Most of my co-workers have quit in the last few months. It’s been crazy. Although, to be fair, their were lots of problems before the pandemic.

Quit 5 months ago for a remote gig instead of driving 50 min to and from work. I actually think it's a lateral move financially, but the amount of free time plus the saving of gas and wear and tear on my car made it well worth it. Driving 45 min to and from work has to be worth about 10 grand MIN. I have time to date, play volleyball, work out etc.

That sounds awesome @Chris! Most people did a lateral move because of these reasons. Glad you're happy with your move!

@@independentconsultant Hello, I'm from France and same thing is beginning here.
People are starting slowly realizing there is more important than job and making money.
Like all these curfews and the COVID psychosis trough medias had a counter effect.
People are sick and it's like more and more understand it's the way we live that make us sick.
I hope this is gonna be the beginning of a new era that nobody saw coming and no political movement, no big company's are gonna be able to control.
If just for one time we People, all these little hands making millions every day at work, just for one time we have the power to decide what is good without medias or a chief deciding for us.
Best prayers and lot of love you all

@@independentconsultant My greatest wish is we don't mess this up...
I quit for 2 weeks, wasn't possible to go to work anymore, just to imagine everyday between 8 and 17 millions going between my hands for 1300 Euros monthly, COVID crisis opened my eyes , there are some powerful people, the want us at work but not for us, just to keep us busy and not thinking to much about our condition and what is happening.
I really hope that what's happening is getting out of control for these people so mankind has the possibility to change.
Wish you the best, there is something coming, more and more people can feel it , hope it's not gonna be worse !

Quit my job 3 months ago for below listed reasons.
    1. 14+ hours of daily work, and on taking up with HR I was burdened with 2 more projects.
    2. Never mind the project but I wasn't learning anything new. Everything was repetitive.
    3. I genuinely think I can do more in terms of value addition, quality and solution but they were hindering my growth.
Money was never a problem and I don't mind working from office. But yes, it was the pandemic that made me realize I am being taken granted for.

The pandemic, in my industry, saw so much demand that work conditions became much worse. I was working 16 hours in one day and my employees kept getting hurt more, people were miserable. I couldn't ethically continue.

Excellent video :0..., though I live in Mexico, I've lived a similar situation, a lot of people around me resigned..., even I did..., yep, for me the career goals are the most important factor to decide quitting a job.

Everyone I know that left their jobs are now entrepreneurs. That’s a cold reality when corporations realize how easy it is to make money on your own. Also if you add to the skills many former workers have I think u are far from understanding what’s going on.

Why is no one mentioning the mandates? People are being forced to "quit" too! This HAS to be adding to the numbers, but no one is mentioning it at all. WHY?

@@independentconsultant try searching "jobs loss due to (v-word) mandates". Thousands are being forced to quit because of these illegal mandates. It has to be significantly affecting the numbers as well.

Those are great questions to consider before resigning. When the tide turns back to normal, I have to think most hiring managers will prefer jobseekers who didn't turn over during the great resignation. Definitely the best time there's ever been to ask for more pay/benefits from one's current employer.

After covid the younger generations will never go back to the old ways. They will never again join companies or teams with managers who see them as usable slaves or have the mentality that you have breaks in your employment so you have less value. Thankfully people are now posting about bad management on Glassdoor and other sites so people can avoid these type of places
