- Theres a lot of Sniper Elite games.. Not as many as call of duty or battlefield, but whatever. The themes are all the same. Just a little different with each other.
Ps. Sniper Elite V2 shares some of the stages as Sniper Elite 1 (i mean the map, not the objectives) and that includes the 2 zombie games (trilogy doesnt count)

Truly a well made leitmotif, but besides sniper elite, super mario, sonic the hedgehog and legend of zelda, i cannot think of any other game series that can pull such leitmotives.
ADDITIONALLY i realised i forgot one.. the leitmotif used in the zombies games while youre in the safehouse.... oh well

I'd argue quite a few games have really great leitmotifs.
The Doom series, Halo, Age Of Empires, Red dead, Medal of Honour, Battlefield, Fallout and the Elder Scrolls, Assassins creed, God of War, Mass Effect, Uncharted, SOCOM, and just... So many more i could list.
Not to take away from the Sniper Elite theme, but there are just as many amazing OSTs within gaming.

As for the series youve mentioned, ive never played Uncharted (i think i have the trilogy on ps3, but i never played it), Mass Effect and Socom. As for the others i think i have every medal of honor game and that includes battlefield, but its been so long i hardly remember if there are leitmotifs there. As for age of empires, i havent played the 4th, but the 3rd has the most different music out of all of them. As for Fallout yeah i think i remember a few radio songs which sound similar with each other on Fallout 3 and Fall New Vegas. Halo and Doom however, these are series with sweet leitmotifs in them that i couldnt remember on the spot while writing my reply. That leaves the red dead series. Red Dead 1 (revolver) was released on ps2 back in 2004 which is one year after sonic heroes. I think i still have it in my pile of 10000 Sonic and Ratchet n Clank hoard. Red Dead 2 (redemption & undead nightmare) i still play it to this very day, i have the GOTY edition. Ive yet to play Red Dead 3 (redemption 2), because rockstar fucked me over with my social club account and they told me that i have to wait max a whole month until they fix this shit. Once i play it, ill be able to test the leitmotif. Oh yeah Castlevania also has good a leitmotif ESPECIALLY Metal Gear so thats another two.
Anyway to end this in a positive note, i hope you like Fallout and GTA, because ill be making 4 Fallout videos and maybe 2 GTA 5 ones.

Awczarek but with a few extra differences that you probably didnt notice while playing the games.. On sniper elite 1 the soundtrack is actually 3 times the length and no, it doesnt repeat, but i didnt record that part, but only the similar part. Sniper elite v2, nazi zombies 1 and 2 plus the nazi zombies trilogy the soundtrack immediately repeats once it ends so i had to have reflexes of steel to tap "stop record" in the exact millisecond (with the exception of v2, because i forgot to rerecord and fix it). Sniper elite 3 on the other hand ceases to play if you minimise the game for 2-3 minutes, but i dont recommend doing it for it will trigger the most foul glitch youll ever witness which is instant minimise when you tap with the mouse and because of that youll have to force close the game with task manager so NEVER minimise while playing the game.

ALSO soon in a couple of days my arma 3 vid (which took me forever to make) is gonna be finished which means ill be able to work on my sniper elite 5 bug/glitch compilation lol. although i found enough clips for a quick video, im not uploading it yet until i finish the game 100% just in case i find any more clips worth recording

Man, hearing that sniper elite 1 music gave me nostalgia..
The 1st game brings nostalgia, but a lot of hate as well. People hate the shit outta the game, but come on. It was probably the first 3rd person shooter from rebellion. Cut them some slack. (Except for sniper elite 3. That shit is inexcusable.) The number 1 hate this game is getting and i agree 100% is the choppy maneuver. Its almost as bad as fucking bubsy 3D and that game was absolute doooooog shit. It literally feels like you are driving a car without tires and you are trying to go from point A to point B as the unprotected rims grind on the ground leaving a trail of sparks. The number 2 hate this game is getting is the rifles are slow as ass and all have a capacity of 5. Like what? How is a battle rifle slower than a single action revolver and have the same capacity of a bolt action??? A few years ago the game was mostly negative on steam, but now its 50 50 if i remember correctly so we are good lol

