Woah 666 likes if you turn the 9 upside down woah dude
yep :D
If anyone's worried about not being able to hear as high a frequency as Mark did, be aware that there is a strong chance youtube or your browser was messing you up. I couldn't hear anything above 15 kHz in the video, but opening Audacity and generating a 17 kHz tone was definitely audible. There are limitations in youtube compression, your browser, and your audio device. I tried playing a straight 16 kHz tone video in youtube, and still couldn't hear it. So don't be concerned from *just* this video alone.
I can tell you I can at least hear past 15k
yeah like i couldnt hear above 18kh but when i go to a normal hearing tes i can definately hear 20 kh
this! it honestly depends on the device, headphones, and streaming service or whatever the sound is coming from
the best way to actually get a hearing test is to go to your doctor or an E,N,T doctor because they have equipment that can actually handle those frequencies
this test also doesn't take into account not having noise canceling headphones which a lot of doctors use
at least when i was recovering from a ruptured eardrum, after about half a year of healing, i had a hearing test with an ENT doctor to make sure the rupture didn't make me lose any of my hearing (because when i got the rupture i lost almost all my hearing in that ear for a few weeks) and they put me in a soundproof room with noise canceling headphones so i could concentrate on the test instead of background noise
@li'l plague same
Ye there is no way YT compression will make a very clear or accurate sound, good work looking into it more tho
As a person with hearing aids that gets regular testing I can say that the first test is actually pretty accurate to real hearing tests
I dread those lists where I have to repeat the words back to the doctor, especially with my deaf ear. Sometimes I hear dirty words. I can always tell when I got it wrong when they try to hold back the laugh.
@@TheGigglingPickle If you think you hear a dirty word then yell it out loud so every fuckin doctor’s ears bleed.
Wow at didnt know you could get that in your ears. I hope you survive.
It feels like it'd be pretty accurate if I had decent memory, but for me it was more of a memory test.
The only hearing test I've ever gotten was tones not words. I always thought I couldn't hear but always passed the hearing test. Turns out it's probably auditory processing disorder so I can hear it just sounds like gibberish sometimes.

I still think this is a fairly decent indicator, bc some people heard the sounds Mark could hear & some people didn't. instead of comparing ourselves to Mark, we can compare ourselves to each other. so we might not be getting specific results, but we know relative to each other whose hearing sucks lol

I subconsciously moved my phone further from my face and grimaced, and my phone was already a couple feet from my head. Goddamn. I also can hear those old TVs tho. Sometimes people have thought I'm crazy when I ask if their old TV is on, because I can hear it and it trips me up. Usually it happened when I was caregivers, as I worked in an assisted living facility and lots of the residents had older TVs. The residents often thought I was crazy for asking if their TV was on, which okay valid their hearing isn't as good anymore. But sometimes my coworkers would also be like "uuuhhh no, buddy is you okay." I could just hear it really well even if it's very much a background kind of noise. Maybe it's something to do with having ADHD and an anxiety disorder, with the former making me too sensitive to some sensory stuff sometimes and the latter making me more vigilant. I dunno. This community is awesome and i felt like this needed to be said :)
I’m one of the few that use captions, as I lost most of my hearing at a young age. I agree wholeheartedly with you, because RUclips comments can be used, instead of tampering with the device some use to listen to Mark.
Dunno if it's going to be executed or not but word was that because of people putting in personal remarks, links and personal accounts of theirs (i;e advertising their own content on other people's content) RUclips might make a decision to remove the caption function in its entirety, super unfortunate news but again, just something I heard.

Unus annus has permanently influenced his every day content
And I wouldn't want it any other way
Mark: I'm gonna be taking hearing tests so please no excessive noise.
Amy: * calls Ethan * hey ... do you have a leaf blower?
Exactly what I thought LMAO

@@random.everly yeah, guilty as charged lol
Oh wow, that first test is actually a super simplified test that's used to test cognitive ability in people with either very prolonged or sudden hearing loss, its actually criminally underused in the hearing industry so I'm honestly surprised it was the first thing you found but it was super neat to see that first off!
(Note: its also super helpful to see if you may be experiencing a processing disorder, auditory specific or generalized)
its crazy that there is an actual leaf blower outside while I'm listening to this video
I wonder if this was an idea on the list of things Unus Annus never got to do and Mark is just trying to do them all now
