Raisel wasn't so much the issue though, as he's been lights out for the Braves for the most part. What was garbage was the defense that was behind him, among other things.
On paper, San Diego looks like one of the best teams and most people seem to assume their gonna get the 4 or 5 seed comfortably. I think the Padres are still not nearly as good as people think and are going to completely miss the playoffs. Everyone is WAAYYYY too confident in the Padres ability to make the playoffs for a team that is ONE game ahead of the 4th place Brewers
Mets gave up very little and got better in the little areas. They quietly have the best DH in the league every game now by playing matchups with Ruf and Beef. But they are so good everywhere else. They’re the best team in baseball right now.
The Soto comment, you didn’t follow what led up to this, he wouldn’t sign the last number that the Nats offered so they tried to get the most out of it by trading him and they have already going on a rebuild mode it was best for both. What’s funny is that people like you will get mad about the LA Angles waisting Trout and Ohtani, which that organization doesn’t know what direction they’re going, but you want to give the Nats organization an F because they know where they are at. Make up your mind.
I don’t understand why u can already grade deadline moves already. Montas had one start and it was bad it doesn’t mean that he’s a bad player as a whole
Amazing going back to this and seeing Jordan Montgomery going 4-0 with the Cardinals with a 1-hit shutout. It's still probably a B because the Cards do always make safe trade deadline moves but Quintana has been very good too. It's wild to watch what the Cards are doing right now and Yankees fans are hating that trade.
Something I don’t think I’ve seen you do that I think would be cool, ranking all 30 bench’s (when having their best lineup on the field) for example Arcia and Grissom would be on the bench for the Braves even though they’ve been starting lately. Same with Sierra for the Angels
As a Brewers fan I would give them a D, I get trading Hader that I can understand, but I don't understand why we had to DFA Lamet even if we had to make more salary for Bush, then the Bush trade also was ok, but I really hate the Rosenthal trade, not only do we give up a to 20 prospect in our farm system, we only get maybe a month out of Rosenthal, unless we sign him again in the offseason, but we also could have signed him a month earlier instead of trading for him, it was one of the stupidest trades ever and he hasn't pitched in two years so we have no idea how good he actually will be.
i agree with your take on the orioles. they’re playing it safe bc they might not make the playoffs this year so they should sell the value that they have so their future is looking even more bright and they become more dominant eventually
The reds Castillo trade went in cincinnati 's favor, they got tons of prospects and they now have one of the best farm systems in the mlb. Watch them make the postseason in 2 years.
Angels are slowly building their farm system and getting depth. That Raisel trade wasnt as bad as u said. Tucker was the Braves 5th prospect. Chavez has been outstanding. As for Thor, he has been awful for the Phillies and Moniak has been great for the Angels. Not to mention he was the Phillies number 1 pick in 2016 and he’s only 24. I disagree with the grading. Perry Minasian is a not a terrible GM, this is his only 2nd year and he’s starting to build the Angels in his vision not Epplers.
Sucks that he had a 1.048 OPS during his few games with the Angels only to land on the IL from being hit by a pitch... Angels can't catch a break with injuries lol I agree, I thought his Angels grade was wrong regarding almost everything he said but I still love his content and discussing it
C for Jays. We still don’t have reliable pitching, and Mitch while is a filler SP brought in to replace a filler SP. We have only 2 consistent true starting pitchers. We were also trying to make playoffs, and at the start of the season had even higher hopes. Merrifield is past his prime, and is basically an advanced utility player for us.
You forgot the biggest move for the royals. The draft pick trade for Drew Waters and 2 others. Waters is MASHING in AAA and is that big quality name you said they were missing.
Regarding the Astros deadline moves: You mentioned Will Smith is not who he used to be, but have you considered that the Astros tend to take mediocre pitchers and turn them into gold? It's their specialty. Also, I'll give you that Maldonado has been slow offensively, but defensively he looks almost better than ever and since July, he's actually hitting VERY well. Vasquez was supposed to be the catcher who hits, but now they both do so we are never sure who's gonna be starting. lol.
