First the re-record of The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny from Mr. Bungle, now a new record from Tomahawk... Mike Patton made this last horrible months a little bit more enjoyable
In 2002 tool was touring lateralus and tomahawk opened. I was a huge bungle and fnm fan and got so excited when I heard patton's voice. Had no idea about tomahawks lineup. That first album is a masterpiece.
@@HRG75 Apparently Tomahawk were frequently booed off the stage on that tour. There's one performance from around that time on RUclips where Patton points at the audience and says: "Goodnight and remember - YOU are the weakest link!"
This song is going to be in my head all day, and I'm totally okay with that. 🐶 There's an overarching theme that appears to be forming on this album too, which I'm digging. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest. Perhaps, the only thing I'd need to die happy, now, is new Fantomas.
Well if Mike's pattern/Patton (lol) of releasing music continues the way it usually has ( release multiples in quick succession) We should expect a Fantomas/Melvins release, Perhaps another Peeping Tom, and something with Mr Zorn.... I can't wait!
Always loved Duane's guitar sound! It really gives this "Wild west" kind of feel to all Tomahawk songs! :) Love how this band doesn't have a single bad album! :)
Love this song, actually. Simple, funny, catchy, great falsetto that reminds me of dEUS "fell off the floor man". Looking forward to the album now. As for those who feel disappointed; look, these guys are in their fifties, they're not going to have the manic energy they had 20 years ago.
This is so weird and fantastic. It's honestly like a dream come true of mine to finnaly have new tomahawk. I've been listening since the very first album, and I was like 11 when it was given to me by my uncle. Been a tomahawk fan since.
@@daveywavey2593 I love hearing the stories like those from other people also, from my own personal experience and from the stories I've gathered and things I've learned about my family and friends I have come to the belief that bands that you find early in your life that you really enjoy can have a huge impact on your life and your personality, not to mention the effect it has on your music taste for the rest of your life LOL.
@@twinpeakswithoutthemagic In the video, there are humans fighting like dogs on leashes, while dogs watch the carnage instead of humans. Pretty sure with the role reversal, there's a message in there somewhere.
How sweet it is.. a new Tomahawk album is coming out. Just from what ive heard reminds me more of the 2 nd album mit gas. I mean anonymous was OK wasn't anything special and odd fellows was a pretty good album too but nothing like the 1st 2 albums. I assume it's Trevor Dunn ,my boy John stainer from helmet( The drum machine time keeper), Duane Denison the great guitarist from Jesus lizard And Mr. Mike Patton. And lest they brought back the original bass player that was on the 1st 2 albums I don't remember his name but I believe he played with the Melvins for awhile. But it certainly put a smile on my face when I found out they had a new lp coming out. You can't beat Duane's guitar playing He's got such a unique in amazing sound. I can't say enough about the time keeper John stainer, Nobody throws down a better beat, in such a unique way. Trevor did such a fine job on the The Wrath of the easter bunny, and more of the same. I assume it's business as usual for this four piece. Hopefully they can tour, never seen them live. Saw Jesus lizard back in the early 90s. Whoa....what a show!
Ordered the album through Ipecac, but just listened to it on RUclips in its entirety. What can I say? Everything I don't like about this new album I will learn to love. Can't say that about any other band and I've really tried with some others. There's just this underdog gravitas that always makes Tomahawk both righteous and indignant at the same fuckin' time. Anyways, on to my two cents, which might cost a nickel. The boys flipped the script from the first album. The first few songs are average but it builds from there so strongly. Really enjoyable. Sidewinder is fantastic. Recoil, a reggae influenced track, I think, turns the dime from my two cents and really hammers the prior songs home. It's a weird album influenced by a weird time. We're really lucky to have it. We know how cheap our freedom is. Can't wait to get into this some more. Enjoy friends!
Are we seeing a trend here? Re recording Bungle, now a new Tomahawk record...can we expect a resurrection of another Patton project after this? Peeping Tom? Fantomas? Even a new Dead Cross record?
Fwuhk!!! This just instantly became a favorite amongst all the Tomahawk tracks. Realllllllllly vibing the riffage. ...oh the visuals perfectly suit the tune. I can imagine ladies drooling to this brutalicious
Only 2 songs from this album so far but as of now I actually like Oddfellows more. Well see tho still 10 tracks we haven't heard I have faith in Tomahawk.
I first didn't like Oddfellows that much but now its a classic in my books, same with anonymous, however this one has some weird feel like the production is simmilar to the Mr.Bungles album
These new tomahawk songs and pretty much the whole of oddfellows have a similar thing going on where the first time you hear them, they're alright, and the more you listen, the better they get
I agree 100% I listened the first time I thought it was kind of lazy on the lyrics & vocal melody then came to check out the video it grew on me in just 2 listens. It's perfect. Very percussive vocals that blend well with the music.

I wish it had ´´more`` lyrics, but the clip and the instruments are really good
The guitar work on these Tomahawk albums is truly A1. Amazing chops by Duane.
Have missed Duane Dennison’ chops. Long live the Jesus lizard.

Duane shining through these songs like a champ as is everyone else. I'm so stoked for another tomahawk album.
