Kanchanaburi is big province, many tourists attractions, I recommend Ban Ee Tong villlage, Thong Pha Phum national park, longest wooden bridge at Sang Kla Buri. It is better to stay overnight. It is also a hot spring near Erawan waterfall.

Visiting the waterfall must be during the rainy season, not on a day of heavy rain. A small fish comes to help clean your feet. By eating bacteria on the feet
Once upon a time (3 years ago) this place was pristine, now it's over run with tourists and it's turned into a cesspool. It's unfortunate. I live in Thailand, and the biggest misuse of the parks are by tourist usage and disregard of the environment.

Beautiful Erawan waterfall. I never go there long time ago. Bangkok and Kanchanaburi not so far.

Not sure I would compare it to a cesspool... but it was definitely more crowded than post-covid... which was an amazing time to be in Thailand.
