But think about the opposite. Look at how many murderers are set free only to commit even more murders. There's a lot. Think of all the lives that would have been saved if the death penalty was carried out the first time they committed murder.

      So "life without parole" doesn't actually mean that?
      I know that convicts sentenced to life get out, but that's because they're paroled.

    • @rorylapidus5772
      @rorylapidus5772 4 года назад +4

      @@charlesvan13 I know a gang member who killed a cop in Oceanside California when he was around 16. He was given life without the possibility of parole, and tried as an adult. However in 2010, (maybe before 2010), his case was being appealed because he was under 18 at the time of the offense. I think it had something to do with the state supreme court ruling that children couldn't be given life without the possibility of parole, or something to that effect.
      I lost touch with him and didn't follow his case but many times this type of thing happens where a person could be given a revised sentence due to state or federal supreme court rulings, or various law changes, or even cases where inmates are granted pardons. It's rare, but can happen.
      Also keep in mind many people who are given life sentences with the possibility of parole never get out. If family members of the victim(s) show up and give impact statements the defendant has a major long shot at being granted parole. It happens but not that commonly. Life sentences often are life sentences.
      One thing I have seen judges do is given multiple 100+ year sentences, so unless they are pardoned they will never be released. It is a more effective sentence in many states to keep people locked up forever.
