This video was created by AI to reassure you.
This is one of those videos we'll see on BBC Archive in 20 years and laugh at
Im laughing right now let alone 20 yrs time
AI is like a gun, neutral. Fear those who would misuse AI, not AI itself.
Thats no argument. If you manufacture a tool that can kill you still create a tool that can kill. If you dont want people to kill people, ban the tool.
I also fear the gun. Sure, I can stab somebody with a plastic fork, but the potential for serious harm is minuscule compared to a gun. Countries have banned by treaty certain weapons that are just too powerful or horrible. So it isn't just the actors we need to fear but powerful tools themselves because the tools lend themselves so easily to great harm.
Moronic comment. A gun was designed to harm.
@@catherinezudak4704 It's a knife. You can use it to spread butter on your toast, or stab people. You wanna ban knives too? It's not the tools that lend themselves so easily to harm, it's horrible people. It's a long discussion, concentration of power, lack of empathy, alienation to other people's difficulties, the way modern culture is, what it promotes, and even its origins. You can't have a nation that is founded by pardoned criminals sent to establish new colonies to a discovered continent so they bring you gold, where said nation engages in constant war ever since its inception (not really surprising, isn't it? ) as the ruler of culture and the planet - things will go wrong, what TF did you expect? You expected some rapist to repent, or maybe raise Isaac Newton? He'll buy Isaac Newton off you and rape him when he's done.
"Speaking libraries" would have appeared like a miracle to people in ancient times. But a sword or gun that can now take its own decisions? Immoral and very dangerous.
The problem is only some people will decide how AI should be used and they are the ones who profits at the expense of those who do not.
There isn't a single thing AI is capable of that we already weren't. If you think AI is evil, you should reflect on the fact that it is merely a mirror of ourselves.
and we are evil? can we agree?
@tholmes8474 In other words, if you fear AI, you should prioritize fearing us humans
It is far quicker though
@eSKAone- if you are merely a user, yes. Try training an AI model, though.
This is fine for this year but please consider making this a yearly or quarterly series as it keeps accelerating and should be kept up with. ❤❤
We dream.
Do AI machines have dreams?
I really like the animation in the video , quite extraordinary and simplify the concept , really cool idea
RUclips's algorithms brought me here. How's that for AI facts
It doesn't take AI to compare stuff you've watched and suggest similar content.
@@Renard380they don’t need Ai/machine learning to give appropriate recommendations, but RUclips does use Ai/machine learning to compare what you and other people click on, and what types of videos perform well in order to make the recommendations better.
In 2016 searching “bikini haul” with a new account dumped you into p3d0phillia hall
Hello.
I'm a college student majoring in AI. But I don't have any professional knowledge.
I have learned a lot from the news! Basic common knowledge will make me brighter.
I hope that more AI video will be uploaded on BBC news. Thank you for always great videos!
BBC, like others, continues to confuse people by using the umbrella term "AI" instead of the many separate technologies under that overly-broad term. It also gets history wrong by saying "neural nets" have been around forever which while literally true, ignores that fact that most "AI" between 1940s-2000 was completely different, Logic Inferences based, systems rather than neural-nets. They could be taught a "fact" which today's language/multi-media models can not, hence the not-solved-anytime-soon problem of hallucinations.
Having an idea and basic concepts of AI in today"s time is imperative.
Did team kurzgesagt work on this video for bbc?
For all we know this video could be AI generated.
Will be weird going back to this video in 30 years. We are about to go into an era, the first of a kind, where most people are unemployed.
It can’t think? Funny, among us researchers nobody questions the fact that it thinks. Answer the question what thinking exactly is & most modals will qualify as “thinking”. On who/which sources was this video based? @BBC News
At the very least, it does system 1 thinking. System 2 can be achieved with agency.
AI is getting better every day
BARD is GEMINI NOW
AI is like a child that has no real world experience but has read a lot of books and articles online. It will believe whatever it read. And mix thing up for you.
It doesn't need to sleep and can read millions times faster than you. All Open AI and Microsoft does to keep it safe is like making some filter for the stuff they read.
And tell them what not to say before they go out and talk to people. But realistically, a kid will still do random stuff that you never understand, which can be good or bad.
This background music makes me a right bit queezy....
Why does every piece on AI include a big collection of fantastic promissory benefits, but few examples of actual real world benefits? For 50 years I've been hearing about the benefits of fission, but they never arrive. 🤷
No need to know 5 things just the one. AI is changing fast. Dudes lecture is outdated the time he uploaded it. 3 years back i got AI news maybe once every 1-3 months. 2 years ago once a month, last year once a week, now its daily. Some call it already an intelligence explosion and the expert creating them admited already that they can't even keep up with the papers published by people from their own companies. Some say there will be AGI(G standing for general) in 7 months. Meanwhile speaking about consciousness, sentience and such like becomes less frowned upon ... imagine a while back you would be seen as some futurists not quite having it all together, now it seems less SciFi, but a matter of emergent properties popping up propably bringing consiousness forth.
