Interesting take on the song ... the choir is actually performing “The Winter Rose” ... a completely different song from a Christmas cantata ... and the juxtaposition of the two works is simply stunning. What’s even more amazing is how Leann collects herself after her heart-felt message just before launching into the performance. Simply amazing 🤩 Luv, luv, luv U, LeAnn ... thank you God for bringing this angel into our world.
I thought the same. It was interesting to watch her get herself under control and steel herself. That's a true professional. I didn't know the other song. Thanks for pointing it out
Yes, it's a setting of "Es ist ein ros entsprungen" written by Michael Praetorious in 1609, but it's a Christmas choral favourite and a hymn to the Blessed Virgin; she's The Rose. This is a wonderful setting for it, how LeAnne and the guys found their notes was remarkable. 12/10 for everyone.

She is one of the best country singers. So warm and sings from her heart. A beautiful person inside and out. Would love to see her perform. God bless her always.
The conductor of the choir is Tim Seelig, the amazing conductor of Dallas' Turtle Creek Chorale. He built the chorale up from nothing, made it world famous, made numerous recordings. And all this while the chorale was being decimated year in and year out by AIDS deaths. Such a dark, dark, time. Such non-stop pain for a decade. I had several friends who sang in the choir until their deaths and for whom the chorale was their closest family. Dr. Seelig and the chorale by the dint of their bravery, artistry and open, raw emotion performed concerts that dragged audiences and finally the entire city into being their supporters. He is now working with the San Francisco chorale. I wish him success. And props to Leann. Any one who can sing that song in that context without loosing it is a real professional.
We saw him and the Turtle Creek Chorale, when we lived in Dallas, in the 1990s. It was the first performance when they said that it was the first year that they had not lost anyone. At the beginning they carried out pots of plants, each one representing a singer that they had lost. I think fifty plants. It was very somber. I was singing with a barbershop chorus, "The Men of Note," In Plano, Texas, at the time, and so it was even more sobering, to us, that they lost more singers than we had. Anyway, they did not let anything stop them from a wonderful performance. and now another plague has crossed us. And like before, someone will try to look for a cause. In the end we are all that we have. No matter what the cause, nor matter what the cure will be, in the meantime we only have each other.
There is a video of that concert. I don't know if it's public or not but I saw it and it was very emotional. And of course there is the documentary produced by Dallas's PBS channel called When We No Longer Touch. It is devastating. But it should be watched.
I just watched Leann sing Amazing Grace... that sent me here ❤ I forgot how beautiful this song is. Thank you for reminding me. My mom's mother used to keep the most beautiful little rose bushes next to her house. No roses seem to smell quite like they did...
@LeAnn RimesI'm a cancer patient and your wonderful singing of The Rose calmed my heart and brought me peace. By the way The MayChina Cafe told me to.tell you they miss you.
@LeAnn Rimes Garland, Tx. I know you grew up here. I'm a transplant here myself. May China had your photo up which is how I learned about you. You are such a gift. I'm old enough to be your mom, and I just love you.
@LeAnn Rimes I'm still kicking. I'm a pretty tough person. I have a great oncologist who has hope for me. How are you doing? Do you ever come by this way to perform? I signed up for your blog. It's a wonderful read. Come visit Garland sometime.
What can I say Leann Rimes is so talented and a heart of gold, she is underrated country singer who has so many fans I remember a song she did a long time ago called BLUE,that did it for me and been following her ever since that's her singing career,I live in Sydney Australia and I wish her the best always, cheers!!
A true artist and advocate. I heard this woman sing in Kansas City almost a decade and a half ago and was blown away. She is a testament to equality. Thank you!
Such a beautifull soul and voice. Always shows her empathy , ,sensitivity and pure heart. This lady is so special. So sincere and caring. No doubt about that.❤
I sing 'The Rose' and it always touches my heart so soulful - this brought tears to my eyes the choir was so beautiful so much like the Welsh choirs that touch the heart and spirit what a priviilage to sing with them Leann this was beautiful.
I absolutely love LeAnn Rimes singing and she's singing for a good cause. If my son came to me and told me that he was gay. I would still love him a mother has unconditional love for their children they will do anything to make sure that you're taken care of
I always thought Betty Midler was the best but this version by LeAnn is beautiful and with the background singing is a real complement they are also beautiful artists.
I grew up watching Bette Midler's movie in Tokyo and bought the soundtrack. I listened to it 1,000 times. I loved her singing voice but LeAnne's is more emotional here and I am so glad she sang this song at this special occasion. It was as if I watched the movie 'The Rose' again.
I asked her to marry me. She sat me down, and explained that she might be dying... from AIDS. I took a couple days, to ask God what to do. We got married. Twenty-something years ago. She's been "undetectable" for 20 yrs. I have been helped to be a better man, been given a life worth living. Happier than I have ever been, in 70-something years. Prayers for my younger brother, who left this world in 1994, after a 15-year struggle with his illness. God bless all the people associated with this video.
This gave me goosbumps... It doesn't matter who you are or what you like, we are all human beings. At the end of the day, it is love that matters and I'm sure God loves those who practice love... Respect and love...
Thank you LeAnn again. I will tell you that I appreciate you sticking your beautiful voice out there for my gay son and his mate before it was acceptable to the public. Seven years latter, my son is married to his life partner, and have adopted a baby girl child. You helped make this happen in my mind. Love to you!

