****DO NOT EVER STOP WHAT YOU 4 GUYS ARE DOING" It's getting better and better , I'm sure I talk for a lot of people here when I say I wish I could shoot with you guys !!! Thanks for all those nice moments and funny time you have , it's a pretty good thing we have you all!
Howard Koch Thank you again for the Gavin and Uncle Grumpy vlog fix. Always enjoy the humor and comradeship you bring to a photo session. With the four lads on the Isle of Mull I have learned a lot and had fun. Need to find my own photo pals to share in the photo adventure. Look forward to the next installment.
YES! The fantastic four of photography are back. Gavin "The business" Hardcastle,, Nick "The wave" Page, Thomas "Dead tree" Heaton and.... Uncle Grumpy! 😎 The boys are back in town.
Bloody hilarious. No disrespect to Tom, Adam and Nick but have been looking forward to watching your version of the Scottish trip the most...don't tell them though!!
Landscape photography + The Three, actually Four Stooges, is a marvelous idea! I especially enjoy how you clown around and then seriously deliver the photographic content when it's time. Well done!
Damn sir, you are a crack up. Just found you in Thomas' latest video where your SD card took a dump. Had to come check you out. Sub'd big time. Keep it up, you will grow faster than a blue bell. -Scott
I just found your channel a couple of days ago. My eyes are sore for watching and my sides are sore for laughing! Your pictures make me green with envy (in a good way if that is possible)... Absolutely one of the most entertaining channels I´ve stumbled upon! Keep up the good work!
Worth the wait...Another good one Gavin. was going to watch it later with a glass of wine but couldn't wait, 17 mins later and half a bottle! that was a good laugh. cheers.
Unbelievably funny. I've watched it 3 times. It is really interesting to have a different perspective on the other 3 vlogs of the bluebell wood. Great stuff.
Fun episode Gavin! I have seen the videos of you 4 ....all very good, but this makes them all come together. It is great when you meet. Enjoy and share what you can. If you ever want to come to Japan, let me know.
You four are hilarious together! I've been watching Thomas Heaton off and on for awhile. This has been so good to see him in someone else's vlog. And the great mucking around.
Absolutely tressmendous. Thoroughily enjoy your road trips, informative, fantastic photos with a lot of humour built in, perfect combo. You deserve many more followers Gavin.
FINALLY Gavin a video!...the wait has been killing me. BUT it's SO been worth the wait, another top drawer episode. There's one seriously big complaint though, that feel I need to bring to your attention...the video comes to an end! NOOOOO. As always a great blend of photography and shenanigans. If only there was a 'box set' version, then you could just binge watch the lot...heaven (LOL). Looking forward to the next installment...hopefully soon.
You fellers get dafter and I love it! I do miss bluebells, the few that can be found here in Tasmania are classed as a weed, Thanks for sharing. All the best...........Peter.
The Motley Crew strikes again... ;-) such a funny video had me laughing out loud all through lunch in the office... Some great pics as well Mr. Fototripper...
Gavin, If you have not seen the Sony NPA-MQZ1K (Multi Battery Adapter Kit) it is pretty cool and might make you life easier. It can run your A7 m1,m2,m3 holds 4 new BIG batteries, can charge anything else with 2 USB ports & can charge 4 BIG batteries at once, it comes with 2 batteries. Also, The A7r3 battery lasts forever. I shot sunrise & sunset 7 days in a row and then recorded 1 hour of video and still had enough left to be a useful backup battery. I once drove 2 hours to shoot sunset knowing I only had 30% battery and I was not worried. With 2 batteries you are only charging one every other week. Great Videos, Keep 'em coming. Thanks.
Oh how I have missed these shenanigans! By the time the bubbles were rolling past I was absolutely PMSL! Outtakes were quality too. Great shot of the bridge.
Coming soon... uncle grumpy’s Pickled eggs!! Only 49 Canadian dollars.. so £2.50 🤪 What a great vlog... really look forward to these mate... just so damn funny!! Add a splash of Mr H and Dr Page and you have gold... can’t wait for the next!! Jase 👍😎
Another great episode. That last image with the out of focus back ground was sweet. Have you ever done a bokeh panorama with a 85mm? Give it a whirl, you can get some crazy results.
fototripper yeah the 85 is a bit tight but it seems to yield the best results with the technique. It’s a multi image pano at say f2.2, but when you stitch all the files together it give you a larger/wider image with extreme shallow depth, something not possible with a wide angle lens. Check out the Flickr page: www.flickr.com/groups/1121852@N21/
the reason I think colours look better at a wider aperture is because you are probably at base ISO, the higher the ISO the more noise and less colour tonality and dynamic range, great vid btw :)
Wow. You gave up your Flake without even asking for a bite. That's surely the sign of remorse. I love seeing all 4 views of the same scene. It shows how photographers can be in the same place and take different personalized photos.
Finally..! Saw your post today... But had a long day & I was about to go to bed.. But, then I saw Thomas's Instagram story...New video in 2 hours....so stayed up...
hahahahaha!! Was finding it hard to wake up after lunch. This did the trick! BTW, we have lots of mist in Oberon, NSW, Australia, but unfortunately not as much mossy greenery....which I do love too. Love that mossy tree image.
When doing the shallow DoF vertical pano of the tree, the distance from the camera to the part of the tree in the image would be changing in each frame, right? So do you need to change your focus for each frame in order to keep the tree from going out of focus near the bottom and top?
I have been impressed. We are in a moment where we are looking to have everything focused, it is fashionable to focus stacking, and there are cameras that do it automatically. And you go and take a landscape to f1,8 ... ..and I loved it. More than a landscape is a portrait of a tree, right? But that mass of unfocused bluebells is much more pleasant to observe than if we had everything crispy
Loved the video Gavin. I snorted a couple of times. Remember that in landscape photography is not just about the final image, but how much you suffered to get it.
This was great. I didn't stop laughing and the bubbles actually worked very well at the end. Nice images too 👍👍👍
Were the midges like this?

