The first house definitely had squatters. I say that because you found those needles in one room and all those bags of chips. When that door slammed shut I was scared someone was coming in. These two were lovely and simple villas. Showing a more simpler time, you can only imagine how it was. I do like the high skirting boards, the doors and the mini orb ceiling is it in the hallway of the second one? Those low door ways, early settlers must have been a little on the short side😂. There was a creepy outline of a person on the floor of one of the front rooms.😱 Eeeeek!! Tell me if I'm wrong.
Thanks Urbex Indigo for filming two very interesting old cottages, each with unique history. Judging by the height of the interior doors, the first cottage was a lot older and also felt really creepy, like someone was watching you. Evidently some belongings have been left behind and people have come into the dwellings to engage in particular activities. The second cottage was your typical early 1900s Victorian villa style home with higher ceilings. Such a shame two old cottages will be lost forever and replaced with modern developments.
Hey Julz! Cheers for digging up the land titles again :-) Yeah the needles def mean hang out for drug users. I guess they come and go like other spots ive explored. Shame the old homes were not better maintained. Cheers for watching :-)
Hubby and I jumped a bit when the front door opened(that could be because we had just been watching Slapped Ham "ghost videos" though). I liked the second house. It must have been lovely and cozy when it was first built.
That was scarier than walking through a haunted house. Not afraid of ghost but people jumping out at me, yes. Thought we were going to have to see you go savage. 😃. Like the simple shape of the first house with the tin roof. Thanks for sharing
Hi Debra , yeah I thought for sure a squatter may have been in the first one! :-) Always prepared to disarm the situation though. Cheers for watching :-)
It made me jump when the door slammed shut, I think your rather brave to go alone to these places, thanks for sharing these fascinating places that someone once called home, I it’s very sad.
Loving the coral coloured rose, imagine the heavenly scent. Oh you crack me up, doors banging closed, it would scare the socks off me too. "🎵🎶strangers in the night, exchanging glances🤔🤣😂" 2nd house, love the tiled verandah. Just a thought, but I wonder if the squatters could have burnt the mantels in fireplaces to keep warm, they appear not to care about the premises? Our late 50's home had all bedrooms on 1 side of hallway, all other rooms i.e. longeroom, kitchen and bathroom otherside. Mum and dad had the same stove as this one as their replacement stove, more wondwrful memories for me, thank you Paul, I'm loving it💓
Looks like whoever lived there up and left and the squatters moved in. That bed looked recently slept in and all the dishes on the living room floor all point to people living there. Looks like a cozy little house. Very small one level. Maybe the people who lived there died and the house was left abandon. The good thing is that there is no graffiti inside. An interesting and enjoyable video. Thanks for letting us tag along. Please take care of yourself and stay safe.

Hi. 2 great finds, i like the smaller bungalow less cleaning to do lol , they do look tired & dated so i'm all for them being demolished i think small dwellings like this have far to big gardens & if you just look at the land there is i can see why they want to build on them , gardens only need to be small i think the average person spends to much time trying to keep them in some kind order & nature will always win. Tfs. :-)
I jumped when the wind blew the door😁 I wonder what the homes looked like back when, before all the cars, when the dirt road was in and the trees lined the streets. Folks were shorter back then and needed the large windows for light. You're right about the development folks not being able to wait to put up milti-ugly buildings to get the most out of the property's. Those homes were once luved and taken care of. es como volver al pasado, en estas casas, cuando los dueños fallecen dejan todo aqui, lo unico que nos llevamos es la experiencia de vivir de forma feliz con las personas queridas y las mascotas de compañia. es lo mejor que se puede hacer en esta vida pasajera.
Symmetric cottage looks late 1880s/early 1890s, with the rough stonework and low doorway height. The other looks to be 1900s. I think both of the verandahs were add-ons. The "outdoor" bathroom is curious...
Being from the United States, I don't get the room arrangement with the bedroom in the front and the living room in the back. Quite the opposite of our setup. If there a particular reason for that, or is it just a preference? Also, something else I've noticed. Do Australians not like two-story homes? I just have not seen a lot of abandoned videos featuring them. Loved the tours. Thanks for sharing.
Great questions Jackie ☺firstly the newer homes here do not follow this room set up, the older ones like this always had the kitchens right at the back and therefor living and dining close to them. Bedrooms were then left to the front end. 2 story were not common due to the very hot summers here and before electricity and air conditioning the heat was unbarable upstairs lol So a single level ho1ome with very high ceilings and a hall from front to,back door was the most common set up back then to combat the hot, summers
I must say very multi coloured walls the outside was nice shame about the mess inside and that it will be gone soon would have been lovely in it’s glory history going they both felt a bit sad and errie
Before a big demo job near me, a specialist team was called to remove about 15 years of drug addicts rubbish, Public WC's closed down due to drug usage
Someone was definitely squatting there at some stage. It breaks my heart that there are so many homeless people with no where else to go. Edit: If people were homeless bc of drugs then that is a different story!
Can anyone explain why the bathrooms are outside the house in so many of these homes? I have seen one that was built in the 60's, really beautiful house but you have to walk outside to get to the bathroom. I find that so strange but there must have been some reason.