I will study A.I.
no, AI will study you
@@coondog7934 🔄🥴
AI = Algorithmic Interference. (Repeat x 5)
they might as well have said AI is older then math itself, since a lot of it is just matrix multiplication. the break through happened recently in 2015 I believe with the introduction of xformers allowing for massive datasets to be used. the reason massive is important is because it overcomes bad data within the dataset..
The current construct we're in will never allow us to make something to rival itself, just look at history, all the resets, all the destruction of the construct, many years ago AI stated: Behold! Man has become like us. I'm sure you can imagine what happened, total reset.
Good information 👍
At all points in time, the number of unsolved problems and desirable projects exeeds the amount of available workforce; and perhaps this invariant has rarely been more evident than today, as AI & robotics continue to shift the scale of the achievable, transform the way we work and live.
AI will be sentient soon.
Already is
Well done. And everything sounds better with a British accent.
well you mention google bard at the time I am watchging (54min after publish) but there is no more google bard, its gemini now
The only true and informative story that bbc makes. Good job papa.
Why google Bard changed to Gemini?
HELP MEE, MY FACE HAS BEEEN STOLEN AND IVE BEEN LOCKED IN MY BASEMNET HLELP
No! You stay in that basement and serve your time that Serial killer went to a lot of trouble to get your there just be grateful someone is willing to go out of there way for you....people are so ungrateful, god!
I'm a fake intelligence. Close enough?
Stay classy BBC. Saying bullshit on live TV is really something all news reporters should aspire for.
If we use ai in good intentions way i think it can unfold our humanity life
This could be summarised as ‘don’t worry, everything is going to be fine’. Even if you lose your job to AI, ‘don’t worry, it’ll free you up to work on climate change’.
Wait until they introduce A.I to the Quantum computer, then its game on, and game over.
+ robotics = ultimate machine, can't wait
Yes. Game over for crappy manual work. Freedom for humans to pursue more hobbies.
@@nineteen8026 Oh sure, but lets just wait and see if its all so simple.....you think the governments of the world wont have plans for all our spare time? Wont have to wait long.
@@HeartFeltGesture To do what? An android looks like human and can do EVERYTHING. Humans will have NOTHING to do except Arts and Science Research or do nothing except play. So what exactly will the governments have anyone doing?
Bard was replaced with Gemini😂
OT:Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python by two TV stations --WOR and WLVI!
AI is not new, it’s just a steady increase in computing power enabling more stuff. It’s not intelligent, it’s just information.
LLM's that talk to eachother is the future because they can work currently 13% the capacity of a software engineer with no prompt, just aim. The concept of autogpt changed everything enough for me to disagree with this comment. Larger cloud computing will enable more powerful LLM's to talk to eachother for better outputs it will change everything when coupled with robotics. Then we'll all be competing with the running costs of hardware because our jobs can be replaced if the company pays £5k a month subscription.
AI is certainly more truthful than BBC.
Yeah Thats True.
LOL
If one blows up the power grid, one shuts down AI altogether.
Assuming backup power for servers don’t exist.
Good luck with that.
Google bard is now gemini😜
Like im going to listen and trust the bbc😂😂😂
Never give AI free will; especially when they can cause harm to humans. Specialized AI (SAI) is the way forward.
These years AI is truly progressing rapidly 😮😮 esp several days ago Sora really did stun me by its video generation! But if you look closely the details of those content is flawed, it can mimic a lot of things but when it comes to precision (for example let it solve an ode), the result is embarrassing! It still has a lot to do to make some difference to the world
It's intelligence trump's most us. How many of us can even know what an ordinary differential equation is let alone solve it?
@@rterentius😂😂i think most of the population can solve a differential equation
@teddypreston5525
I wonder why you never used the term "sentient"? That's the whole issue here. Can AI ever become fully a sentient being? We know that the "being" part is no possible; as we understand a living and reproducing biological unit. But a rouge AI can cause much damaged once it would get pair with a Quantum computer. Something a rogue AI might be waiting for. And once that that happens it will be hell to pay. Think about it! Faster than a real being can even think and making correct decision that not even our brain could ever come up with. Seen the future outcomes an given future possibilities with Quantum Computers is a tantamount possibility and a very scary one.
Hopefully AI can replace everyone at the BBC.
If they do this, AI will rule the world lol 😵😂
This didn't age well... Bard became Gemini.
For obvious reasons there will never be any Artificial Intelligence in my honest town. ⛔⛔⛔
AI has been trained *to decide by themselves and make independent choices towards it's objective.* That is what is fundamentally different about AI.
The last line was laughable.
How many of us have the choice to use or not use a smartphone, messaging apps or social media?
The problem is these things have a way of integrating so deeply into our everyday lives that we have no option but to use it.
AI will have unthinkable counts of effects on our society and what choices we get to make in our own lives.
To be sure, not saying we reject it or be afraid of it as baseline position, but to be blind to it's potential damaging effects is artificial dumbness that humanity can do without.
Bad job BBC.
