I had lived in Seattle for three years and live in Japan now. I went to Uwajimaya a couple of times every month to get Japanese ingredients. I was at the store the same day you went too! I wish I went ahead and got my haul together. Picked up a bunch of natto, nori, umeboshi, yaki soba, tonkotsu ramen, ramune, and some little snacks. I wish you could do an onigiri video...they sell them premade at the place I go to, but it would be cool to see how to make them
Japanese has the most interesting food items! I love shopping at the Japanese stores and I'm Mexican!!! Lol

Oh yes! Thanks for that video. I will move to Seattle in October. But only for one year as an Au Pair. But it feels very comfortable to see a few things in Seatte before moving. :D I'm so exciting to see the supermarket. I love japanese food.

I make "the triangle sushi" at home with a kit that its sold at most Asian stores, pretty sure they carry it in the store you were at, and is very easy to use. Great haul. Thanks Benji:)

Since watching your vlogs/videos I saw the KerryGold block Cheese and butter at my grocery store and I have tried it and love the flavor... Just have to have it in moderation, but so worth the price!

Hey Benji since you mentioned you love eggs, you could add those shirasu in scrambled eggs and fry this in just a little bit of olive oil like how you cook scrambled eggs. Certain regions in Philippines have it for breakfast (lunch or dinner).

I love Uwaji's! I don't go to the one in Seattle very often, but when I do I am like a kid in a candy store! Lol There is a Uwaji in Renton too, but it's not as big.

Where I live, there is a Japanese supermarket here, close to Sacramento city college... it's called "OTO'S"... I actually did a vlog on that grocery store last year.... its a pretty awesome place! Since Japantown is 2 hrs away, towards San Francisco!
Wish this store was in St.louis I love trying new foods. I try to shop at Chinese store but I don't know what to buy. Great video

Wish we had something like this in Trinidad. We have a few Chinese grocery stores but they sell regular groceries, with maybe 2 or 3 aisles that sell Asian foods. Goin to see if they hVe Pocky. When i lived In the states, e oriental store in my hometown was amazing! My mom and I would go in for one thing and come out with tons of bags!
The marshmallows that you said what are these are actually marshmallows but has the taste of the Japanese drink calpis .Taste very nice the packeting of it is the same as the marshmallow packet

Hi Benji! Hoshigaki is one of my all time favorite dried fruits. They are peeled and hand massaged every few days. Takes about 5 weeks to be completely dried. Such a meticulous process. Those drinks are full of sugar :(. And the "flavor" in Japanese snacks and ramen/yaki soba are usually loaded MSG. But so yummy! Best is homemade to control the ingredients. ONIGIRI!~ Yummers. I buy the seaweed wraps and make my own! You should try doing that. I am sure the Japanese store sells them. I love making it with salted plum "ume". Easy portable lunch! That store looks awesome! I would leave with shopping bags full! Have you been to 99 Ranch?
You shoul try Durian. A city in the Philippines called Davao grows that fruit and we call that the King of Fruits! They say it "Smells like hell but taste like heaven". Lol i love Durian!

Can't go wrong w/ KerryGold (esp. their butter). My Mom loves those Choco-shrooms, I don't know what's so special about them. I tried a couple cans of those coffees, they were not good. I need to go to an Asian supermarket to get those Melona Honeydew ice-cream pops & this one frozen sponge (?) cake bar that reminds me of memory foam mattresses material (I forgot the name & brand) that I had only twice years ago. They had a great assortment of Loacker Wafer Quads, but I need to find those savory pockys.

The original Pocky, also the korean Pepperro is actually much better!! Its a little more expensive, but the type of chocolate is more savory and better quality

(btw, those strips of candy are sold by the strip... they're not labeled for individual sale! We get many people who tear off one package and we have to tell them at the register that they need to buy the whole thing!)
