Well done for the creativity used in making this video. The drone footage really does give you a superb view of the railroad at work. As a Brit who models American Railroads your videos help me no end in trying to capture the American scene with the details that you don't normally see at ground level. Thank you for sharing and have a safe and prosperous New Year.
Several months ago when I was chasing the Mount Vernon local with my friend Cheri we were at the shield Street railroad crossing and I got to take a picture in front of Ohio Central #4098 my friend Cheri took the picture and the crews are so nice and friendly
Great video Scott Taipale that crew earned their money on this one industry alone, railroad switching is a puzzle, thank you for sharing peace and blessings to you and your family.
Boy, does this bring back memories (switching out an industry)! Being a former locomotive engineer, I always appreciated a good conductor. It made the work almost enjoyable. Always remember...safety first! *the 10,000th viewer*
Yessir. It is incredible how much easier the job is when the engineer and conductor have a good working relationship. Doesn't always happen. I'm sure that over the years, as you said, you appreciate the good ones and sometimes dread others.
Really nice video. That indoor storage for 13 cars is a whopper. Don't find that many boxcar reliant industries anymore. From the air it looks like an industrial slinky. Really liked the shot at cab level at the grade Xing with the white house in the background. Thanks for following the old CR vets
That looks like probably a cardboard box manufacturing plant, which would mean the cars were full of giant paper rolls, thus why they wanted to keep it inside.
One summer (1984, I think) I worked on the crew that was ripping out the old PRR between Mt. Vernon and Columbus. I would go to the home of my good friend Jeff McCann in Newark, who was the foreman of the crew, and we would carpool from there up Ohio Rt. 13, which parallels the track. The derelict passenger car that appears at 23:14 is a former B&O combine that was being used as a hobby shop. It's been closed for a very long time. Jeff later went to work for Ohio Central as a conductor, and after we lost him to cancer in 1994, the railroad named a locomotive after him.
Nice footage. Love autumn. My wife and I occasionally catch the local to Mt Vernon on our trips down through 'Nerk, Ohia' . Outfit that I travelled for had castings made at the old Foote Foundry in Fredricktown. Years ago it wasn't unusual to find a loco idling on the siding by the mill there, maintaining temp, over the weekend.
Wow awesome catch I like chasing Ohio Central trains I especially like chasing the Mount Vernon local the Mount Vernon local once set at the East main Street Railroad Crossing for 4th Straight days that was several days ago
The old passenger car that is sitting in vanatta Ohio that you're talking about I think that used to be on the old Pennsylvania Railroad main line back in the day and they turned it into a train and railroad model shop it's sad to see it sitting there rotting I'm hoping Ohio Central picks it up and takes it and gets restored and fixed and maybe they can run it on the Cuyahoga valley scenic Railroad or the Zanesville and Western scenic Railroad
In St Louisville Ohio near the dog hollow road railroad crossing there's a little train trestle too that doesn't have a creek going under it and it's nothing but dry land
At 19:54 in this video I noticed the train trestle and the train crossing it and the north fork licking River the water is looking pretty deep I would love to come down here and do some fishing sometime
Nice video, my friend! Hell yeah! A Super 7 alive and still on service! Here in México we still having Super 7's (C30-S7R, C30-S7N and C30-S7MP), but we only use them on yard service or in local trains. Greetings from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
Nice Drone footage! I always wondered where those high horsepower GE B36''s & B40's went. They were in much too good of shape when the Class 1's got rid of them.
That's why there's no sound ! I kept putting up the volume! 🤣 Sky Drone! Does look like a model train set. Looks like ex-CONRAIL Quality looks like a patch job leased unit🤔 or CSX ex -Conrail blue gold lettered! 🤣 This is real Great shots! 😃
7:35 mark: 7 boxcars pulled out from that covered building. Bigger than it looks. OK. 7 spotted and wider shot of building. Yeah, that's a very large building.
Lots of beautiful footage in here, but it's rather underexposed -- might want to have a look at the camera settings. For example, at 23:00, the white yield sign and the white excess height patch on the box car are both rendered as about 50% grey.
should of read the description of the video and you would of seen this text from it in quotes "Sorry about the no sound but they were well out of sight of the road so I really couldn't record audio this time!"~Scott!
Have you been to Hebron Ohio lately and is Ohio Central still using the grain elevator and the railroad track that runs and goes behind Hendrickson glass then becomes abandoned near high Street and US State Route 40
Scott, a little bit of narration would have helped here. Why all the moves? Should have blocked the cars before leaving the yard. Nice video none the less. Keep up the great work! Always a pleasure to watch your vids.
What town is that warehouse in and what do they ship/receive? Love those drone shots, make for great MR ideas. thanx for taking the time to make it-even if it isn't perfect, it's a snapshot that most of us never get to see. I am assuming the TBOX car next to the loco as an idler to keep it out of the building?
Is this current/recent footage? The fall colors are making me scratch my head because I watched a Jaw Tooth video earlier and the trees were still green....???
Excellent video, Scott, as always. I like the switching, sound or no. The class I’s used to do this; now they leave it to short lines. Looks like the route to Newark is old. Which railroad built this line?
The Class I roads do a lot of this. Trust me. But they have sold off branch lines and short line operators inherited many customer opportunities like those developed on OHCR
Great video as always Scott👌 What actually caught my attention, were the trucks of the 4098 locomotive using elliptical springs, will they be original or transferred😕
They're pretty unique locomotives... both are former Monongahela 'Super-7' GE rebuilds, that were rebuilt from the also unique former Western Pacific U23Bs, as those were built with EMD trucks (trade-ins presumably, but not confirmed)
I hope you guys do serious economic recovery. It'd be great to have some Newark -to- Hamilton type mutual exchange. I've no idea what would be great, for you, though. Locomotive maintenance is expensive. We need business, here, in Hamilton, badly. A non-cash benefit ( like donated spare box cars ) or somesuch. Plus a small fuel subsidy, etc. Really cheap extra capacity "loaned out" would be fantastic. My other problem is - I don't know what Newark produces, that would be valuable to Southern Ontario. I also don't know what Newark needs (imports) to support a mini-surge in the economy.
A great video and I liked the drone's eye view. I see your railroads suffer from the graffiti scum the same as over here in Europe! When are they going to cracking down on this criminal damage as that is what it is!
Great video! Industrial switching plus rural town crossings with drone and ground footage is really nice! Thank you!
I love drone footage like this. Looks like a model railroad but it's the real deal. So cool. Thanks for the post.
Realy! Amazing