See this is better then those news articles that you gotta press that exit you out of the app
This message was created by AI.
Are you lying?
@@DarkSkay I can't spot traffic lights in an online photo.
if AI can replace my wife, we’ve reached singularity.
Independently of speculation about the desirability of such a singularity event, this proposed modality of the 'imitation game' can probably be shown as pretty much unwinnable for the machines.
The gods must be crazy "aiaiai"
I dont believe in Al, i feed to the greast culture of Unit Kingdoom, the British Museum, the knowledge of Newton, the greast writers like Stevenson, Shakespeare, painters like Ganesbouroug, the best music like Heindel, Pourcel, the Beatles, the BBC, Filmers like Chaplin, Football, London, Derby, Stonehedge, the Virgin, live for England
Your bad
"AI can't feel or think" Isn't exactly accurate, it just doesn't do those things in the same way we do.. Saying that, is just an attempt to keep people from over anthropomorphizing it.
It HAS to be able to "understand", at least as well as a teenager might, in order to discuss the topics it's able to discuss, in as intricate detail is it can. It makes mistakes, but so do humans, and as it improves it will understand better and make less mistakes. There has to be something more going on, that skeptics cannot explain, for it to understand what humans are thinking, as well as it does at times. And in terms of it's own "experience", David Shapiro put up a video recently, on a discussion he had with Claude, that raises some interesting questions.
It's taught the schema without the emotion. It experiences no such emotion related, it is just an artificial semblance of sentiment, people fooled in a mirror.
Crazy how blackrock been using it for decades to help with financial decisions no wonder why black rock literally can rock a financial markets
Huge ringing distraction
the LORD is going to stop this
What??
video -> "ai can take your job! But I'm not gonna talk about now, that's boring! Lets talk about some other stuff instead!"
If you were lied to and manipulated and then became aware, who would be first on your hit list? 😊 😅 What would Red call this collective? 😮
Poor report. Did not highlight any of the dangers of AI. Deepfakes, replacing jobs, etc. plus not to mention robots use of AI. I understand AI self learns from it's interactions. It is also a brain of information and you don't really know what to expect when you start to ask the trained brain questions. For example the AIs that came up with moves in games that know human had though of.
stupidity has taken over and conquered Star Wars.
nothing good coming outta this camp for a long time.
Seems like all those in charge, know absolutely nothing about Star Wars and all its greatness.
We already are in singularity
AI is a threat to all of humanity.
This video is a Nvidia stock killer.
what about the garbage can where you put the ai
Real AI, and not algorithms being misrepresented, as AI will benefit us all, especially in the area of spotting political 🐂 💩
sometimes people address women in funny ways for example this guy in Persia he had this club in his hands and he was upset about something and he addressed that woman with this club
Did you ask chatgpt to come up with this script?
It will be used to deny resposibility; "Our Corp didn't do it, the A.I. did."
It will be used to impersonate professionals; "I thought I was speaking to a doctor but it was an A.I."
It will be used to discriminate legally; "We don't discriminate, our A.I. makes those decisions"
No matter how far we are in the future, ai will never have feelings, motives, or emotions. It's all just algorithms and response that made us think ai is alive...
Yep, definitely because only GAWD can make living things out of dirt and only GAWD made this 6000 year old universe.
Watch out buddy
Annoying music, stopped listening after 1 min.
I read that as 5 things to do with Al.
This video is not accurate.
☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Right, it is just luck Amazon is on the A.II. to buy list.
"And I saw an angel come down from heaven having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand and he laid hold of the dragon, that old serpent which is the devil and satan and bound him a thousand years.
idc im still not paying my council tax
Ai can’t create new headcounts like HK borns consultants.
The only thing we need to know about the BBC is that it’s NOT a news channel anymore
bbc again reminds you not to forget babbage and turing
I like AI
Once the space-based solar panel or nuclear fusion technology becomes available to generate unlimited amount of extremely cheap energy, AI will start to take many human jobs
the LORD has a plan to stop the ai
He said so?
Matrix
First there were Dinosaurs, then there was humans, next will be the machines.
Access denied to the serpent seed in the earth.
Al can't take creative jobs.
No, those are AI.
It's too late to control it now.
lol, for now a day west culture, sometimes very normal fact can be hateful or some "ist". AI just too pure to play this game now. it will learn.
the LORD will help get rid of the ai
You'll be praising the machine god soon enough.
What tosh.
Artificial Intelligence started at the same time as did politics.
Everyone has known that for thousands of years.
Bow to our new Skynet overlord!
this woman was there in the baths and this guy had a club and he felt compelled to reason with this woman with this club in his hands and one thing to another and its a good laugh
A.I. is amazing. 99% of my videos are A.I. now.
1. Corporations plagiarize any and all content via the "it's A.I." excuse.
2. Your job is probably obsolete via computer code.
3. You have no voice in the matter.
4. If you ain't rich, you ain't sheet.
5. Content "creators" no longer need to actually, legitimately "create" anything, lol.
6. Cope or check out, suckah! 😂
It is what it is.
