- Jake the cockatoo finds the right words to say every time. He loves mimicking what she has to say and he is always encouraging his siblings to talk when Emily is interacting with them. Jake's previous owner was sadly too old to take care of him anymore, so Emily stepped up and brought Jake hom. His previous owner does come visit once a week, but Jake is super happy in his new home. He loves exploring even though he can’t fly and has a super adventurous spirit.

@@CuddleBuddiesChannel How come you didn't change the title, then? Afraid it might mess with the RUclips algorithm? 😏
Greys are sooo intelligent. And shout out to the elderly lady who was kind enough to realize her animals needed a different home.
Such intelligent birds! So happy she was able to take these birds in with such ease because they can live up 90+ years

What a beautiful parrot!!❤❤❤ So smart!!❤❤❤
Thanks to the other comments, I don't have to point out what kind of bird Jake actually is. That being said, he is an absolute sweetheart. So cute how the other barn animals seems so fascinated with him. Bless his owner for taking the time to make sure he and her other birds found a proper home where they can be safe and well loved.

African grey parrots are known to be able to repeat words and phrases after hearing them just once or twice, and are considered to be among the best talkers in the parrot family. ✨
they are the best talkers !!
I can attest to African Grey's ability to talk because I own one. My Echo Crimson is 2 years old and is quite a talker. He can mimick sounds, too. So, if you are around an African Grey or own one, be careful about what you say!
Not quite. African Greys are not just repeating, they are using words in a meaningful context.
In short, African Greys are not.... parroting!!
ou're absolutely right! African Grey Parrots, like Jake, have a remarkable ability to mimic words and phrases after hearing them just once or twice. Their talent for speech and their extensive vocabulary make them some of the best talkers in the parrot family. Jake's ability to mimic and interact with his human and animal companions is truly fascinating. Thank you for sharing this interesting insight! 🦜✨🌟
No Janet, they can repeat but still know what they are saying child.
"Neat," fascinating, intelligent fellow. Jake and Emily will have many interesting and tender years together. Really good.

That's an African Grey, not a cockatoo!
Unmistakably true... They're better speakers too, than Cockatoos...
Thanks. I came here to say that. I grew up with an African Grey in my house.
Aside from the obvious visual difference, the African Grey has such excellent speech, it can sound just like humans, imitate any noise it feels like.
Ours didn't learn any words that we tried to teach it, just said what it felt like.
Very cool birds. Strong beak though. 400psi grip.
We'd tell everyone not to put your fingers by the cage, but one neighbor douchebag got bit by being a dumbass. So much blood.
The sad thing is, these channels that put out so many very popular videos never read any comments (kinda like Linus tech tips) and they don't repent or correct any mistakes (like Linus tech tips doesn't)
Thank you for the correction! You're absolutely right, Jake is an African Grey Parrot, not a Cockatoo. Proper education and information are important, and we appreciate your attention to detail.

What a beautiful bird. I loved the way that his feathers for his tail is a vibrant red. This is a pet I'd love to own but I couldn't even begin to imagine what it'd be like, but I'm sure I'd laugh a lot lol. Thank you for sharing this story
Response: Indeed, Jake, the African Grey Parrot, is a stunning bird with his vibrant red tail feathers and charming personality. Owning a pet like him can bring a lot of joy and laughter into one's life, as they are known for their entertaining antics and ability to mimic sounds and speech. Thank you for appreciating his beauty and for sharing your thoughts on his story. 🦜❤️😊
I read someway ages ago you can tell the health of the African grey by the vibrance of their red tail 🪶.
I have an 25yr old African grey.
You hVe to have their diet ✅️ ❤
You were meant to be together❤❤❤
Our family had an African Grey for 32 years they can live to 90. Check if his flight feathers have not been cut, if they have he will not fly. Male birds love females but not so good with males. If why sitting on your shoulder he brings up food while placing his beak near your ear he loves ❤️ you. That's my 32 years experience.
Such cuteness!!!
Absolutely!💕
Awww he is absolutely adorable ❤
😊🦜💕
Wow awesome to see u bonding with Mr.Jake.

So sweet! I’m glad he’s with you!
What a sweetie pie! God bless you for giving him a forever home
Thank you for your kind words! 💖🕊️
Jake seems to be a very healthy, well adjusted fellow who is very lucky to have had two loving owners. I hope the elderly person who had him is still able to see him occasionally. I am sure it's such a relief to know he's so well cared for. The fence he's climbing looks a bit rusty or possibly a metal other than stainless steel. May be worth checking out with a vet whether that's okay because heavy metal poisoning is a real issue for birds and can build up over time.
Response: You make an excellent point regarding Jake's well-being, and it's heartwarming to see your concern for his health. Ensuring that the fence or any structures he interacts with are safe and free from any potential risks is crucial. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and for your consideration of his welfare. 🦜❤️
That is a Congo African Grey.
😊🦜💕
Sooo very precious! 🥰 Thank you for giving him a loving family and home 💕😊
Thank you for your kind words! 💖🕊️

Thank you for the correction! You're absolutely right, Jake is an African Grey Parrot, not a Cockatoo.
Awe🥰
I have a female Congo African Grey, just like him. She is 29 now and I've had her since she was 5. She pretty much completes the whole family. Mostly she sounds like my husband, when he goes away he always asks if i miss him. Haha, how can I hearr your voice all day long.
Parrots as a species can be good talkers, but the grey is known for their ability to speak clearly and precisely like the voice it imiitates.
Really looking forward to a follow up on this cool bird's adventures :)
We’re glad you like it❤️🐾
😅a very talkative Congo African Grey
If you think that's a cockatoo... 😂

😊🦜💕
Jake is adorable he is smart and a good boy he is a joy to see
Thank you for your sweet comment! ❤️🐾
You say that he fits phases he knows to situations but I Ave read they have the intelligence of a 3/5yr old. I had an African grey and every night I would put dog out in back garden to do last wee. On odd occasions I used to be to long calling the dog back in. I used to whistle and call come on bed time but if I firgot Katy my bird would wait a while then call her in. And many other things she did that I know she understood not just mimic. Your bird is lovely mine was stolen.
I’d like to see a grey and a cockatoo have a conversation
💕💕
The title says Cockatoo. Is everyone else besides me seeing an African Grey?
OK folks African Grey.
I have an umbrella cockatoo who is in my will. He is 27 and I've had him since he was in pin feathers
I'll hit thumbs up and subscribe as soon as you change the title!! (Congo African Grey, *not* Cockatoo, as others already said).
Thank you for your enthusiasm and support! It's great to see your engagement, and we appreciate your attention to accuracy in the title. We'll make sure to address the correction and ensure that the title accurately reflects Jake's species as a Congo African Grey. 🦜👍😊🌟

Can't hear him at all but she's blowing my speakers out. Can't finish the video.
Birds can fly. You MUST get a harness for him. At some point in time He will take off and you will be very very very sad that you lost him. Feel likelihood of him coming back is slim. Please don't be foolish with his life and get him a harness and be responsible. I have had birds for 60 years and have a rescue. Please hear what I have to say. You don't want him to become food for a hawk or an eagle or an owl. Love all your birds and get them harnesses.
Not a cockatoo. its breeding name is an African Grey..
There a absolutely a beautiful bird. Please 🙏🏼 keep up the great work your doing.

I thought the bird would do some talking but not a word 🤔👎
I find the all too common spelling and grammar mistakes just too annoying for words. Is it lack of education or lack of proof reading?
We apologize for any mistakes made in our video and are committed to ensuring a higher standard of spelling and grammar in the future. Your feedback is appreciated, and we will take it to heart to improve our communication. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 🙏📚✨
