I was at this game and remember how unique the official looked with the camera on top of his helmet. Fun to see Wesbanco Arena with the old orange seats but also makes you realize how nice the renovation is. Good to see a lot of the old Nailers from that time, Baker and Johnson were tough as nails but also good hockey players. Elmira was a big rival then and it was always fun to beat them. As a big fan of hockey at every level, I am very critical of the officiating, but this video makes you realize how difficult it can be to call a game. The ECHL is a fun league to watch. The talent level is very respectable and they still drop the gloves. Players go up and down from the AHL and the NHL is full of players who have played in the East Coast Hockey League. In fact, the Wheeling Nailers have sent more players to the NHL then any other ECHL team. Lets Go Nailers!
Ah! They didn't insert that little rubber spacer on the buckle. Every time he takes a stride I can hear the buckle repositioning. Otherwise I love Ref GoPro vids.
I remember being at almost every home game of the inaugural season. Played adult hockey at the arena all the way up to their demise. Such a shame the way the organization fell. Hopefully the Enforcers can bring a spark back to the city.
