Yo!! Sorry about the delay on this one, I was down visiting family for the first time since the start of COVID and needed to make time for it, but now we're back! Not only was this a really fun weekend with my friends at the bike park, but also a really interesting opportunity to see myself riding the exact same stuff back to back 3 years apart. Crazy how much has changed; stoked to hear what ya'll think and see! :P
Dude! So awesome to see you ride parts of the DH Worldcup track. Really puts in perspective how knarly it is and what incredible skills the DH pros have
So stoked to see vids from you especially focused on your progress and message. You are a big part of helping me over my first year of riding. Thanks and look forward to seeing more.
This video was a blast. I love it! My wife and I are "older" and we take our grandson out on rides. Nothing crazy greens and mild blues. No jumps or anything. My grandson brags to his friends about how fast I ride and that he can barely keep up. What he doesnt know is some of the faster areas scare the crap out of me. I just love to have fun with my family. I dont have a "riding friends" yet. I like to stick pretty close to our family but I'll make friends soon enough. I'm sure of it.
I know Ty from whitewater and my old Asheville days, and ended up meeting your briefly when saying hi to him over at the top of Western. So stoked on this one, it's incredible to see the progression over three years. Oh, and..... that OG video with Joe was one I watched before I made my first trip to the shoe. Now Ali and I practically live there in the summers.
Dude taking your trail bike to the park is the move. One long day on my Ripley at Deer Valley, and my riding speed on singletrack is now significantly faster. No more fear (of speed) braking. All it took was sketchy park laps on a short travel bike.
The progression is real and the comparison of the jump trail then and now you have gotten soo better at riding keep on fixing Machinicals ,riding, having fun, and getting stoked DUDE😎😎🤘🤘
Hey dude, a couple of days ago I was scared of a big gap jump and then I watched one of your videos about riding more confident and after that I did it so thank you dude!
It's amazing what 3 years can do. I noticed just the other day doing a black trail I first rode in 2018, when I was just starting to really commit to mountain biking and attempted it as my first real black level trail. In 2021 I rode it again (only fourth time since 2018) and was 6 minutes faster (12 vs 18) and had no "moments". I imagine I stopped or slowed to check out some stuff back then, but even so my latest run is a fair tick faster. Obviously still slower than the fastest people that can do it 3 minutes faster still, but making solid progress.
Its fun comparing this with Bernard Kerr's recent footage from Snowshoe. This really shows how gnarly it actually is! Happy to see another Singletrack vid!!
I’m from WV, and have spent so many days here.. Went one towards the end of ski season and where it had been so warm that year snowboarding was completely a nogo. So we decided to rent a bikes, I had skated and rode bmx all my life….Needless to say it was all over from there…. You should come back in the winter also..
Topnotch video, Alex! & SO good to see a woman biking with you! Before I saw Mel, I had literally JUST been thinking, "Dang, don't these guys EVER invite a woman biker on their adventures!?!" :-D I definitely enjoyed the massive progress you've made in 3 years, Alex, (WOW!!)..AND it also added to the fun to see a woman "of a certain age" taking on this challenging trail. (I've never had the chance to mt. bike (I'm a skier), but it sure was cool to see a woman biker slaying those trails!) I know from my experiences with women's skiing groups that women tend to laugh a lot more watching each other learn, and we focus more on the fun we have together rather than the "competitiveness" of who is "best." Hope you guys do the same! Thanks, Alex, for each and every super video that you share with us! More, more, more! (As time and energy permits.) ;->
crazy! I just found you today. This morning in fact. First vid I seen was you at noonday track which I grew up around. And now in this video your riding WV where ive been living for the last 6-7 years. Great riding man
Ah, progression is fun. We did the same thing with my wife at Angel Fire... there are some things that were just terrifying 3 years ago, but now, it's just 'normal'. Always something to work on :)
Congrats on how far you have come!!! I loved that certain mannerisms carried then and now. Fun to see how far GoPro quality has come on the same spots.
Always love your videos bro. Makes my day to see a new one. Definitely seeing the improvement in your camera work and editing since I first started watching. Quality entertainment for sure 🤘🏻
A five month break the Stoke was really going down but it’s great to see any other great video. It might be often but whenever you do post they are always great. I’ve been waiting at my phone for a notification to say you posted. So glad to see you back at Whistler. Have fun, ride hard, and get stoked ( changed your slogan/moral thing because it’s hard to live free with COVID-19)
I recognize a few of the rapids yer bud Ty was running - and that's the real gnar! The guy has serious ww skills! And to top it off he mtbs too - awesome. Great to see another video from you. Hope another one is already in the pipeline...
Always a delight when The Sampler and Berm peak drop new videos on the same day! Hey Alex are we going to get a review on the Fezzari anytime soon...? o_O
When I started biking after the first 2 months or so me and my 49 year old mom went to a bike park, I was still a newbie (I guess i still am) on a hardtail XC bike and we got her a rented hardtail trail bike and knowing her not being the best of drivers, I was a bit worried, all the way up to the moment when she blew past me on a blew trail that I found sketchy with her last cycling experience being 4-5 years old... I've never felt so embarrassed and proud at the same time...
Snowshoe!!! Absolutely love that park. Seriously one of the best in the mid-Atlantic with tons of variety. So glad you made it it back to one of our local (to us) parks!! Sorry we didn’t cross paths this trip. Excellent work Alex 🤘🏼🚵🏻♂️
I remember watching that first trip out there with Tonka. You've come a long way. Ty is kind of nuts haha! It clearly runs in the family, I can't believe his mom is out there!
Definitely showing a ton of progression and increased confidence! Went there for 1st time recently and had a blast on my trail bike. Bottomed my fork out on that same rock drop (which if course is way more intimidating in person, as is everything there). Can't wait to go back!
Good vid. I can relate to the feeling of riding features a second time and not understanding why you had a hard time with them to begin with. Progression feels great!

