  • I've made some mistakes in my Atari Jaguar video, linked here: • The Atari Jaguar's MAN...
Well, one mistake - thinking it was advertised as 128 bits when it was advertised as 64 bits instead. Inconsequential, but still wrong. So I wanted to clear that up along with several other things I didn't mention or clarify.
Thanks for correcting me, it helps me make better videos.

Thank you for the corrections. Atari Jag games had a uniqueness to them, I think it was the psycodelic color pallet, but the company was struggling at the time. So even if they had prefected the hardware, it is doubtful they would had been able to secure the third party license needed to be successful.

It pays to do research and double check. If you need Jag/JagCD footage why not use the BigPEmu, and capture it yourself?
It's made by one of the devs that helped Atari make their 50th Anniversary collection, and runs everything pretty accurately.

Only thing I remember about Jaguar was trading in a bunch of my Sega Genesis games to buy one and instantly regretting it.

The Amiga/Atari rivalry was MASSIVE in the early 90s. EVERYONE knew who Atari were! At least in the UK anyway.

It's kind of wild how different that is per region. In Japan during the early 90s, the TurboGrafx16 actually outcompeted the Megadrive. Atari was a laughing stock in the US though by the 90s.

Is that Hotwheels Highway 35 music in the background?

First off, Atari is not an unknown console company, they created the Video Game Industry. They were a juggernaut, Think PlayStation of their time. They fell off after the NA game crash, but still tried to compete with Nintendo. They out sold the Sega Master System during that time.

The 7800 or 2600? I find it hard to believe they outsold the Master system when you take into account it’s popularity in Europe and South America

    128bit Mandela effect bro. I remember the same thing. 2 64-bit processors = 128.
