I had a chemical pregnancy and I totally understand how you feel about that. I secretly hold that baby in my heart but I also don’t like saying “I had a miscarriage” because it feels almost untrue. It’s a really tricky balance with my own emotions and others emotions

Even if you don’t feel comfortable saying you had a miscarriage, maybe it would make you feel better to acknowledge it by saying that you had a loss? Because IMO, you did. When that embryo didn’t make it, every single moment of the rest of your life changed. Sending love to you and to the little one that you hold in your heart.
I also had a chemical with my ivf embryo in feb and i have one left.. going back in a month or so to try again now that I'm feeling better. Its a rough journey for sure but it helps knowing were not alone. Best of luck and hopefully its good news for both of us!

IMO, an embryo is already a person, whether it is carried to term or not. So if you lost an embryo at any point in its life, that counts as “a loss.” Even if you had never had a positive pregnancy test, you lost that child, and that changed every single minute of what the rest of your life would have been like, if you had not lost that embryo. I had a failed transfer at one point in my journey, and I still consider that a huge loss for my life. I make it a point to celebrate that child every year on what would have been her due date. So YES, Nemo 2.0 will be a rainbow baby if he or she makes it!
I had a dream last night that I was at the hospital with you and Larry. I dreamed you gave birth to a dark haired 7lb 6oz baby girl named Charlotte, and I even got to hold her! The dream felt so real. I truly felt like I was there with you guys. It’s even more crazy, because I have a daughter named Charolette who just turned 10 last week. ❤️ I may not physically be there on delivery day, but I am spiritually with you guys every step of the way. Now that people name everything, including life events such as pregnancy after loss , i think you're right , you call it what you feel , it's not like you are ignoring the fact of a not viable pregnancy...i just recently figured out i miscarried a month before concieving at around 15 days pregnant...my earth side was high risk pregnancy and has a heart condition that made the first 73 days of his life be in the NICU... he's a miracle anyways rainbow baby , first born any way you call it.

Yes chemical pregnancy 100% counts as a loss, an embryo was there and it tried..... It maddened me that for awhile my clinic (another SG in a diff state) told me they DIDN"T count. But my MFM and OB count them ---and most RE's count them now too---I've had 5 chemicals, 1 ectopic (unknown location) and 3 MMC ranging from 7-12 weeks (and amazingly 1 live birth--my miracle unicorn I'm thinking my single golden egg lol b/c--still working on miracle baby number 2 hopefully) My RE finally started to acknowledge my chemicals as losses when I started to also have later losses.