A wonderful message, a wonderful song, wonderful voices. Awesome performance af all involved. You just gotta love it!
I just watched Leann sing Amazing Grace... that sent me here ❤
I forgot how beautiful this song is. Thank you for reminding me. My mom's mother used to keep the most beautiful little rose bushes next to her house. No roses seem to smell quite like they did...
How are you? So sorry for the infringe on your privacy. Beautiful song
Her cover of amazing grace is…well…just amazing!
@@Davidholton-cd3sk I'm in decent spirits. Thank you for your concern. God bless ☺
She really spoke and sang from the heart!
Priceless!
Wow! Just come across this. Simply fantastic. The power of the human voice can transcend so, so much!
One of the finest singers of all time
I'm an old straight guy but I can't avoid crying every time I watch this beautiful performance
Brought tears to my eyes.
Am crying..
LeeAnn is a gift of 'Voice'. God given strength in her vocal cords that pierce like a knife straight through your gutt.

Shes absolutely beautiful in and out. Beautiful performance. I love her . God bless you Leanne 🙏 ❤️ God given
She is wonderful, such a moving performance of this classic tune.

Gay men's chorals are the best! Love from a heavy metal loving cis woman. You make me cry. Beautiful every time.
I absolutely love LeAnn Rimes singing and she's singing for a good cause. If my son came to me and told me that he was gay. I would still love him a mother has unconditional love for their children they will do anything to make sure that you're taken care of
I love it there are plenty of gays. Adds to the artsy side of life and cut a down the population.
Beautiful xx mother of 5 children
I had triplets
I always thought Betty Midler was the best but this version by LeAnn is beautiful and with the background singing is a real complement they are also beautiful artists.
Another reason to love this talented woman!!! So compassionate and loving
@Danielle Maness loving of other people’s husbands.
me to love her so much.
Moo
OldOKGrampa I lost a beautiful nephew from AIDS 20 years ago. He was a sweet hearted man.
and bless you and her
You've been truly blessed
What compassion and love wish there were more like this but we live our lives through unknown guidance glad it was the right one for you. God bless

Heard this today, but cannot believe that somebody connected this beautiful songs together. It's simply a pleasure.
This evening there is a vigil in Reading for three men, from our community, killed for no reason. Somehow I have ended up listening to this song. xx.
This gave me goosbumps... It doesn't matter who you are or what you like, we are all human beings. At the end of the day, it is love that matters and I'm sure God loves those who practice love... Respect and love...
LeAnn sings this song like no one else can 😊☺️👌👍🤗 ! Makes me tear up everytime ! This one is for World Peace !
Hello 👋how are you doing?
Pure art. Talented and very feminine. What a CLASSY LADY.
She sings and she rocks.
Ms. Leann Rime you are a CREDIT to the music and to the world.
Sang beautifully by a gorgeous singer, a version to equal all others.
Beautiful words followed by beautiful song.
Now i am crying, I cant put into words how much i love this mega talented woman. Well done to the choir, a truly brilliant version of this song.
Yes, it seems much easier for a country artist to do this now. It wasn't then. Congrats. Sounds like that little girl has found herself a great family.