Hi Ruth, yeah people were shorter back then and the doors were also more narrow haha :-) Yes big block of town houses going up here, shame these old houses were not in better condition. Cheers for watching :-)
@@urbexindigo5164 Hey Paul if you ever get to America we have some really neat old homes here and Victorian Inns. There's a great pub that the British didn't burn in town that has great food and drink. I'd buy you a nice meal and 🍺🍻🍺
It's haunted too ! Cheers back 👻
We could metal detect ...I have 2 of them. 😊

Classic old Hills Hoist clothes line. Clutter left behind by a squatter, signs of drug usage. Handy big wheely bin for the rubbish

Ladny domek pozdrawiam mariola
small houses but interesting. What kind of bird is that? Dove? pigeon? Love to hear all the Aussie birds in your videos. Thanks
Hi Eileen, glad you enjoy all the Aussie bird song, not sure what ones were being vocal but quite possibly pigeons and willie wagtails :-) Thanks for watching
@@urbexindigo5164 It made a very loud who who like our mourning doves or a owl would.
@@marybethsmith6458 Oh yes they are our Pigeons :-)
Thanks.
@@ospreyyy1 they are called turtle doves. They have a spot pattern on the back of the neck, and very common in Adelaide.
Somebody is staying in these houses stuff you find don’t touch
this tells the owners somebody came in do be very careful.
Yeah definitely was in the second one Jodie, thanks for watching :-)
That last one was a shotgun style we call it in the states. Must have been for tiny people lol. It was a little weird.
Cheers for watching Vonda, :-)
Cool 😀
Thanks for watching Micheal :-)
@@urbexindigo5164 😀
Pretty
thanks😍
I think when you went in the back door someone went out the front you really should be careful of sharps uncapped needles can be deadly
Hi stranger! Cool vid
why were the ceilings so high & the doorways so short ?
@@urbexindigo5164 Thanks for replying and explaining. That makes a great deal of sense.
I must say very multi coloured walls the outside was nice shame about the mess inside and that it will be gone soon would have been lovely in it’s glory history going they both felt a bit sad and errie
Hi Megan, yes sad and tired, not very well looked after which is a shame. Thanks for watching :-)
Before a big demo job near me, a specialist team was called to remove about 15 years of drug addicts rubbish, Public WC's closed down due to drug usage
So it was a house for tiny people!!! 😳😂🕊️🧞🧚🤔🙆
Haha yes I think so L L :-)
Yes the screen door was completely open.
Someone was definitely squatting there at some stage. It breaks my heart that there are so many homeless people with no where else to go. Edit: If people were homeless bc of drugs then that is a different story!
Me encantan sus vídeos. Lástima que no pueda entenderlo porque está en inglés. Soy Argentina. Pregunto si se podría traducir al castellano. Gracias
Hi Lili, glad you are enjoying these videos. I will see if I can do captions for other languages. Thanks for watching :-)
People pay a lot of money to rent something like that in Los Angeles.
It's so cute. I would totally live there if I had enough money to restore it.
What's up with the random bathroom? 😂
Those 2 1900 houses had potential back in the day , now those 2 houses are falling apart ready to get knocked down
Hi Simon, yeah shame there were not better maintained over the years :-)
@@urbexindigo5164 if those 2 houses were maintained they would offed been more livable
Having to step out back door to use restroom and shower?? lol is that common there? I get upset because my laundry room is detached! Lol
In houses in Australia you have to go outside to get into the bathroom?
Hope someone would buy the house and restore it and make it a home for someone to buy to live it
Nope, nope, nope, I'd be outta there in a flash if that door did that to me.
Haha it was a bit creepy hey Tia`s Mum :-)
Can anyone explain why the bathrooms are outside the house in so many of these homes? I have seen one that was built in the 60's, really beautiful house but you have to walk outside to get to the bathroom. I find that so strange but there must have been some reason.