I am a Mets fan but I think the Mets got an A because they did not give up a lot and all the players they got are performing better than we thought. No one that excites you but everyone is performing
As A Tigers fan, I hate that Avila got one last chance this past trade deadline, but better late than never. this may have been his worst deadline. At least he can't do any more damage, but it's gonna be years before we recover from this.
The trades this year seemed very lopsided towards the winning team getting the better deal every time. Mainly a Royals fan, so the main problem I had was with the Royals not trading Merrifield last year or the year before. I think the vaccine status and Merrifields comments soured the Royals fo on keeping him around. I'm with you that I feel the Royals got fleeced on many of the trades. Should've pushed Yankees harder for at least a higher in system prospect, same with the others. Maybe Dayton Moore and company finally get the boot after the next 6 weeks is done? He hasn't been able to put in near as good a farm system as the one that propelled the Royals of the early 2010s. Padres definitely killed the trade deadline and Yankees look more "in" on this year than previous years. The NL is definitely more stacked team wise and I believe their representative in the WS will be the winner, whoever it may end up being
I feel like the royals have actually played really well since the deadline and I think the witt merrifield and benintendi trades allowed the younger solid players to get more time
the M's getting" castillio, was an A+++!!!!! dont care what anyone thinks. plus as i write this, hes already beaten the yankees twice" since my mariners signed him...
Raisel Iglesias is 32 and has the worst hard hit rate in the league and is signed for 3 more years at $16 million. Angels have the 2 of the best closer prospects in baseball with Ben Joyce and Sam Bachman. Dumping that contract for anything is a huge W
As a Redsox fan I'm fine with Hosmer because we needed a 1st basemen badly and a part of the Hosmer deal is the Paders have to pay most of the money that's he is owed
I'm not really surprised by the Franmil move, tough to keep around a DH who's not hitting and will be due a raise next season. They'd rather rotate other players in the slot and move on, and he's an odd type of player where he's not quite good enough to start for a contender, but many non contending teams probably won't spend money on a DH and instead use other players.
I think the Hosmer trade is great for the Red Sox because they're only paying him the minimum for his entire contract, and the Padres are covering the remaining 44 million. So there's really no reason not to have him, no matter how bad he might be (and he's been good so far) he's basically a free player.
Aye it may look like hosmer has been good, but watching him daily as a padres fan you can tell he’s bad. Idk how many games/runs he’s cost us on the defense. He had the hottest April and may, but fell off quickly which is why his stats are so inflated. He’s not clutch at all and has the highest ground ball rates ever!!!
I just got into baseball a few years back and I still dont get the whole TRADE TRADE TRADE frenzy that fans get into right before the deadline. Trading for players, no matter how good they are, is never a guarantee of success or even getting better. The Yankees get an A for their deadline and yet seem to be going into panic mode after losing like 15 games the past 20 days while the dodgers got a D and are flying higher than ever. And then Marc claims the Astros upgraded on catcher and first base but nobody seems to have told the Astros themselves given Maldonado and Gurriel still start over the new guys, Gurriels time might be up but Maldonado will still definitely be the main catcher for the rest of the year.

Raisel wasn't so much the issue though, as he's been lights out for the Braves for the most part. What was garbage was the defense that was behind him, among other things.
Hey Marc! Have you considered doing a video ranking all the smart and dumb organizations in baseball? Either way, another great vid!
Marc: ‘How dare you trade Juan Soto?’
Nats: ‘We offered him $440 million. He didn’t want to stay’
Also if San Diego collapses again, I swear to god…..
And they are collapsing
Only complaint would be for teams like Atlanta who don’t necessarily have much to trade or need much from the trade deadline. Otherwise good vid.
Been waiting for this video since deadline ended!!
Been waiting for this one lets goo
been waiting 4 this bro
Cubs added Franmil Reyes, Marlins also got a PTBNL
Pretty good video, surprised with the Yankees grade a bit. The names are big, but obviously hasn’t worked out for them
The reds Castillo trade went in cincinnati 's favor, they got tons of prospects and they now have one of the best farm systems in the mlb. Watch them make the postseason in 2 years.
