I would recomend the 42 mins absolute masterpiece 'Six degrees of inner turbulence'
Also:
Blind Faith
Trial of Tears
A Mind Beside itself: Erotomania, Silent Man & voices
Absolutely LOVE this song!!!! Lost Not Forgotten is another great song as well as This Is The Life, Outcry, Far From Heaven, Beneath The Veil etc… all from this album.
Hell yes! My favorite band!
Mine too! ☮🤘
They make it hard for me to give a crap about any crap out over the last decade except them!
@@jameswatson6720 you should definitely check out Haken too! Start with their album called "'The Mountain"
I think this is their best album but there are so few reactions to it. I reckon you will like breaking all illusions from this album more.
Octavarium Is the best álbum 👍👍👍
@@jhonathanclarkk6592 Nah there's a few sleeper songs like I walk beside you. Its probably the most diverse album but some of the songs aren't interesting
I would actually recommend either Lines in the Sand or Trial of Tears for you since you mentioned you don’t like when DT gets too heavy for too long. Both are proggy songs around 13 minutes and rely a lot more on groove and atmosphere and neither are metal. People don’t often recommend them because fans get hung up on it being a more commercial album, but those are the stand out tracks. Lines in the Sand features a guest vocalist on backup vocals and should be accompanied by the preceding instrumental Hell’s Kitchen. But it’s not necessary. Anyway, highly highly recommend both.
I was just about to recomend those 2 songs lol. Fii is great and some of the leftovers from the 'Falling into infinity demos" are criminally underrated.
Hells kitchen for me is THE best. Cant change a single note there
I recommend Line In The Sand live in Bucharest because it is John's best guitar solo he ever played
Scarred by Dream Theater
Vocal sample in the beginning is from a VST called Omnisphere. found it working on my own productions with a friend. we bugged out a little
this my fav song~
I suggest reacting to "Outcry" by Dream Theater, and/or "6:00 (6 o' clock) by Dream Theater and/or "Scarred" by Dream Theater and/or also "Dark Eternal Night" by Dream Theater is a good one.
All songs are Dream Theater. You don't have to mention 'by Dream Theater', when all songs are by Dream Theater. It's unnecessary to write 'by Dream Theater' for every song, when all songs are by Dream Theater
Dude, that's why this music is called Prog. The 80's? This is best band and the best drummer in the history of music.
Fantastic start of a song
For other bands, I would suggest Haken's Veil. 1985 is pretty cool, Visions is a masterpiece
Breaking all illusions is best on this album.
Have you checked out their newest album yet?
Which?
This is another drummer, in case you didn't know/notice (he's a Mike too, so couldn't tell). This album hadn't a contribution from any drummer, so not all songs are that organic. I'm interested to know how much you like this period of their music, compared to the prior with Portnoy. Some think the magic is gone.
Why do people compare them to Tool they murder Tool.