I was actually planning on going to snowshoe for the World Cup downhill race but can’t go now snowshoe looks super fun
I was just wondering when your next video was going to be. You need to get Seth out to Whistler and see how much you've progressed there!!

Thats why friends are for! Take care! Keep them coming!
Been a while since I’ve watched one of your videos but they never disappoint
You keep watching, I'll keep making
@@The_Sampler that my friend is a deal
Best part of watching your videos is seeing how pumped you get with making a jump and how stoked you are with your ride progression.
wow watching this one day after the world cup there it really puts it into perspective how gnarly the DH tracks are and how good pros really are.
not so slow tech for pros...insane
A singletrack drop! Such a rare and delightful treat! Great to hear from you man. Keep up the great work. 🤙
Dude! So awesome to see you ride parts of the DH Worldcup track. Really puts in perspective how knarly it is and what incredible skills the DH pros have
I love my Delano Peak too!
I don’t know about you but I love it when you post makes my day every time
So stoked to see vids from you especially focused on your progress and message. You are a big part of helping me over my first year of riding. Thanks and look forward to seeing more.

whoa another fezzari rider. welcome to the club 🤙
Another video that provides great perspective on the depth of MTB: progression, different skills, multigenerational, comraderie, etc.

Family first always, glad you are getting in some great riding and thank you for sharing!
Family is most important Alex so all good ..... but I do miss your vids when there is a big gap 😍 ... thanks for sharing
I do try to live free but once I see your vids it makes me ride hard and it gets me stocked. Good to see u again Alex
My man love your work champion. Always happy to see and hear you. Still wearing my broken not buried t-shirt still cancer free. Ride hard brother
I haven't seen you in a bit but I'm glad I'm here again
I am happy to see you around here again!!
Right back at ya Jorge
Hope to see you back at snowshoe in 2023. New jump line down at the bottom of ninja Bob you'll love!
Rarely do I get this excited to see a drop from anyone. STS never disappoints
Always love the positivity in your videos. Makes me want to go riding every time. Keep it up!

Seeing that dudes mum riding is the best thing ever 👌🏼
part of all progression is confidence. it feels like you don't worry about it as much as you did before, and that's a huge part of it.
100% true, but the thing is, I don't worry because I've done had so many more reps now
Cool trip! Love snowshoemtn in the winter… I always wondered what the trails are like in the summer.
Yeah ive gone skiing and snowboarding there but never ridden it. Looks great!
@@TheShift1313 haha same!! Going up I'm March to ski. Need to go in summer for some riding! Looks fun.
We need a bike check ASAP! Just got my delano in a few days ago, loving it.
Fantastic! I love seeing the progression man, I think looking back is really good because it shows just how far you've come. Rad dude!
The progression is real and the comparison of the jump trail then and now you have gotten soo better at riding keep on fixing Machinicals ,riding, having fun, and getting stoked DUDE😎😎🤘🤘
Great to see you back at it Alex! Looking forward to your future ride adventures and laughs!!
Glad your back making content man!!! Great to see your progress over time too! Makes me feel better about my own progress

What a great video. Alex, you inspire riders of all abilities. Love the MTB lifestyle!

Good vid. I can relate to the feeling of riding features a second time and not understanding why you had a hard time with them to begin with. Progression feels great!
You were riding trails that were on the World Cup downhill track yesterday. That’s nuts!
awesome vid!! Nice to hear your tagline again!!
I love how you call your mate's mum "Dude!"
I literally call everyone dude. My dad hates it 🤣
Love your videos we need more of them
Cool watching after the downhill race
Perfect timing for the races this week 🤙
