labour introduiced the modern inheritence tax in 1974, under Harold Wilson. It certainly had the effect of defenestrating the wealthy. But actually it does not raise much income, and it is a tax that is more about envy than anything else. Of course it is also a tax that wealthy people find easy to avoid. So it hits the middle classes hard. About time it was scrapped.

We the people just need to march on parliament and take our country back. We don't have to suffer through 4 years of fascism under this speccy fat-headed dictator
The only course left is a strike, and it would likely need to last an entire month. Such an action would be painful, with empty shelves in shops and significant disruption, but it is far better to endure short term hardship now than to face long lasting ruin later. A month without Britons enjoying a proper cup of tea with milk ought to bring the government to its knees. Such a deprivation would strike at the very heart of the national spirit, forcing those in power to confront the folly of their ways. We, the people, can endure the hardship and bear the burden, not only for the sake of our farmers but for the preservation of our future and the generations yet to come. The policies of the Labour government towards farmers are not merely ill conceived, they are disastrous, threatening not only the livelihoods of farmers but the well being of the entire nation. These measures endanger the food supply, send prices soaring, and create a situation ripe for exploitation. Bayer, Monsanto, Bill Gates, and BlackRock would stand poised to seize farmland as farmers, under unbearable pressure, are forced to sell. It is abundantly clear that Labour is no longer the party of the working class. Instead, it has become a party of the privileged one percent, of the idle and disconnected elites, of Islington cliques consumed by ideology. Their policies reek of communist resentment, their actions shaped by envy and spite. The parallels with Stalin’s treatment of Ukrainian farmers during the Holodomor are chilling. Then, as now, destructive policies are cloaked in the language of progress, but their true consequence is misery for the many and enrichment for the few.

I don’t live in the UK but have family over there and they all voted Reform. I don’t understand why did so many vote labor? They have a terrible track record!
Labour only received 30% of the vote ,unfortunately the conservative vote was spilt between them and Reform our election system is set up so only Labour or conservative run the country , reform should have taken many more seats enough to be the 3rd largest party but our system does not allow that 😡
We didnt
Unfortunately, a vote for Reform was a vote for Labour
Sign the petition to save our farmers 🏴🇬🇧
Well done Ollie .I watch you everyday and can see the desparation that you and other farmers are going through not just from the budget but the climate and other environmental factors. Keep up the fight mate the public are with you
labour work for blackrock.....
good on ya Olly👍
Weren't Gates and Fink lurking around 10 Downing Street just the other week?
Thank you for making me aware of a petition. Just signed up. Good luck to the farmers.

