Ulmo is the Vala of all of the oceans, the seas and the waters in Arda (the world) and he is nearly as powerful as Manwe (the main Vala and brother of Melkor / Morgoth).
Eru Illüvatar (the one God) created all of the Ainur first before aught else was created. Some of whom then went on to become the Valar and the Maia of Arda, which is in Eă (the universe of Tolkien's mythology).

My biggest problem with what Amazon has done is that the elves act like humans, which is not Tolkien’s world. There are many more defining charcters than just pointy ears.
However, the scenes with Elrond and Durin I actually liked in this episode. They captured the essence of what is a ‘dwarf’ great with Durin, and they started to scratch the surface to Tolkien’s concept of the elven race with Elrond. (despite the short hair, which I seriously don’t understand the purpose of that)
Unfortunately, Galadriel is seriously not an elf. The fight scene with the soldiers was the first time this season that I felt like Galadriel was an elf, and it only lasted a minute or so. She’s not even a good portrayal of a human; she still feels like a Karen, and like most Karens you can’t take them serious. You just have to laugh 😂
