Nice riding. Along the lines of the last question, but different; what mount are you using for your phone? I was nervous about using one for my phone, but if it’s good for a track day I’m sold. Also, is the thing attached to the left side of the bar your external GPS?
I have a question: looks like you have non standard fork cardridges. What type did you use and how does the modification compare to standard? Did you change the rear suspension aswell? ... ok ... so that is actually more than one question. 😉
You are correct! I had WP apex pro Cartridges and shock installed on this bike. The difference was big, mostly noticeable on the track.I was able to fine tune my suspension settings fitting my speed and riding style perfectly. For the road the standard suspension did the job well but on the track it was lacking. I hope I answered your "questions" question XD. Cheers
@@a2matu197 thanks for your response. I'm lacking "feel" going into faster corners. Positioning helps a bit, but it feels like a weight transfer problem. You feel the front diving under braking, and then extending when releasing the brake and tuning in. Feels, to me at least, like there is not as much grip, going in. That makes me turn in slower than i otherwise would. A stronger spring and more damping control would help, i think.
@@daveverdonschot7956 The APEX. pro came with springs tailored after my weight. It would be easier for me to assist you if we could adjust your suspension:), If you are planning on getting different suspension let me know, after that I will gladly assist you with the adjustments.
@@daveverdonschot7956 You shouldn't use another spring to make the suspension stiffer. The spring stiffness is used to setup the geometry of the bike, so it should always match your weight and have sag setup correctly. Making the bike stiffer can be done with adding compression damping. You can of course use the knobs to increase or decrease the damping. If it doesn't suit your needs you can have the characteristics changed by a suspension engineer, they can rebuild the shim stacks on the piston to get a complete different dampening feel. Haven't done this myself on my Duke but we've had this done on our motocross bikes. Makes a huge difference... But there's an easy way to have a bit firmer frontend with the Duke and of course it isn't as great as having custom suspension but it works quite well. There's a third component in the fork that influences the working of the fork... The fork itself is an airchamber, also a sort of air spring. The air in the fork is compressed as the fork is compressed and adds a little extra stiffness... The amount of air available in the fork legs is controlled by the amount of oil added to the fork, there is of course a minimum level and probably a maximum (not sure you'll ever want to be in that area)... But adding a small bit of oil decreases the amount of air. Air is compressable and the oil isn't... So there's less air to be compressed and that makes the fork a bit stiffer... My motocross suspension guy added a bit of oil in my Duke 790 fork legs and they are way more stable under braking then before... Also really take your time to setup sag correctly, my bike was low at the rear end and normally you would expect it to be lazy stearing but quite stable at straights... It was indeed lazy in cornering but also sucked at straights, couldn't even let my hands of the bar... I added a bit of preload in the rear and it's much better now... Think I have to add one step extra... If you feel the right position is between two preload points... You can use the fork leg height in the triple clamps to finetune a bit. A bit more straight handlebar in a more forward position helps as well, my experience with the sag of the rear shock told me the frontend likes to be weighted on this bike. Of course it's all very personal... And after making improvements take your time to get used to it and gain confidence. Somewhere you need to stop changing stuff and just ride, you, my friend, are the part that can be tuned the most ;) Enjoy riding !
I own both bikes, only as good as the rider, the 790 DUke won’t touch the 1299, brembo M50s too, braking power is unreal. 0 -150 in 9.5 seconds, track with long straights, goodbye, never mind the amazing grip!!!
@@a2matu197 bummer, but thanks. Is it a recall? Or do I just ask to have the quick shifter recalibrated? I haven’t noticed an issue thus far; maybe the 890 R doesn’t have it 🤷🏻♂️
I think duke 890 can go as high as 290kmph or even 300 kmph as 790 in line 2 goes 247 locked if unlocked it may go up to 260 to 265 kmph so it make sense 890 duke can do 300 kmph for sure due to parallel twin motor I think these kinda motors have more grip on wheel that vtwin motors . Bro just waiting. For an IN LINE 2 RC 490 AS MY FIRST BIKE I WISH I WILL RIDE MY FIRST IN LINE 2 KTM SOON.
Bro I've ridden the 790 duke and it tapers off after 230 . Anything above 180 kmph on duke is wobbly. And there's no way 890 is doing anywhere near 290 or 300. Most I reckon is 250ish . they're not made to go fast on topspeed but they have a midrange power.
Before anyone notices, there is an error -> it says gsx1000 instead gsxr1000 in one part of the video, also thx to the lovely viewers
The scalpel!! Looks like you are enjoying! I love mine 🏍️
Nothing more fun than running with a bunch of slow guys that cant get their knees down lol
Ittybit bobo indeedXD
You know what's worse? Running with a bunch of fast guys who don't need to get their knees down. :(
What a blast. Can't wait to go chasing sportbikes on mine. :)
Wish I could ride my 790 as good as that. Props man 👌
I would have liked to see you having a better race with the rgv250! Great riding though and goes to show it's the rider more than the bike 👊
OK Amatu I signed up ... we're watching you, and good luck next yr. Spartacus out.
Thx brother! Hopefully ill be able to get back in the orange saddle again soon:)
Great video editing! I enjoyed it. Very entertaining.
Great rider, great bike and great music!!!! Congrats!!!
Great riding bud, good to see the 790 destroy the bigger bikes
Good Job! Which Smartphone bracket is this? THX
FlylikeBirds89 Thx!
It’s quadlock -> I have a review video of the product on my RUclips channel. Check it out. Cheers!

Nice!! How did you manage to get your tank black?
Jas Per I taped it:). Cheers!
What modifications did you do? Nice video
Awesome vid! What are the songs?
Thx, These songs are available in RUclips creator studio. Cheers!
Nice video! What front cartridges are you running?
Thx! Im running WP Apex pro 6500.
Great vid and skills! What's the app running on your phone to record lap times? :)
Edward Langley thx! I use RaceChrono app with an external gps module. Cheers!

what fork are you using?
Except the Ducati won’t break Don one day from Cheddar Cheese Camshafts. 😂
Did you fix false neutral between 5th and 6th?
No, it still came then and then, but much les after I recalibrated the quick shifter.