Hats off to Engines #4098 & #4093 OHCR great switching job and video
Gotta love that old jointed rail sound; thanks for sharing

Almost looks like a model from way up. Cool s bend shot at the end
Di dalam tempat pabrik apa ya....
At 23:20 there is a very old passenger car up against the front or side of the house. I don’t know if anybody saw it but that was neat.

Enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing!
Amaizing footage..... you've really mastered drone work no doubt.

That B40-8 has an awesome K5LA
Sure does
That green boxcar with the tree symbol I sometimes call it the element boxcar cuz it reminds me of Element skateboards
Very nice videography, Thanx.
Great video! Nice rail activity! Good work, Scott! Thumbs Up🚂🚂😎👍

International Paper Corp. There are a lot of packaging companies in the area.
Great catch and video work. 👍😊😊
That warehouse really had a hat trick there hiding so many boxcars for switching lmao
GREAT UPLOAD THANKH FOR SHARING, HAVE A GREAT DAY
Love the little guy at the end. Probably not so little any more
Nice video work.
There might be some pretty big decent sized fish in this spot too
16:41 I am making this into a picture to hang on my wall. Absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

beautiful scenes..
good news is that the cars and the goods always get somewhere
Awesome video, great drone shots, the switching is my favorite but needs some sounds or music. Keep up making great videos 😊

linda maniobra en lo alto seve de lujo
that train was hauling Hobos to montana
A good video.
Wow Wow excellent video my dear friend. Amazing footage. Lovely your video by the way. Watching video full from Vietnam. Hope you see me. Thanks 🙏
Looks like the loco's are equipped with EMD trucks.
Nice video! What kind of freight is delivered to the warehouse?
Found it......in Mt. Vernon (Ohio) @ International Paper
Relaxing clip.

Thanks for watching. I don’t really have too much to tell. I’ve never filmed them switch here, don’t know what the place hauls…
Great video of local switching not as common any more

That is a cool layout and awesome scenery.
Where is this ? What state ? The leaves are already changing
I am in eastern PA and we are still in summer
My home state of Ohio...
Leaves change very soon in Ohio
any chance you got a photo / car # of the full car tag that got spotted in the warehouse?
Now THAT is a catch!!!!!
Nice video. OC is my favorite..
Thank you
Thanks.
Superb!
Real Nice !
good morning
nice Video👍💯

Hey! Are you gonna catch 765 this weekend at all? We just got off a train ride on it. I always love the views you do. Keep up the great work
We did the dinner date last weekend in the Silver Solarium dome. Tomorrow and next Sunday we’ll ride coach.

I love trains guess what I love cargo train steam trains steam locomotives and passenger trains but the most engine and I love to see CNCP yes S
It’s never good to “hump” railcars. Thé can screw up other cars, people, other tracks, etc. It’s just never a good idea to “hump” rail cars.
Nice 👍
