Young people will not realize what Crown VZ brought to the table : TOP OF THE LINE INNA DE DAY. Man like me could NOT afford a Crown, only dream of owning 2. Crown 5000 and Crest 9001 were the KINGS of rub a dub bassline. Made in the USA Crown 2400, 3600 , and 5000/5002 are built like a tank, and heavier than 3 tanks.
@ganjafarmer1572 Your absolutely right about that...took me years to get a used one 💯
@AcidSoundSystem Raspect King
@@AcidSoundSystem I'm still hunting for one locally and people here try and sell them for the price of a car, there is a gent with a Crown VZ3600 but he does not want to sell it on it's own so while that just sits i am saving up cause the moment he says hi i am now willing then i can give him a proper offer, its not the VZ5000 but it's a start for me and my smaller sound system setup.

YES both of these class D amps hold their own weight for sure but the macrotech is a beast ! Im currently using my 5000vz with my new itech 8000. As for the voltage thing you mention with the power soft, there is something called THD factor in all amps. "Total Harmonic Distortion" plays a huge role in the way an amp behaves at certain levels a voltage peaks. The admark has 1% THD at full output. As for the Macrotech, it has THD of 0.05% at full output. CROWN ALL THE WAY !!!!
As for powersoft, the have a THD of 0.03 at full output. both on the k10 and k20
Big up family love the work your putting in for the culture

@@conradcornwall1443 😅💯💯💯🇨🇦🇯🇲
41:05 The crown wire is thicker because it's a Class A/B amplifier. Compared to Class D amplifiers, Class A/B amplifiers draw more current per watt. This can be compared to the difference between halogen and LED light bulbs; halogen light bulbs are less efficient and consume more power than LED light bulbs, which produce more light per watt and use less electricity.
So thinner wire there does not make too much of a difference? Just want to be sure cause man some of the electrical things i really don't want to constantly remind myself of unless it's something like ohms law, power compression etc. You know the broad basics.
@@EBMproductions1 It's simple, just look at the maximum current draw of the amp's. rated for what type of mains your going to be feeding it, (120, 208, or 240) then look at how long your power cable will be, their's a chart online that will tell you what gauge it should be. Don't be fooled by the efficiency of class D. Class D just gives you more power per amp (current) consumed, but you still got to feed it properly...
@@johnstarks5323 cool yeah i forgot that amp class does depicts these things also on speaker wire, i forgot bout the wire length thing being a issue and one of my home theater subs right now is on a 10meter(33foot) cable im swapping that out this week for a thicker 5 footer one shot i dont believe ill see too much difference but still my poor amps been fighting for its life maybe cause i neglected this aspect and this a thing i learned ten years ago fawk. 😬
@johnstarks5323 btw were lucky here as we have 230v and 240v mains everywhere.

@@platinumprovocateur412 💯💯💯
The reason the power wire is bigger on the Crown is not because the crown is better but because the crown is power hungry and requires more current to make output watts where as the Admark or any other Class D amps requires less current to make it's rated power, hence a thicker gauge wire isn't needed.
Love 💕 the teachings Iya 👊🏽 more 🔥. Nowa is the king of sound system.

I just bought a sound system with just crown amplifiers. I'm planning on shipping it home to Jamaica . I was planning to change the amps out but now listen to this I won’t bother to change them out anymore. At the moment it has 3 1200 crown micro trek now I’m gonna look to buy 2# crown Moro trek 5002 crown and build a crown sound system. It's the same thing I was saying why ppl think the older amp can't play Sweat anymore.
@@RoyalQualityFinishingInc They are nice amps as long as you have the crew to move it lol
Nuff respect ✊🏽
Powersoft X series & Linea Research are the most efficient amps money can buy today with excellent built in dsp that can give bullet proof protection on drivers and excellent sound quality. They use high quality charging capacitors that contributes to the amps efficiency. The Linea Research amps can run 2ohms all day without breaking a sweat on all channels. One of my favorite amps that you mentioned briefly in the live is the Lab Gruppen 14000, in my opinion its the best sounding amplifier EVER MADE, the bass tone on that amp is legendary.
How do you compare the bass notes of the linea research and the lab 1400?
@DW15-q8g Very similar and it's one of the main reasons i bought the Linea Research amps.
What about the Lab clones though?

