I have the 300a!! Nice to see them out there!!
That's a nice amp about the biggest one I ever had was a d and a phantom year's ago thanks for the video.
I traded for that exact box has the same scratch by the T where is says tune. And same wire nuts on disconnected wires by the driver tube tuner. The driver tube is bad again. The other tubes has grid leakage on 3 of them. The driver tube tuner had a bad solder joint on the leg on right side, and I found a open diode and bad solder joint on the load tuner that goes threw the 2 capacitors to ground. I ordered new tubes again for it. I think it will be fixed now.
Brought to you by the company that did the Transelyzer (sp?). Transel always reminded me of the Black Cat line of products. I think they were both in the Indianapolis area, but I am not sure if there was any connection. I did use one of their wattmeters at one time and it seemed relatively accurate. I know they had a sales flyer/catalog that listed amplifiers up to their 2500 watt amp. Never saw one or heard of anyone having one.Since I never saw any Transel amplifiers new, I have never seen one in operation. Interesting company from "the sands of time"!
Wawasee Electronics was in Syracuse, IN. No connection between the two. I met the Ernie engineer that designed Transel products in the early 80's and I was a regular customer and friend of the owner and the tech @ black cat Wawasee electronic's until they closed up.
@@dwoaks1 Thanks David for that bit of information. I find the history of some of these companies interesting. By chance, did you ever see any of the larger Transel amps?
@@eshop777 They made one that had 2 6KD6's driving 3 572b's and one that had 13 6LQ6's That I have had in the past.
Ive also had that weird swing when i went longer with my patch cords that swing tightened up
Nice Amp!
👍
I'd start with recapping it.
Overdriven that amp its feeding back for the driver making a loop feed back. I had an amp years ago you can hear your voice in the driver tube kick back the power your overdrive the amp.
I had one HAD is the word here. It was a pain in the ass to work on because some genius ass designed it with vertical boards...
It's hard to find a good tech for amp's near by any more and shipping is high. Would JTG be a good source to get that amp fixed right?
Im trying to find the electrolytic cap values. Ive got one of these. The caps were removed to replace them, 2 years later, cannot find them. So cannot find the values of them.
