I won’t even consider a guitar with nickel frets . I don’t think this guitar is near the quality of my Ibanez, RG 5221. I paid 2000 for my Ibanez with a hard case . I just believe in giving my honest opinion, and not throwing softballs. Quite a hefty price tag for a guitar that is not Yet established. I will continue to watch videos of both you and Philip . Two thumbs down on cheap common Nickol, Frets . Even if I put this guitar up against my $1300 ltd m 1000 Ht , I believe the badlands guitar would be below the LTD. The LTD has namebrand, active pick ups, and stainless steel extra jumbo frets. I’ll be honest with you , I think your guitar is comparable to the thousand to $1500 LTDs. I will say that this guitar looks amazing and has very cool graphics. I also believe the craftsmanship is more consistent and better quality in Japan . Made in the USA is not the advantage it used to be . I love the fact that you guys have a guitar company , just realize that there are dozens of guitars made in Japan that are close to custom shop quality that are considerably less money than this bad lands guitar. I have no doubt that you will sell as many guitars as you can make based on your credibility from your RUclips channels . I fear that if you made a guitar that was to my minimum specs, the price tag would be so ridiculous. I would never consider it. I wish you guys the best of luck , buyers beware!!!! Made to their 'exact specifications' also describes everything. All the made in USA stuff is cool but to me its about $1000 you are paying for a nice case, strap, cable, and some autographs.

Honestly, they look ugly as sin and for $2500 there are a lot better values out there, Ibanez RG reissue, charvel socal and san dimas. whos going to want to spend that much when there are already plenty of guitars that are more than competing/beating this guitar to the pricepoint. Just comes off as another fly by night company thats gonna end up folding one way or another.

The value offered does not take into account resale value. Any guitar brand that isn't fender or gibson will always give you a better value because they HAVE TO. The question is, how MUCH of a better value is this? I am intrigued and I am excited for this but I will also wait for it to be reviewed by people outside of the company.
Carvin guitars come to mind. I missed so many chances to grab really great deals through the years and never pulled the trigger ordering a new one knowing the loss I would take on resale. Now that they are no longer in production we see some of the prices holding or even going up. I can get a couple of actual 80's superstrats for $2500 and 5 years from now they will be worth at least what I paid for them

So what's the name of the actual company building the guitars? I mean you're just a brand name right? Having some Warmouth style shop make you generic guitars with options you choose? I mean you're not an actual guitar company right, like you don't have a shop, pay employees, have cnc machines, die casting machines, milling machines, a paint booth, stocks of wood? You know like Gibson, PRS, Fender, Charvel, Jackson, Kramer had when they started out as guitar companies. You're just slapping a sticker with your brand name on the guitar right? I mean this is basically a parts caster company right, except you aren't even assembling anything yourselves. Kind of like Tee Spring, you come up with a brand name logo aka "Company" name and have tee spring make it all for you, that sort of thing? That guitar is fugly. Hard pass for me. Wish you well but I'm just not into this whole "coffee mug" with your name on it type of " guitar company" which just makes you a middle man, up charging for something people could get from Warmouth much cheaper and make themselves.

@@M4DR1U5 Appreciate the feedback. We truly do. Just so you know - in our market research, for a usa custom shop, hand painted front / back graphic - we were getting quotes between 6 - 8K. And, I agree with you - any company can charge what they want, but guitars are only worth what people are willing to pay. We wanted to provide the best experience at an accessible price, and believe we were able to do that. Regarding the stainless steel frets - those weren't popular in the 80's and we wanted to be era correct. However, we picked the absolute best usa made fretwire available - Jescar nickel silver.
The gotoh is better than a FR Original there’s a reason Shur uses gotoh and a reason the Ibanez edge trems are so good and highly respected they were made by gotoh. I’d rather have the Gotoh.

I agree this is a stretch though plenty of big spender's in both guys fanbase so on a limited run at this price point they raise some capital then try a larger run on a more reasonable model. It is tough to start low and try to bring a 'premium' model I get that but my first impression is going to stick a while. Cool guitar. I would love to get my hands on it for an hour or two. No interest in buying one.

Partnering with Tone King like this is a misstep in my opinion. For sure there is a crossover audience between them but I don't find TTK to be on Phil's level at all

@@I.am_Groot I agree with you, I know they have big spenders as well. I guess what has always brought me to KYG is his personality first, a real trustworthy genuine guy. I trust his knowledge and he has spent lots of time showing us budget guitars. I was just shocked when he said how much. I just didn’t think I was ready for that. I don’t really watch Tone king, but I wish it would have been Phil to do the announcement.
@@timothy5974 Phil is a solid guy and consistently brings great content. He is also someone who grew big enough to have a staff and has become a brand on some level. I am happy for him he earned it. Partnering with Tone King like this is a misstep in my opinion. For sure there is a crossover audience between them but I don't find TTK to be on Phil's level at all
