I did grow in that era, shit was awesome, it was mostly Sci Fi, mecha anime, cause the 2000 was near and everyone was expecting a HUGE leap on technology.
Used to watch Transformers and Voltron as a kid and this particular song from the Victory OPening stuck in my head ever since. Absolute killer of an earworm! The Nostalgia is just...legendary!
IDW is done as a company, and their Transformers comics turning into really bad fanfic continuations seem to have hurt it. Of course Dreamwave wasn’t much better but it seemed to want to do takes on the Japanese shows before Pat Lee ran off with all the money. Seeing them trying to reconcile Optimus Prime proper with Masterforce would have been a lot preferable to Revolution.
Yeah. Star Saber and Deathsaurus/Deszaras would be fun to see done well in other Transformers media. I know I've had a Transformers idea where the two of them are prominent commanders in the Autobot and Decepticon militaries, and naturally keeping them as rivals.
@@ZackarySchejbalCODBO2RGM2 Raiden has the problem of having its members having Japanese names, although they could give them good and new names I guess

Fun Fact: this is one of the best songs in transformers history. It goes on the shelf with the Beast Wars theme, Prime theme, and Animated japanese theme. Fun Fact 2: Death Saurus (heck yeah) has a gun THAT EATS METAL. And he actually fires it at someone. He also commited homicide on the Autobots. Also HELL YEAH

I grew up in the early 2000s, even though this is alot older, I had a bootleg DVD of Victory and this is incredibly nostalgic to me. The Victory series of Transformers is the only series I want to collect all of, almost every single character design in Victory just hits for me
I can't believe how many bad reviews there are of this series on IMDB! I really like this Transformers series! They have described this series as being "the very first series that seriously managed to put me asleep", "just plain boring" and the "worst transformers series ever made...so far", which is ABSOLUTELY BLOODY HARSH, SUCH AN OVERSTATEMENT and it describes exactly how I feel about Disney's The Little Mermaid because it's such a s*** film!!!! If you think that this a bad show, then you are an idiot and I totally DISAGREE WITH YOU!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TRANSFORMERS SERIES EVER MADE!!!!!! Btw, the only reason why I am comparing this fantastic series to The Little Mermaid is because they both came out in 1989!!
This series (Victory) gets a bad rep because, unlike most of Transformers series, it's very unidimensional, linear and Starsaber is a Gary Stu (too damn perfect, he almost never struggles, dull personality). Sure, the animation is good but it's hard to follow a series when the main char has very little growth and the rest of the cast is too dependent on him.
@@TheTrueBro I mean, Star Saber's gotta set a good example to his kid, what can I say? Also, if you want unidimensional and linear, Transformers: Cybertron exists.
For the most part that is true. However, there are a small handful of good English openings. Personally, I prefer the English version of "We Are" over the Japanese version.
This series’ music is as generic as it gets though. The American theme is hundreds of times better and is absolutely iconic. Another instance in which an international version of an anime theme song is superior is “Mysterious Cities of Gold”, which has the most incredible electronic synth score, whereas the Japanese version is generic rock guitar that is immediately forgettable. Like John Williams vs. a junior high school student in first-year music.
This is how you do an intro to a tv show. I believe an intro is perfect when it introduces the villains in a very menacing way, such as awesome pose or musical cue

I grew up watching this series. It had an amazing dub in (albeit a bit weird) Latin American Spanish (it mixed American Spanish with European mannerisms). The animation and music was superb.
It was dubbed. As far as I know, links to the dubs are non-existent, and you probably wouldn't want it anyway as the dubs are like the ones you'd find in a typical 70's Kung-Fu Movie. Furthermore, the names of the characters were different from the original Japanese audio (Jinrai for example, was addressed as Optimus Prime, despite the fact that it's not exactly the same Autobot).

While the series never aired in America, it was broadcasted in English (alongside Headmasters and Master Force) from Hong Kong thru the AXN network, a Sony Corp channel airing throughout Southeast Asia.
If the 2021 rider season had actually been Kamen Rider Victory, and also a sequel to V3, then you could basically just use this opening and swap out “transformers” for “Kamen Rider”.
