  • Tony Stewart made headlines this week for his harsh remarks during an interview on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio about the performance of Stewart-Haas Racing over the last couple of seasons. The NASCAR Hall of Famer didn't hold back, criticizing the organization's recent run on the track, insisting that he must see improvement in 2024, or there will be changes, including to personnel. He also mentioned how they were going to miss the leadership of Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola but are excited about the energy at the shop with the young drivers eager to prove themselves.
Interestingly, according to an interview on the same channel just days before with the longest-tenured driver at SHR, Chase Briscoe, there's a reason for the renewed excitement at the shop because the newly assembled group of drivers are on the same page and working together as a team. Something he surprisingly admitted didn't really exist in the past with the two veteran drivers.

I think it's interesting that chase Briscoe is pointing fingers. The last couple years from what I've seen out of him, he doesn't have a whole Lotta room to talk because his performance has been pretty lackluster except for maybe one or two races one win.

He wasn't the only one who has pointed fingers and said s*** besides Tony even Noah's crew chief said shit before chase or Tony and even Rodney at homestead said s*** No he wasn't pointing fingers and anybody but himself really when He seems so dumbfounded with the new car as supposedly he doesn't know how to find more speed because he's old school It's like he hasn't figured out how to adapt to new school and the rules surrounding the car

First of all, this is bullshit chase didn't say anything but wants to be teammates more. Straight up shr 1.5,, 2 mile cars sucked 2023 chase car sucked!! He is a top ten driver at every track. If he was in the 24 or 20 car he would have had 5 wins in 23. Shr its not the drivers. Chase should point fingers because he can win in decent equipment an it's the equipment that's the problem point blank.

I get it he doesn't make decisions on cars, set ups or micromanage the teams. but he is the ultimate leader of that organization. and it just appears to me that he might be spread a bit thin, and appears to be happier when he's drag racing

He is happier at the NHRA track He has made that clear and I think it's just because something new and Isn't stressing him out like all the expensive fines the last few years with crew chiefs not trying to not be old school to try to get speed and not wanting to take NASCAR's threats of stiffer penalties serious

I also think that Stewart is his own worst enemy at times on and off the track over many years.A great driver who at times was very confrontational with many and had no reason to be.He wasn’t changed in this aspect with his own team. Haas is also out to lunch too btw.

Isn't Tony co-owner of the team? Doesn't he hire/fire for major positions? It sounds like he is passing the buck. IMHO.

Tony needs to look in the mirror. Cup team owners can't have all the distractions that Tony has and be competitive on the track. He needs to pick a lane and stay in it or SHR may once again be haas automation.

I think in all of this is a lack of leadership within this team.People have been critical of Ford which I think has become the scapegoat of this team. Look no further than RFK and what has happened there. Keselowski came and changed the whole culture and btw they race Fords and are a key partner too.

If there's a leadership problem then Greg zippodelli needs to be replaced because it says job to be the leader that's what he is paid to do though Tony has said drivers or whoever can call him Day or night and talk

The owner not taking ownership. I don’t set up the cars, I’m not the crew chief. Yikes. Don’t say stuff like that.

Tony Stewart is not leadership quality. Leaders take accountability.
