I love the running bit Chris and Jen do by over selling their movie I think I've seen them do it and every single one of their promotional videos/talk shows and it's hilarious and I love how much they've committed to this bit.
Two of my favorite actors, hands down. As for the "awkwardness," I think that's part of their banter. I don't think they actually FEEL awkward. They're actors, they're comedic, they create different humorous facets of how they interact with each other. I think it's just another way they humor each other.
I was just thinking they should do more movies together cause I find their chemistry to be incredible lol people keep trying to find something bad to talk about.
The joke that starts at 9:27 is probably one of the most clever and funniest I've ever heard. You have to watch the entire interview to understand the context.

I would love to see an alternate (maybe short?) film done based on an alternate timeline where Chris & Jennifer's characters don't wake up (en-route) and actually meet each other on the new planet! Would be interesting to explore their characters as they wake up, realize the gravity of what they've decided to do, have some sort of idea of what's happened to Earth in all those years, adventures on the new planet or what have you. That alone would make a fascinating film!
I know this whole conversation happened 4 years/7 months ago.. but I was binge watching interviews and felt I should chime in :D. My thought is that I feel like the movie would make a great series. Like voicetube was saying.. seeing them actually meet on Homestead II would be super interesting. Either by complete hibernation OR they find a way to get each other in pods again back to sleep. I’m not a huge sucker for Netflix series, but it would be something I could see myself watching!

Even though this movie wasn't SUPER blockbuster- successful, it is well-known enough that it could be a launching point for a Netflix/Amazon series, indeed. There would be a little creative license in changing the outcome of the film to suit the series, but that's been done before. One notable example might be the movie Logan's Run. There was a somewhat successful TV series that came out of it but that might not have followed with the narrative extant at the end of that film (or possibly the LR book, as well?). In reading your comment, I could indeed see it being called, simply "Homestead." Or maybe "Homestead II." I am enough of a fan of the film that indeed I would go out of my way to watch that one. This may be a little cheeky, but if some showrunner were to see our comments and actually move forward with that idea, I would hope they might reach out and offer us a sliver of the profits! LOL :-)

I thought of the plot a little more too.. maybe the ship had a rough time with orbiting resulting in the ship breaking down in areas. Thus uniting Jim (the mechanic) and Aurora (a writer documenting the status). They begin to get to know each other of course, falling in love. As they make Homestead, well, home.. they consider a child. As Jim is seeking a full life on the new planet, Aurora remembers HER goal with life (be the first to make a round trip). This causes a complication in the story as they both want different ways of life. I’m sure there’s so much more you could think of!

They have a lot of chemistry. They know it. We ALL know it. Thing here is that he's married, and they are FRIENDS, nevertheless, it is a bit complicated to try and keep a friendly relantionship because sometimes the chesmitry is so strong and evident that there are moments where the lines blurr a bit, specially when they are relaxed, must have noticed about that themselves and are trying their best to keep their relationship platonic and along the friendly things we all do. My two cents on this thing lol

But the fact that, for the most part of this interview, they were looking straight at each other to answer the questions tells you that they are comfortable with each other.
As someone who's seen all her interviews, ever, I agree. There's something weird about them, they always seem a bit uncomfortable @ each other, compared to say Jen + Liam/Josh