Can u do ur mid season predictions for ur mlb standings, awards and playoffs? Would love to watch that video!
Lol his take on the angels deadline in retrospect says A LOT
Angels can't catch a break with injuries lol
I agree, I thought his Angels grade was wrong regarding almost everything he said but I still love his content and discussing it
@@92Vreid88 Yes for sure!
What happened to the monthly power rankings?
After both Quintana and Montgomery's 1st 3 starts I'd give it an A-
Love the moves by the Reds!
Tomorrow at noon time is fine too so I’ll let you know when I’m ready
nice work sir
I feel like for future videos you should add departures onto the graphic with additions
Life long Padres fan here!
You forgot the biggest move for the royals. The draft pick trade for Drew Waters and 2 others. Waters is MASHING in AAA and is that big quality name you said they were missing.
How does Marc not have a million subs yet. Love this man
Regarding the Astros deadline moves: You mentioned Will Smith is not who he used to be, but have you considered that the Astros tend to take mediocre pitchers and turn them into gold? It's their specialty. Also, I'll give you that Maldonado has been slow offensively, but defensively he looks almost better than ever and since July, he's actually hitting VERY well. Vasquez was supposed to be the catcher who hits, but now they both do so we are never sure who's gonna be starting. lol.
I am a Mets fan but I think the Mets got an A because they did not give up a lot and all the players they got are performing better than we thought. No one that excites you but everyone is performing
Let’s go Dodgers baby
I like how Marc keeps flaming Martin Maldonado when he has the best defensive numbers in the league
The NL is definitely more stacked team wise and I believe their representative in the WS will be the winner, whoever it may end up being
I feel like the royals have actually played really well since the deadline and I think the witt merrifield and benintendi trades allowed the younger solid players to get more time
I love your vids! Keep it up!
Thanks Marc for a good grade rj my pirates
The video I’ve been waiting for
Dodgers keep future catcher, 3rd baseman, top of rotation arm, Lux and haven't lost this month A+++++
We need more draft content
Marc, a die hard Dodgers fan from NYC, you think you could do a preview and/or a conclusion to that series on 8/30-9/1?
JOEY GALLO WENT YARD HAHAHA “D”GRADE
Buts since coming to LA Gallo has played very good defense and has hit 3 hrs a double and triple and Chris Martin has been solid in the bullpen
the M's getting" castillio, was an A+++!!!!! dont care what anyone thinks. plus as i write this, hes already beaten the yankees twice" since my mariners signed him...
as a Boston fan, we’re F
Raisel Iglesias is 32 and has the worst hard hit rate in the league and is signed for 3 more years at $16 million. Angels have the 2 of the best closer prospects in baseball with Ben Joyce and Sam Bachman. Dumping that contract for anything is a huge W
As a Redsox fan I'm fine with Hosmer because we needed a 1st basemen badly and a part of the Hosmer deal is the Paders have to pay most of the money that's he is owed
Jays fan here. I whole heartedly agree.
LA DODGERS THE best team in the MLB
Reds 2026 World Series champs calling it now
Marlins getting a former 1st round pick for 2 relievers on expiring contracts should get an A+
You fucked up making fun of Montgomery because he is the best pitcher in the world right now
The only effective outing raisel iglesias had was his sunflower seed throwing onto the field
Then he gave up 1 run for the Braves in 20 IP while we got back Chavez after he got DFA'd, and he went back to being awesome
And that is why the Mets are the best at everything and will win the World Series for the next 10 years & DeGrom will never get injured again
Can you do a reaction vid on the Edwin Diaz trumpet bc that's kinda cool
my world series pick: dodgers vs yankees. as good as the padres are, they cant seem to beat the dodgers right now
From the NL it will be either the Dodgers or the Mets and in the AL it will be either the Astros or the Mariners.
Field Managers have nothing to do with the teams trade deadline. I expected Marc to know that
The Joey Gallo Effect has officially begun
As a Giants fan, we suck but at least we score 4.5 runs per inning against Josh Hader.
The Oreos are playing really good rn
“I think the Phillies 4th place thing is over for now.”
Scott Effross was Stud with the cubs already
