I love the new cutting edge modernist design of these new skyscrapers in Miami. We need some of that cutting edge modernism up north in older cities like Baltimore, Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, etc.
I hope that the architects, planners, and developers are taking the soil conditions into serious consideration because Miami and its suburbs all sit on low laying silty, sandy land for the most part.
Beautiful skyscrapers. But I can't help but wonder about the rising sea levels and Miami and if it's worth the millions of dollars to build them. Just a thought.
Sorry, but I don't think of 120 meters as being a skyscraper. It does NOT "scrape the sky". Is it "tall"? Okay. But in the here and now, you have to go at least 1000 feet in order to be called a "skyscraper". Currently, the tallest building on Earth is the Burj Khalifa, standing 828 meters or 2717 feet tall. That's over a half-mile! Further, there is another tower (now under construction) that is going to top off at over 1000 meters: the Jeddah Tower. That will be some 3300 feet tall. In other words, these super-tall monsters are going to be three times the height of most of the buildings in this video. They really DO "scrape the sky"!!!
May be a bit off topic but I am skeptical of this warming thing. I live Near Orlando and it get pretty hot here. We have temps in the 90's+ every day now. But a lot of times they compare today's high temp and the record high temp. And the record highs were set back in the 1940's and 1950's! So global warming I really don't think so. And it has been hotter.
Miami is literally going to be under water in a few decades because of global warming, maybe that's a little more important then building these extremely over the top expensive buildings..(most of Florida is below sea level)
Actually all Florida is above see level. I am afraid only people who are gullible enough to believe in global warming can think Florida is below see level.

Miami is literally sinking and ocean levels are rising... I suppose the tops of these fine buildings will have their own wharfs one day... lol

Tampa Bay temps are cooler now than prior to the big snow August day of 1976
