  • Hey everyone quick update on the Ranger. After two months of waiting I finally got my truck back from the dealership. My Injectors were replaced under warranty. It appears that they were leaking down into the cylinder. Hopefully this fixes my issue!

Looks like a good diagnosis and therefore, a good fix.
    Thanks for sharing the situation.

Love your upgrade videos. Just got a 2021 Ford Ranger. At what mileage do you regularly change your oil? Every 3,000 or 5,000 miles?

Interesting, I just bought a 2021 xlt fx4 and the day I bought it and before I took it home, it steeped for 3 days at the dealer cause of gas sensor issue. So they said that day. When I picked it up, I was told they had fixed the injectors which was surprising to me. Hope this is not a hidden known issue.

Mine has the same issue. Changed the oil at 1k miles initially and sent a sample to Blackstone at 4k miles. Just got the results back showing a 6.3% dilution over the course of 3k miles. Since the truck is so new I want to see if it improves or changes and go from there. Sending another sample in after 2k miles, so we will see shortly. Since it's been 4 months have you seen any improvement since they did the repairs?

Glad they fixed it. But I’m also so glad I went with a Tacoma over the Tremor Ranger. Hope this doesn’t happen again to you!

Do you run only “top tier” gas? I’ve only run on that fuel since I first got my Ranger new and haven’t seen the injector problem you’ve experienced.

Leaking injectors usually cause a flooded startup condition. Did it run rough upon initial startup after it sat overnight?

I'm having the same issue with my 2019 Ranger. Ford seems to be now avoiding my calls and emails and the Way Scarff Ford dealership wont really do anything. The Dealer says they don't have equipment to test the injectors and don't smell anything. I don't know what the point of a warranty is if they wont fix it... I like the truck however, I think I will by a Toyota next time considering how they are behaving. I even sent them a oil analysis on a sample I sent to a lab which came back having greater then 5% fuel contamination. I'm thinking about having a mechanic down the road test the injectors if nothing pans out. I'm tired of smelling gas and it's destroying the bearings.

I have a 2020 ford ranger and recently started misfiring I thought it was the spark plugs so I replaced then with new set of ignition coils and it ran fine for a day then it started doing it again, now I'm thinking it's probably a fuel injector issue probably, but either way I'm gonna take it in and get it checked instead

I’ve driven the truck about 3800 miles since the change. Only notice a gas smell when my catch can is full. My mpg have risen, gone up to near 22mpg. So all I’s good so far. I’ll be changing my oil and rotating my tires in a couple weeks so I’ll post an update.

I have no idea why people keep buying Ford vehicles. Constant issues with them year after year after year.
Talked to a Ford mechanic at a dealership who gets paid a salary and then commission from each job he does. He told me there is always work when it comes to anything Ford. They can be very challenging to work on. But he makes a good living off of Ford junk, I mean Ford vehicles.
Everyone is excited about the new Ranger. In my opinion, complete junk.