hahah I like ''the business''.
Bloody hilarious. No disrespect to Tom, Adam and Nick but have been looking forward to watching your version of the Scottish trip the most...don't tell them though!!

When only using 1 or 2 batteries it's the size of a Sony Lens, you can put it in a Lens Bag with a hand warmer and hang from tripod in the WINTER.
That was fun to watch. The pano was a little busy for me, I really liked the 16;9 of the road when you started to pan over it tho :)
So funny, still catches me out when you start talking about photography. Feels like I'm watching The Adventures of Gavin & Uncle Grumpy.
hahahahahah
Crack me up every time!! Great fun to watch.
Oh how I have missed these shenanigans! By the time the bubbles were rolling past I was absolutely PMSL!
Outtakes were quality too. Great shot of the bridge.
Aye that was Thoms idea

Fantastic Video
Another great episode. That last image with the out of focus back ground was sweet. Have you ever done a bokeh panorama with a 85mm? Give it a whirl, you can get some crazy results.
Yeah but it's so hard to get the comp I want at such a tight focal length.

But seriously,. Gavin, thanks again for all the great tips and guidance at taking shots and discovering nice scapes!

Hilarius again. Thnx Gavin
Damnit Gavin this vid was so entertaining I went into work late just to finish it. 😆👏🏻
BTW the baggage trollies in Australian airports cost $4 so UK sounds pretty good ;)
Gorgeous images as usual Mr H, thanks for not killing AG
The outakes at the end just crease me... all before it was pretty good too.
hahahahaha!! Was finding it hard to wake up after lunch. This did the trick! BTW, we have lots of mist in Oberon, NSW, Australia, but unfortunately not as much mossy greenery....which I do love too. Love that mossy tree image.

Yes. Be sure to also shoot some frames at stopped down apertures like f/11 so that you can blend in those out of focus areas in PS.

Amen brotha!
this seems to become the new flying circus! 🤣👍
Mull is the home of one of my favorite single malts . . . Ledaig. Hope you tried some.
Love your channel so fun
Can’t stop laughing! But seriously some beautiful scenes and photos. Love those bluebells images!
Loved the video Gavin. I snorted a couple of times. Remember that in landscape photography is not just about the final image, but how much you suffered to get it.
Oh it's no fun without abject misery and suffering.
