Many a night, I performed this on stage in smoky barrooms all over Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana and Alabama watching the dance floor fill up in seconds. I don't believe I ever sang this once where the dance floor was not full. Was always a great feeling. We need more writers like ole Dean!

I saw Dean back in the late 80's at Poor Davids Pub in Dallas. He opened for Guy Clark. I doubt that many there that night knew who he was until he told of the songs he had written for George Strait. I became a fan that night. If you've never seen Guy Clark I urge you. He's God among Texas songwriters.
