Looking back when I was going through what felt like would never end this the realist advice say that prayer ask for guidance and no matter how far it feels there is a light at the end. Well said @andrewmilllermuturi4638
I’m going thru the toughest lesson in my life right now, so I also came back here for guidance. I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s seeks j.cole’s old music therapeutic. God bless everyone.
This song definitely saved me in more ways than one. I am pretty successful and grateful for the life I live now every so often I come back to listen to this song to see how far I have come. If you’re reading this and going through some shit.....it will get better
It’s crazy coming back to this song 12 years later and reflecting on each time I would put it on when I was going thru something. Keeping a strong mindset helped me get thru all the dark times and I’m grateful and proud of where I’m at now
Nah man, the last thing i want to happeb is that a lot of people are gonna start listening to the old cole music. Lets keep the real fan base small and fine
music has been my best friend throughout life.... one i can listen to when needed.... and now as a 21 year old tryin to stay on track n become something, what music has become confuses me, leaves me lost... Ever since I came across J COLE, i can relate... just a man tryin to make his dreams come true through hard work and reaching out to others... Fuck the money, fuck the drugs, J COLE is what i need these days
This song is the creamiest of all J Cole's songs for me.... I discovered it 7 years ago back when I was in my mid collage years going through a lot of shit, experiencing the impacts of my parents' divorce at the same at the time... It gave me hope and strength to focus and finish my degree. Thankfully I finished my degree but still life hasn't turned out the way I planned it, 5 years later after college still haven't landed my first job for the profession i studied just stuck on a dead-end general job that isn't in line with my profession I studied. Early this morning i just got robbed of my phone and some cash on my way to work. But here I am back listening to this song because it always gives me hope to keep on fighting on matter how bad and dark things are in my life.
Cole is no doubt in my mind the best rapper, producer and writer. I love when i discover his tracks. His music is so consistent, he rhymes his stories and poetically describes a story that everyone can relate to.
I thank JCole for all the help and motivation he gives me. His lyrics still impact my life in such a positive way, just like everyone I've been thru a lot and truly his music has helped me get through countless moments. Thanks Cole
Reminiscing the time I listened to this for the first time, I was going through a phase as a man. J Cole has always been someone I have looked up to. I appreciate the greatness, Master!
"Asking for the Lord to show me all my signs." "And so I am asking if you can hold me down Lord, be my umbrella-ella-ella in this down pour," "...that's why you never see me settle cause they want us here." #respect #jcole
Man this song is incredibly deep. It's gotten me through a lot. Great message about ambitions, dreams, and a relationship with God. THIS is real music.

Lil DGabriel Not long after the money was rolling in while he didn't have to lift a finger. His first two albums I liked, the last one I really didn't.
For me it was 2010. Dark, cold, snowy days. 1200 miles away from home and grinding my way through my college winter semester. Struggling. FNL and The Warm up got me through some battles.
It’s a trip, been listening to this man’s music since I was 12 and now I’m 28 still anticipating more albums from him. I knew he was my favorite rapper but I never thought he’d be one of the goats. Im so happy to see I was wrong🙏🏽
Heard this song when I was in 6th grade 2010 my boy showed me j cole and said “this fools gunna be famous asfuck one day he raps about real life shit” shit still baffles me the words this man was speaking were so important that a 6th grader could visualize pain and struggle on a spiritual connection level