1) Enemies when shot at do NOT respond to getting hit regardless of the weapon used and it doesnt matter if its during alert phase, caution or while theyre chatting with other enemies
2) Ammo is unrealistically little.. Like come the fuck on 30 rifle ammo, 32 smg ammo and 24 pistol ammo?? Truck drivers and engineers bear more ammo than you
3) I dont know how to explain this, but invisible walls blocking your shots and the sounds all sound as if they were slowed by 50% especially the rifles
4) Everytime i would load a checkpoint, Karl would ALWAYS have his rifle equipped even if i had a different weapon equipped prior to saving and he would ALWAYS be standing even if i was on the flood crawling and the worst of all is that he would ALWAYS FFFFFFFUCKING FIRE which is a double negative since he wastes ammo and now all the hostiles know where i am
5) Game was and i bet you it still is infested with glitches and frequent crashes that when i was trying to beat it on authentic, i had malicious intentions of causing a genocide from rage
Ill assume the game is uuuuh mostly patched ever since i last played it back in 2017 so if you havent played it yet, but you still wanna give it a try, you can go on right ahead. Who knows, maybe youll like it way more than i do. I finished the game 100% in 58.4 hours so it wont take you too long to beat it yourself, if you havent already
I used to play The First one on PS2 back then. I love The Atmospheric and Mysterious OST
Theme of the 5th is already out, keeping the tradition of changes to get the "feel" of the country the game is set. It's pretty good.

For me who's new to the series it now has a special place in my love for video games. Although I've only played sniper elite 4 and zombie army trilogy I am planning to complete the series by getting v2 remastered, 3 and zombie army 4. Maybe I could find a copy of the first sniper elite for my wii that is collecting dust in my closet.
The wii port has like a winchester wii mote in it. It also didnt age that well either sadly. The character momentum is asinine and nerve racking and the AI can smell you from behind walls on the highest difficulty, but its still beatable none the less if you bypass all the glitches and flaws even though youll die several times lol. I give it a steady uuuuh 65/100

I hate how the German uniform is useless in the 1st game beyond the first mission. And it sucks how wearing enemy uniform disguises is pretty much nonexistent in supposed stealth games like this.
Its really not. Let me explain. We all know that the 1st game is the prelast in the sniper elite canon timeline (the other being the zombie what if timeline), but you need to look at it from this point of view.
1) There are 3 factions/sides:
A) The german defectors and OSS operatives.
B) The ruskies.
C) The remaining battle hardened german infantry and paratroopers (the jagers you see in sniper elite 3 4 and 5 are paratroopers that were "decommissioned" after a massive fuckup in greece) plus the final line of defense (civilians in all ages).
2) Nearly 95% of all hostiles you encounter in sniper elite 1 are ruskies, but in sniper elite v2 only half are ruskies. This is because karl pushed the ruskies back enough for the germans to reclaim some of the lost counties/districts in berlin. Replay them and look for landmarks and youll see sniper elite 1 v2 (+ the dlc) plus zombies 1 and 2 share the same maps and in some cases youll be on the same map/district twice in the same game like sniper elite v2.
3) Your german sniper disguise doesnt do jack shit and believe it or not it makes quite a lot of sense if you think about it.
A) If 95% of all hostiles are ruskies then OBVIOUSLY your disguise is more than likely to attract hostility towards you rather than preventing it.
B) If karl's existance and abilities reached all over the world and even the xenophobic imperial japan then the germans would be well cautious knowing Karl is smearing his balls somewhere in berlin.
C) Karl may be born and raised in berlin which was one of the key reasons OSS sent him there in the first place AND he even showed his ability to fluently speak german in sniper elite 4 which fooled MANY, BUT..... how stupid do we have the germans for? Clearly the german specialists (field medics/surgeons, snipers, engineers etc) by this point of the war were easily distinguished by their extremely minimum numbers and the way they acted. In short if i was a german soldier/militia and i saw an unfamiliar "german" sharpshooter/sniper running around on the same altitude as me instead of hiding behind a broken window or a god damn rooftop, id be like "HOLD UP! WAIT A MINUTE! SOMETHING AINT RIGHT"

Played it 2 days ago. Didnt listen to the music as i was too busy searching for things to get mad/pissed at and best believe i found several things to complain about. Strangly enough the game is WAY WAYYYYY EASIER than sniper elite 4's campaign. Like wtf ive played the 1st stage on easy and then IMMEDIATELY on authentic and only died because i got greedy trying to snipe a boat that was 650+m away, because its a challenge task

Sniper elite 5 though added extra monologs and there i can understand where they were going with, but that DOESNT mean the main campaign monologs should be revoiced by a different fucking character.