I use 4 x PSL POWER AMPLIFIER MOD. KA-2401 power amplifier (from the 1990's) they are dual transformer with 24 output transistors in one amp, with P-Audio 1200 watt 18" bass drivers. (QSC RMX on the tops) 8 double 18 speakers in well designed birch plywood boxes. I never run one side of any amp lower than a 4 ohm load and don't tend to run any amp at more than 70% of it's capacity. I use XTA crossovers as I like an analogue sound with no other signal processing in the sound path. I believe in sound good quality not bursting your ear drums. And you are right in this game you do pay for what you get. A lot of sounds also negate the need to use good quality cables as well (neutrik and van damme through out). based in London UK.

ohms is resistance of how current flows in an electrical circuit, one of the reasons wire creates resistance and increase in the ohms is coiling excessive wires at your your amp rack or behind your box it is recommended to keep wire in a figure 8 form to reduce resistance. another reason for resistance is corrosion and oxidation in the copper strands in older wires.

TODD AO project began, he sought out JBL as an initial supplier for the design prototype.
JBL D55
© Harman International , Courtesy Mark Gander and John Eargle
By that time, Bill Thomas was running the company and Bart Locanthi was responsible for technical design. Ampex paid for the development of a loudspeaker system just for this project. It would be known as the D55, or its more famous nickname, the JBL "Scoop". This, and its smaller sibling, the D43, would remain in JBL's catalog until the 1980's as the 4530 and 4520.
Ten speaker systems were required for the prototype. Initially, JBL did not have enough production stock on hand to fill this order. Ross states that two very special compression drivers were substituted to make up the order. According to his recollection, they were 2" diameter throat drivers that Bill Thomas stated were "hand built by Jim Lansing". They were considered so valuable to JBL that Ross had to commit to returning the drivers after the prototype project. These drivers have a unique significance to legacy of Jim Lansing that will be explained later.

I always worried that the smaller and lighter components in newer amps might fail easier, only thing is if like me you have a chronic/Terminal illness then you have no option but to go smaller and lighter. Because carring a Vz5000 will literally kill me from carrying it all the time same with proper dual 18 or dual 21 inch Bass bins so a lighter Amp and lighter Sub setup for me is what makes more sense but for everyone else maybe do a mix to test what works for you however i am glad yall gave me evidence to support my theory.

to be fair the Crown 5000also the QSC 9001 & 10001have insane natural stable power what makes them so good.
nevertheless the slim 1u amps have to compensate in other areas and doing well but the originals i think just have slight edge and thats being honest even though i use Admark AD442s
i think its anout not over processing if using management system thats where i believe alot of sound gents & ladies go wrong
Would the admark last 30 years?
I've got a few, I will let you know in 30 years if they are still working 😂
When a properly tuned sound system In a event the average person that’s there to drink and have fun can’t tell the difference between $800 admark or a $3500 crown
Wen it comes to reliability the price
reflect that if crown made a 800 amp it
probably won’t be reliable
Wen it comes to tone the crown definitely have a better tone
Am like Noah just me controller, mixer management system and amp, while using powered tops.
Remember every big sound that make it to the top back in the days in Jamaica for example Stone Love Jaro Metro Media Inner City Bassodyssey they all play good but different. These big wattage amps only give you more head room

one of the biggest misinterpretations that people often confuse the 2 is signal gain and volume they are 2 different thing and should never be confused and use signal gain to increase volume. this is why the slim girl burn up easier than the thick girl who have more skin can withstand the heat and burn. alot of people increase signal gain to increase volume and this is why there is so much clipping and redline and amps burning up.