@@Cherrytune386 Welp, found the labour voter!
labour introduiced the modern inheritence tax in 1974, under Harold Wilson. It certainly had the effect of defenestrating the wealthy. But actually it does not raise much income, and it is a tax that is more about envy than anything else. Of course it is also a tax that wealthy people find easy to avoid. So it hits the middle classes hard. About time it was scrapped.
It only affects as a small minority of super rich who plead poverty whilst drawning on massive government subsidies. It's time the Bentley driving farmers paid their fare share!
@@martynblackburn9632 unbelievable how wrong your comments are on this. Absolute drivel. The average farm of 200acres will be hit by this, the same average farm that last year drew a farm income of less than £50k. I don't know any farmers that drive Bentleys...the Subaru Forester is very common though.
@@martynblackburn9632 that is complete nonsense!
And then Nigel Lawson in the 80s thought it was a great idea to exempt this tax from the richest landowners in Britain. Everybody else pays 40% IHT .
@@JamesFlynn-yd2fq Do some research. Lawson was the chancellor of a government that established growth, fixing an economy that was floundering, and establishing the right of the government to govern.
Brilliant interview Ollie thank you for all you are doing
Sign the petition for a general election. The Preston Journalist posted a link on his channel this morning.
It's not about farming and tax revenue, it's about government wanting the LAND released and unlocked from decades of family ownership. In jumps BlackRock and the rest is history....
It's time that the largest land owner in the UK (after the crown) was made to pay inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and land tax. Talking of course of the Church. The morals of the Church embodied by Welby. Why does the Church escape the billions it must owe.
If we don't have food security our enemies could use a naval blockade and starve us into submission. Anyone remember food rationing during WWII? Anyone think it couldn't happen again?
Just sign the petition, Do your duty please
MMMMMM! I wonder why people aren't so outraged about having to sell the home and assets when they go into care homes. as they have done since the 1980's under Thatcher?
No one is going to vote labour again!
Do you want a bet ? There are a lot of very stupid people out there !
They will, there's no cure for stupidity.
100 years of 2 parties suggests otherwise
The Muslims will, check out the recent local elections in Glasgow!
Only just over 17% voted Labour!!, blame the voting systems, over 80% DO NOT WANT LAABOUR!!. Farage is trying to change the old system. We are not living in a democracy. It needs to change!!
Petition signed
It's not accidental it's an agenda they want the land
We stand with farmers
I know counsellors in the farming community..suicide calls through the roof...
They should do a national strike. Open shops & only sell to the public, with limits as to what you can buy, so other shop keeps cannot stock up their shops.
1 million acres of farmland are owned by 25 Dukes and Lords dating back to the Magna Carta… Tax all of them to the hilt! You’re being played.
They are in heritage trust and will pay no tax.
@ Read lie of the Land…
@@BarbourWardrobe Funny enough it’s on my reading list… We’re running out of food and Ukraine is the only country that’s left not being impacted by climate change as much as others. South America in Drought through deforestation, on the 5th November 48 states in the US in drought huge crop failures expected in 2025.China, Africa, India , Southern Europe serious Agricultural problems through extreme weather. All about Control of food and fresh water .
A trust is revalued every 10 years with an in built tax bill
They no doubt want to confiscate that as well
Farmers need tax relief and subsidy if you want cheap food for the masses. If you remove both of the above then expect food to become expensive. Simple maths even reeves, starmer and co can understand.
The Labour party's grotesque horror show continues unabated.
😂😂😂😂😂 You should see what the Cons did to our country over 14 years!!!!
If you think they were bad wait until jobless figures go up and the IMF is running the country
The Tory wing of the Lib-Lab-Con UniParty started this rewilding, wind power, solar and house building nonsense.
SUPPORT THE FARMERS!
Curious to see larry fink blackrocks boss in a meeting with starmer, probably about land
Tell the people to just shop british foods
This interview has been the most sensible and informative discussion l have seen. It gives an action plan. Will look forward to seeing the discussion with the PM
And Starmer today outlines that he wants to get a grip on those on Welfare Benefits, whilst actively encouraging farmers to join the long list of unemployed!
Why is it ok to have any kind of inheritance tax? 🤔
Never here keir has been on at least 165 flights ✈️ and counting
Flashbacks to the 1970's , but this time we will be supporting a greater good
The people support our farmers 100%. We need our farmers. We don't want or need this Labour Party who do not represent working people.
Starmef wants fany farms destroyed .Doesnt like people being self sufficient .Get rid of Starmer, Angela Rayner, Rachel Reeves and the rest of the Clown show
I totally understand why the farmers would strike but I don’t for a moment believe it would do any good. The only people to suffer from farmers strikes would be the farmers themselves and the people who buy their produce. The wealthy, privileged and powerful won’t suffer. We need to get this government out and elect one that actually cares about the country and citizens- especially those who are not so wealthy privileged and powerful
I saw a meme that said the amount they need for the NHS is equivalent to the amount the British Government spends on supporting foreign farming. If true, it's utterly asinine. 😮
I believe the gov think that the farmers won’t be able to get together and coordinate a protest. This time they are wrong. The anger is such as I’ve never seen before. Labour have succeeded in galvanising the farmers to rise up together. Unheard of before now.
Pleased keep us informed about what's happening I would support any demonstrations ect...we must protect our farms and British food.
Westminster or Davos?... the latter for quare starer.
Sign the petition!!!! Get rid of Starmer and Labour!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

No chants or hate speeches from the farmers protesting about this terrible Labour government
Let's have a full blown report and publicity for the petition calling for a general election. Put your money where your mouths are if you're truly for free speech and democracy.

@stephenford5839 that's clever aye, it would be even more clever if I had any bloody idea what "Bot" means and even is...🤡🐑😂
@ I can be less polite. Arse.
We recently had a GE - we live in a democracy. If you don't like the outcome, you can vote in five year's time.
@@BarbourWardrobe No, but I don't see why we can't after the complete mess it has left us in and it's 8 years since the last one.
We the people just need to march on parliament and take our country back. We don't have to suffer through 4 years of fascism under this speccy fat-headed dictator
So you were happy with the last 14 years.?
The migrants might go hungry
The farmers need to do what it takes to reverse the killer tax
