I have a 1995 m540i, I’ve had it for like 15 years, never had any issues. Keep doing maintenance, and it will last. Mine is straight piped with twin turbos and coil overs. They are great for the price!

Me in my E36 328i Vert and him in his supercharged 540i 6 speed. I think he also runs it on an E85 Race fuel blend. The sound and smell when he overtook me at one stage was fantastic
Dr Johnson Hungwell depends where do you live I guess. If in usa, go for it! First thing to check - oil pump bolts, pcv plate on back of intake, everything else is basic maintenance
I'm driving 520I for 4 months to school as a daily. It didn't let me down even once. It's a really comfortable car. 520I isn't a fast car btw. It has similiar 0-100 timing with my dad's 2013 Chevy Aveo. If you're thinking about buying one try to buy the cleanest car. If E34's are like 2000 euro's in your country pay 3000 and get the better car. Or else it can give you troubles. Drive safe... :)

Timing chains are pretty solid on these especially they come without vanos system, one of the most reliable bmws ever@@CityTunes