Youll need to look at it the same way as i am. When did those battles take place, how are they affecting the game series's timeline. What are we going to expect etc.
Sniper elite 1 and V2 take place in Germany, primarily Berlin and at the end of the war meaning 1945.
Sniper elite 3 takes place in Africa meaning June 1942 up until maybe February 1943 as Karl left after disposing the high threats. The "North African Campaign" took place between 10 June 1940 and 13 May 1943.
Sniper elite 4 takes place in Italy meaning months after Africa so it could be December 1943. Germany invaded Italy on 13 October 1943 and surrendered just 2 days after the collapse of Berlin, meaning 2 May 1945.
With the game timeline explained, it is not entirely clear which is the next game. Poland takes place in 1939 which means its another prequel AND its as back as they can go for a sniper elite game and also Greece will be next and then Russia. Also if sniper elite 5, 6 or 7 is in Russia, then the game will most likely take place during the end of "Battle of Stalingrad" meaning January 1943 and thats just months away from sniper elite 3 and then 4. Additionally they are gonna be forced to do the same gimmick they did in sniper elite 1, but in reverse. Instead of pretending to be a german specialist, youll be pretending to be a russian specialist AND grow a fucking beard lol.

How Karl Fairburne ,, moving from one war in one world war, even though a series of wars can take 1 year and he can move quickly in one series of Sniper Elite battlefield to another series of Sniper Elite.

Sniper elite 1 takes place in april 1945 in germany during the battle for berlin.
Sniper elite v2 takes place immediately after sniper elite 1 as it continues from where sniper elite 1's battle for berlin left off. It takes place from april till may 1945.
Sniper elite 3 takes place from june till december 1942 in africa.
Sniper elite 4 takes place immediately after sniper elite 3 as karl himself mentioned it at the end of sniper elite 3's final mission. Its unclear though WHEN it ends, but if i have to calculate, its december 1942 till maybe early february 1943 since theres snow.
By my point of view maybe karl did retire for one and a half years after italy. I mean have you seen him shoot with an smg in sniper elite 1 and v2? Hes so rusty that i have to hug an enemy to actually hit them properly. His rifling skills were intact though as he was probably lightly training with rifles before he was summoned uuh... in contingency.* Funny.. in the metal gear solid series, solid snake retired like 3 times before he died..
Judging by the remaining invasions, i would say sniper elite 5 might take place in greece from octomber 1940 with fascist italy till april 1941 where germany was like "yeah i wanna get some of that too".
You are slightly confused i believe, because all the invasions from italy and russia to egypt and germany etc are all, but battles of world war 2. Theres no other war, because nearly every country is in world war 2. The cold war though started immediately after world war 2 ended where america and russia were bitching at each other about who would get the most german warmachine scientists/engineers and schematics, hence why russians go apeshit when they see you in sniper elite v2. Sniper elite 1 doesnt count, because youre disguised as a german sharpshooter.**
Also no, wars dont always have to last a year or more. It all depends on your ammo and weapons supplies (OSP is a must), your troops and military vehicles (also your local militia), sufficient military funds and moral etc. Low morality and insufficient war supplies can sometimes be enough to end a war earlier via surrender i guess.
*ALSO for those who bitch about karl being only good at rifles, my brother who has a g3a3 told me that you have a higher chance to hit your target with specific weapon types you spend more time with, meaning the g3a3 is a marksman rifle (dmr) so my brother can shoot better with a dmr than an smg or maybe an assault rifle like a tar21 etc. Plus the rifles have scopes lol.
**Karl is an american born and raised in berlin, hence why he was choosen in the first place in sniper elite 1 and v2 as OSS thought it was wiser to send HIM since berlin was his childhood home.

Thats the point of the zombie soundtracks. Lol they are meant to scare you or at least give you a feeling of dread or auxiety. You are definitely not alone feeling scared from this song or other zombie soundtracks like left4dead's taaaank soundtrack ESPECIALLY when you feel tremors yet you still havent spotted the tank yet.

@@mario-highsierra1634 no.. you see epic games paid rebellion an ass load of money so that sniper elite nazi zombies 4 would be temporarily exclusive for epic store for a year or so. Something similar happened to metro exodus as well, but at least for THAT game it was on steam for half a month before it was temporarily removed AND i could easily buy it off from illegal sites if its permanently gone from steam. When sniper elite nazi zombies 4 was finally coming to steam, i wrote this comment to notify all those who wanted to play the game on steam

Sniper elite Nazi zombie army image is very lazy they just used sniper elite V2 and replace the Nazi soldiers with zombies
Considering sniper elite v2, v2 remastered, zombies 1, 2 and trilogy (fuck zombies 4... maaaan the DLC including the game are 500 euros... what the ass?) Are all made with the same engine and if not, they are designed EXACTLY the same. Barerly anything big is different so they probably said "fuck it lets make the same main menu since its the same leitmotif even though the producer could be different and make it look zombie themed. Hell even the stages in sniper elite 1, v2 + dlc, zombies 1 and 2 all share the exact same stages/locations anyway so fuck it." In short its most definitely intentional they didnt bother making a newer main menu image. Plus theyd pay up and down the artist the same amount regardless. Its a business move
