The Rod Shop tubular style IFS is engineered for easy installation, performance driving and broader range of alignment adjustments. With the popularity of HQ-WB Holdens growing every day we decided to build a no compromise front clip that will not break the bank. This front clip will provide the ultimate in handling and strength.
The only clip on the market with dual camber curves so it performs well on the street, drag strip, or track. This front clip is based on our Wilwood spindles with bolt on steering arms. This allows the best geometry and to maximize comfort and performance.
This front clip is a complete bolt-in package reusing factory mounting points. Open up your engine compartment and drop a range of engines on the nose of your Holden. All tig welded for the highest quality, strength and finish available. Available with dropped or stock height spindles to provide a ride height that matches your specific desires. Viking double adjustable Coil-over shocks come standard and provide further height adjustment and 361 different valving combinations for comfort and control.

Good looking front end. I’d love to see you guys do a future build with one of these front ends.
I still remember seeing these in prototype form at the Rod Shop opening day years ago... they were rocking Corvette brake setups and I’ve wanted one ever since.
If you ever film a how-to video on bolting and setting one of these up I’ll volunteer my HX sedan as the candidate!
I have a wb van, brakes are my issue. Also had a 73 corvette and often wondered if the 4 piston callipers would fit. Guess the problem would be fitting wheels over them. Not that much of an issue now, my chrome GTS rims are rusty now, and can't find anyone who can re chrome them.
Amazing, ill look into it, i'm restoring my old HZ premier( might need to restore it twice by the time iv finished))
Very nice. I wish you guys made one to suit the second gen camaro and firebird, with the exchange rate and shipping it's very expensive to get something like this from the states now.
Quality as always, keep up the good work guys.
"Sigh" I will get one when i win lotto (I must say they are a pretty good price)
Would you be possibly doing a build with these awesome front ends?
Great idea. Would love to see that
Hope you got a Rod Shop Boat Build somewhere, coz planes aren't leaving the country for a couple of years so I hear.
Cleeta gonna have to pick up Real Deal, Warbird, and Killer Bee and Park em at his Joint.
Sure he wont mind with that new Burnout pad just laid at FF.
Top Shelf Bro !!!
Shame there's no ute/panel van full chassis available
I can forsee rego issues. The HQ - wb chassis number is on the old subframe. Tough issue to get past at Vic roads.
Would it not make sense to put original Chassis number from your specific car one ok replacement Chassis???
After informing Vic Roads you have to use a reproduction Rod Shop Chassis to get past a bent or rusted out original Chassis clip!!!
Over my 40yrs of trade life I have found the simplest truthful reason for modifying passes without hassles.
As long as my attitude is right on the day of course😉🙂👍👍
Keep up the good work. They look great. Do they come assembled or do you have to fit brakes and suspension yourself ? I also have a HZ with 50000km has been in family from new and hasn’t been driven for 30 + years
America has come to Australia 🇦🇺
Haveyou guys got a way of getting more steering lock from these oldies 👌
trick kit...hope you are goinggangbusters I 2022
Nice front end . Pitty the price puts most out of the idea of even buying one . Ah we can dream though .
How about a full chassis for a Ute.
You guys gonna do barra-hq mounts by any chance?
Please do a 67-72 f100 chassis
You should do the mk3 cortina front clip /k frame there like a hr holden front just abit beefier
👌👌👌👌👌🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Agreed!
U lads gunna b doin a ute soon?
fingers crossed its going to be ready by the end of the year, But we it could go in to the new year.
Prob;lem is that they no longer conform to ADRs. Both the front subframe and the engine are designed to bend and go under the car in an accident,
With that nothing will. Bolting a standard front subframe up solidly will largely reduce chassis twist. But the rubber is there for insulating road noise, it also aids in the designed to bend and go under in an accident.
And so many of those cars have twists and bends I suspect fitting this will be a potential disaster.
And where do you get the caster? Besides cocking the top wishbones around. Which is poor from GMH. To make them turn they need modern caster settings of 6-8 degrees and you simply cannot get it with top wishbones.
An adjustable strut [XF Style] lower control arm is required using a proper rubber bushing, ideally bigger than the Falcon one.
Or a lower balljoint an inch ahead of the top one but even then aligning with top wishbone bolts is still not great.
We tell everyone that buys one to speak with an engineer first to ensure that they will be approved. We have had the testing done and supply an engineers report to help with the process at the other end.
My engeneer says no way
Is there anything designed for the rears of that Holden range
Do you guys have anything to upgrade the front rear end on a ms55 toyota crown?
How much
i remember the upper control arm used to crack off the original front chassis
Are you doing a ute version?
We are working on it, we have done a prototype that we had at Motorex last year. we hope to have it sorted out soon.
@@CastlemaineRodShop1976 no worries guys can't wait to see it
Do these not suit utes/Tonners because of weight bearing/load rating reasons? Would they suit a race only ute?
A ute, van and one tonner, has a full chassis, so no these don't fit.
What about WB Ute??
Shame I’m building a one tonner
can you use a mitsubishi L 300 front end assy ...
Do you have for a barra
Is there any weight difference?
are these up to nz lvvt standards ?
Would this work in any American Made car? Do they share platforms for a Camaro Firebird?
Im in Australia and have owned a HQ holden and still own a 65 pontiac gto. Athough both cars share the basic design pilosophy (gto is full chassis but still very similar) the holden is slightly smaller overall and these would not bolt in to both cars. Knowing what my gto handles like and the current value of the aussie dollar i think the rod shop guys would have a large market for American A bodys if they chose to make one.
What's the difference between sedan/wagons v ute/panelvan? Not familiar with H chassis cars.
The utes/panel vans run a full chassis bumper to bumper👍
@@longy77 ah I see, awesome thanks man 👍
Thought they were all full chassis 👍
The sedan at rear if i recall right is a single bolt set up , The wagon at the rear is a two bolt set up being a bit longer . And the wagon will fit under a sedan set up as the bolts holes are already there . I fitted a wagon chassis under a HQ Statesman ..
You know how much vibration you will have if you do not run the rubbers to the body...?
Use the rubbers otherwise you will hate driving the thing.
how would i go about get my car road legal with one in the car
Talk to an engineer 🤷♂️😂
U should always speak to an engineer before doing any major modifications 👍
looks like i made my life more of a pain in the ass by buying a ute
(will not suit Ute / P Van) : ((
Unless you do a cut and shut it will fit
