"Happy birthday, sons."
"Oh boy! 26 kilometer long battleships! Hurray!"
"Now now... What do you say to people when they give you gifts?"
"Death to the xenos, in the Emperor's name!"
"Exactly right."
Those were enough to account for at least a couple of centuries worth of birthdays.
I got this weird mental picture of the primarchs gathered around the Emperor, hopping up and down in their footy pajamas. Like a strange version of Muppet Babies. Warhammer Babies!
@@DustinBarlow8P I'd watch that.
This is incorrect several Glorianas are known to be active. Macragges Honor and Eternal Crusader are both still active in there respective chapters as well as at least 6 in various chaos fleets including the Vengeful Spirit, the Conqueror, the Endurance.
The Dark Angels also still have the Invincible Reason.
@@Aaron-io8vw It remains to be seen weather she will survive the sundering of Calaban after the Siege of Terra
I was about to say if someone didn't bring up the Crusader I was about to start a crusade.
@@davidedens6353 Its mentioned in the siege of Fenris stuff from 7th edition as still being in existence and being the dark angels flagship. Its in Awesome Fenris, Wrath of Magnus, Curse of the Wulfen and legacy or Russ
@@Aaron-io8vw all books i haven't read
I hope the Gloriana class battleship is still the flagship of battle fleet Solar
true
It took me a decade of reading books, lore and warhammer channels to finally appreciate the Gloriana. It was just kinda hard to imagine them. Especially as flagships for the primarchs. I always thought they were just all totally unique and rare ships.
I feel I have a more realistic and better impression of them now knowing these ships are not wholly unique but come from a base design with tweaks for each primarchs preferences.
How large was the Angels flagship? Was that a Gloriana too? In the book "Fear to Tread" it sounds utterly massive, like a carrier for ships larger than fighter and bomber wings that could dock with it.
I do believe most primarch flagships were all Glorianas, but heavily customized.
Black templars flagship is also a gloriana class battleship
" NOOT NOOT! MOVE IT ORKS ! BIRD BOAT COMING THROUGH !!!"
I'm not entirely sure if the Phalanx counts as a ship as such.
There are other ships larger than the Gloriana-Class however: Imperator Somnium the Emperor's flagship is definitely larger and unique; Ark Mechanicus are often cited as massive beyond compare; and then there's the Bucephelus, the Emperor's battle-barge, and initially his flagship - likely a Gloriana-Class or predecessor to the class. It's never established what the first-in-class was, normally it would be named Gloriana, thus it's unlikely to be the Vengeful Spirit or Bucephelus themselves...
I know that the phalanx is compared in size to the moon (Lua) but im not sure if the Ark Mechanicus is bigger than a Gloriana.
BTW, it is odd only 20 were constructed, because Alpha legion had Alpha and Omega (i.e. 2 of them).
Great vid again - congrats. The only 2 Glorianas i would like to have are 1) the one from ravens legion 2) the one from scars legion. Both would be manuevrable and comparatively quick. The Ravens ship would also have some ECM to supress its scanner sign.
One would be invisible and the other too fast to be caught by other battleships :)
The Ultramarines Gloriana class, the Macragge's Honour, is still active, and currently blasting heretics
As it should :X
and the Eternal Crusader - now the flaggship of the black templars
Yet he explicitly states this fact in the video you clearly didn't listen to but commented on.
Then there's the vengeful spirit being controlled by abbadon the despoiler the fucking heratic
Weren't nemesis battleship should be easier to construct since adding space for hangar bays should be easier than putting 8 macro cannon battery???
Guilliman has a Gloriana as his flagship in Gothic Armada 2.
That is true. I guess I didn't look into it when I made the video. It's also possible that ship was retconned back into existence.
tthere is something wrong.... The Eternal crusader and the flaggship of the ultramarines are still in use in the lore
The lore is a bit inconsistent but I do agree about the flagship of the Ultramarines.
Solar probably had a Gloriana and The Emperor probably commanded it as his flagship.
The Red Tear was last seen being dragged off the planet it crashed into in the center of the galaxy by a certain winged Primarch who was super determined that no one would ever know what happened. HHMMM center of the galaxy, total secrecy, no one has the technology to repair it. Guys I think I know where the Squats are.
The Glorrian were by design super battle barges
The Nemesis class fleet carrier can benefit further by being reinforced by Astartes fighter pilots, this already a devastating power having common soldier reinforced by veteran super-soldiers of the Blood Angels, Raven Guard or White Scars,
Regarding why not, well ... Probably a case of battle doctrine, though the ship's modular nature means one can get away with all kinds of super capital variations, such as making a super carrier out of it or a UNSC Infinity analogue.
Tl;dr: Maybe you prefer high mobility cruisers or don't want a giant bull's-eye for a ship?
You need more views
I kinda agree.
Emperer protect !
First you cannot replace a Gloriana second if you have a glory on that you probably have everything else thirdly the bigger the ship the slower the ship and the bigger the Target no thank you
wow
Will you do a video on Imperial Navy Space Stations?
Do you mean Star Forts? Or stuff like Navy Bases ?
I think I was referencing ship yards, but honestly I'd love to see videos on all three!
I will see what I can do in the near future :)
Awesome and thank you good sir!
There are at least 8 active Gloriana in 40k
What about the Ironclads..? So sad.. I can't find any art on these near mythical ships....
Because there's next to none on them :(
For the algorithm...
If I was in a Gloriana nearly without exception I’d have a huge amount of enemy firepower focused on killing my ship
Great content but the voice is just hard To listen to
sorry
An personally I would pit a Star Trek Oberth Class against a Gloriana class any day of the week. An that is with the full knowledge that 80% of an Oberth's hull is made of Expodium!
That would be quite unfair.
